{"title":"Cultural Response of The Aboge Islamic Group to The Puritanism Movement","authors":"Intan Nur Azizah","doi":"10.24090/icontrees.2022.218","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.24090/icontrees.2022.218","url":null,"abstract":"The puritanism movement began in the 19th century, but a response to this event only emerged in the early 20th century, with the emergence of various puritan organizations. Since then, the spread of puritanism has reached rural areas, where the people are so strong in maintaining the Kejawen tradition. The Aboge Islamic Society is one of the Islamic groups that are still very strong with Javanese-Islamic nuances. Aboge's calculations in determining religious holidays and certain traditional celebrations are one of the social assets owned. This study aims to analyze in a cultural context, what are the strategies of the Aboge people in maintaining their identity when facing the penetration of the Puritan Islamic movement. This research is a type of qualitative research by not rule out quantitative data. This study uses ethnographic methods. The ethnographic method tries to describe the real conditions that exist in the field using participatory observation methods combined with interviews and even quantitative surveys, while on the other hand ethnography as a product tries to carry out cultural analysis only \"behind the desk\" as an observer. The results of the study show that the cultural response given by the Aboge community to the puritanism movement is an attempt to maintain the identity and existence of the Aboge group. Several responses were made, 1) the emergence of the Nyandi Islamic and Nyantri Islamic groups within the Aboge group as a form of change shown as a consequence of the times, besides that this was also the influence of the existence of the puritanism movement. 2) the use of the Aboge calendar. Calculations using the Aboge calendar to determine religious holidays are a characteristic of the Aboge community and this is used as social capital to maintain their existence in society. 3) Javanese petungan. The form of syncretism that is still held by the Aboge people which later gave birth to the Javanese petungan system based on weton includes determining when to build a house, when to travel or other matters. 4) the use of Jiping and Turki methods in the Islamic religious teaching system. Jiping or Koran Ears made the Aboge group not study texts, they only listened to the studies delivered by the Aboge elders. However, because the data collection process refers to the application platform on the internet, this research can be called a study of phenomena on the internet, or in other terms nethography while the analysis is carried out using qualitative descriptive analysis by looking at field data and also the appropriate theory in this study, namely the theory of mass communication and media exposure.  The results of this study describe 3 roles of the public space of family media, namely social transmission, 3 general points of role and purpose of relationships. The post-psychotic patient group is a group that is vulnerable to receiving bad treatment from society as a result of their experiences while suffering from mental disorders. Stigmatization and marginalization are forms of bad attitude that post-psychotic patients often receive when they return to society which triggers the failure of the mental treatment process they have been through. For this reason, mental strengthening is needed for psychosis patients as part of preventive efforts to prevent recurrence and re-treatment. This study aims to determine the strategies used in the process of strengthening the mentality of post-psychotic patients when they are undergoing the rehabilitation process before discharge. This study used a qualitative method with data collection techniques through observation, interviews and documentation conducted at the Jalma Sehat Mental Rehabilitation Center, Kudus Regency as the research location. The results of the study explained that the mental strengthening was carried out by therapists at the study sites by integrating biblitherapy techniques in the form of creation and innovation of wisdom stories which were integrated with spiritual guidance during the rehabilitation process before discharge. The interventions provided have an impact on the mental readiness of post-psychotic patients to face all the worst possibilities they receive when they return to society. Da'wah, primarily conducted face-to-face, has now turned digital, especially through social media such as Instagram. @Ngajikyaigusbaha is an Instagram account that engages in da'wah activities through videos. The contents are delivered using video compilations of da'wah by Gus Baha. They are conveyed in an attractive and straightforward visual presentation, making it easier and more understandable for the audience. This research's objective is to find out and analyze the forms of digital da'wah trends on the @ngajikyaigusbaha account. This research data was collected from virtual interviews, observation, and documentation. The data were analyzed using cyber media analysis, including four unit levels; media space, media archive, media object, and experience. Both are considered to represent two different poles of Islamic economics. Sjafrudin represented critical thinking, while Syafii Antonio represented mainstream thinking. This paper was made with a theory approach istinbat} law. Based on an analysis with this approach, it was revealed that Sjafrudin Prawiranegara tended to interpret usury philosophically, while Syafii Antonio tended to emphasize more on the linguistic aspects (bayani) as the views of the main religious scholars. According to Syafrudin Riba is all the profits obtained based on transactions or agreements in which one party is abusing his strong economic position to take advantage that crosses the line from his weak counterpart. One of the factors behind this problem was education in Indonesia which focused on exoteric approach so that the esoteric area in the formation of behavior was untouched. Therefore, research on adolescent salik of Qadiriyah wa Naqsyabandiyah (TQN) sufi order was one of the approaches to answer the problem of adolescent behavior that occurs. The theory for analyzing the amaliyah of TQN of adolescent salik was Hirschi and Gottfredson's theory of behavioral control which is one aspect of self-control. This study tried to find answers related to the behavioral control method of TQN adolescent salik at the Darussalam Islamic Boarding School, Gombong Kebumen. This research approach was phenomenology, which focused on the experiences of adolescent salik towards TQN amaliyah. The main data sources in this study were 12 adolescent salics and a Mursyid of TQN. The data were collected by unstructured interviews and participatory observations method. Based on the data in the field, the determinants of behavior were the saliks themselves. The saliks were independent and free in determining their own behavior. In regulating the stimulus, the saliks suppressed the appearance of lust with dhikr. Another method was omission, this omission was carried out under conditions when there was a stimulus that provokes the lust such as anger lust. This method was applied by all saliks when facing various conditions. This study aims to describe how the synergy of faith and the meaning of life as a spiritual aspect, becomes a carrying capacity for Covid survivors so that they are able to get through a period of crisis, and bring transformation to their spiritual life after they recover.  Researchers used a qualitative method with a case study approach and interview techniques to collect data on 4 COVID-19 survivors with moderate symptom experience in Kudus Regency. Based on the concept of the meaning of life in the theory of Logotherapy according to Victor E.
