{"title":"Development of Specialized Education for Academically Gifted Students in Ukraine in Early XXI Century","authors":"V. The emphasis has been placed on the socio-political transformations and on the secondary education level reform. It has been established that the system of general secondary education began to be built on the basis of humanism, variability and profiling. Educational institutions of the “new type” have become widespread. Such institutions competed with each other, trying to attract the most gifted students. It has been proven that in order to increase the intellectual potential of the future generation, implementation of grant programs and projects has begun at the state level. In particular, the Program for working with gifted children for 2001 – 2005 and 2006 – 2010 has been approved, the Concept of specialized education has been revised three times (2003, 2009, 2013), and data banks for gifted students have been implemented. It has been noted that in order to maximize the development of the abilities of academically gifted students, various psychological and pedagogical projects and programs have been implemented in Ukraine, such as: Rostock, Intellect of Ukraine, School of Life Success, School of the Future, etc. It has been emphasized that the development of academically gifted students in extracurricular time was provided by the state-public association of the Minor Academy of Sciences. It has been established that the problems of inclusion and equal access to education were at the forefront of changes with the introduction of the reform of the New Ukrainian School. The emphasis has been placed on the need for substantive and functional changes regarding the formation of health-preserving and health-developing competencies in students of secondary education. The analysis of the formation of health-preserving and health-developing competences as a social and pedagogical problem has been carried out. It has been studied that scientists discuss a social problem related to the low level of health of Ukrainian youth. It requires a detailed analysis of its condition, the search and implementation of new approaches to the formation of value orientations of young people regarding their own health and issues of its preservation. The peculiarities of the formation of health-preserving and health-developing competences during the study of the subjects «Social and Health-Preserving», «Health and Physical Education» of educational sectors of the State Standard of Basic Secondary Education have been analyzed. {"title":"ChatGPT in the Educational Process of Higher Education Institutions: You Can’t Ban It You Can Use It","authors":"I. A brief theoretical review of relevant English- and Ukrainian-language scientific works on the studied problem has been made. The productive experience of foreign researchers in using large language models based on artificial intelligence such as ChatGPT in working with students has been briefly characterized, with an emphasis on their conclusions and recommendations on possible strategies and methods of working with chatbots. A systematic analysis of the most acute problems related to the possibility of open access of students to such technologies has been presented. The expediency of using a chatbot in the practice of teaching students has been reasonably demonstrated. The results of an empirical study conducted with the help of Google Forms software in the target audience of students of Borys Grinchenko Kyiv University have been highlighted. The study was aimed at identifying the opinion of the subjects of the educational process regarding the features and key principles of ChatGPT, and the expediency of using chatbots and artificial intelligence in the educational process. Examples of educational tasks based on ChatGPT have been presented. They have been selected considering students’ feedback on the feasibility of using such technology in the educational process. It has been emphasized that the Internet is a powerful resource and a unique way of scientific communication of scientific-pedagogical workers since the Internet space is developing as a special field of virtual science today. The works of scientists, which consider the problem of creating author profiles for the development of information and research competence of scientific and scientific-pedagogical workers have been analysed. Peculiarities of creating author profiles in some databases and assigning authors’ unique author’s identifier (ID) have been studied. Websites and scientific portals where scientific-pedagogical workers can post information about themselves and their scientific achievements has been considered: Google Scholar service «Bibliographic References», Publons, ORCID, ResearchGate and others. It has been stated that the creation and management of scientific-pedagogical workers’ author profiles on the Internet allows monitoring the scientometric indicators of their activity: the citation index, the average citation rate, and the Hirsch index (h-index). The social and communicative importance of the influence on the development of the teachers’ mathematical and scientific language has been analyzed. The peculiarities of the scientific language and the main flaws of its written presentation – the scientific style text – in the qualification papers of Mathematics teachers, who obtain the second educational level, have been revealed. Considerable attention has been paid to the formation of mathematical texts, in particular to issues of modern mathematical terminology. Typical linguistic and stylistic mistakes of authors, which they make when writing, editing and translating mathematical texts, have been analyzed. These mistakes to the specifics of scientific technical terminology, lexical and stylistic features of the style of scientific language have been related. Examples of the most frequently used lexical constructions and stable inflections in mathematical texts have been given. Recommendations on avoiding mistakes when constructing a text in a scientific style have been given. Program models for ESL education that can be realized at university departments under certain conditions are presented. It has been identified that ESL learning via mobile devices and apps, modern tech and computer-based technologies facilitates the individualistic approach of teaching, encourages mental activity and improves the effectiveness of the learning process. Some elaborations have been made to the statements regarding adult ESL education in the context of computer didactics as an innovative learning system in which the theoretical approaches and practical achievements of such an interdisciplinary branch of knowledge as Artificial Intelligence are realized. The article emphasizes the deep connection between the development of ideas through Artificial Intelligence and the disciplines which presuppose understanding, decision-making, learning i.e. Psychology, Logic, Linguistics. The comparative analysis has been done in order to identify empirical data of questionnaires regarding prioritizing the use of mobile devices, apps, and digital media in the ESL learning process.
