At the first level, the task is specified in terms of abstract functions; the aim is to describe explicitly the evolution of the real process. The second deals with specification of sequences of processor state transformations. Hierarchical programming which deals with a rigorous methodology to ensure the program is presented.<<ETX>>","PeriodicalId":193917,"journal":{"name":"[1991 Proceedings] 6th Mediterranean Electrotechnical Conference","volume":"63 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1991-05-22","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131859878","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

How the neural net capability for inverse modeling, and then as predistorter, is related to the various TWTs that must be fitted is discussed. A supervised neural net is used with one internal neuron and no more than 10 internal unit, and the backpropagation algorithm for the learning process. The results related to TWT data obtained confirm the performances achievable with the generic TWT model: an average gain of 3 dB for the 64-QAM and an average gain of 5.5 dB for the 256-QAM systems, with respect to a baseband predistorter.<<ETX>>","PeriodicalId":193917,"journal":{"name":"[1991 Proceedings] 6th Mediterranean Electrotechnical Conference","volume":"13 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1991-05-22","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115454188","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

To increase the discrimination between two HMMs (hidden Markov models) lambda /sub 1/ and lambda /sub 2/, Viterbi's algorithm is used to segment the sequence of observations, obtaining for the state i and the sequences O/sup (1)/ and O/sup (2)/ the permanencies in the state i: n/sub i//sup (1)/ n/sub i//sup (2)/, respectively. With this value, the statistics 'of the model are estimated. The sorting mechanism is based on the concurrent operation of a number of tesselation-like automata called cellular logic gates (CLGs). The former consist of a memory element and a combinational logic element that constitutes the leaf cells of the cell-based design.<<ETX>>","PeriodicalId":193917,"journal":{"name":"[1991 Proceedings] 6th Mediterranean Electrotechnical Conference","volume":"118 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1991-05-22","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"117324024","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
