In order to evaluate the performances of the prototype, a test bench has been established according to ISO standards. The tests were conducted over a period of twelve days to determine the daily performance and to verify the degree of mixing as defined by the ISO 9459-2 standard. The results were used for the prediction of long-term performances by simulation with SAM. As it has been noticed that the recorded performances were not sufficient, a new simulation was performed by replacing the UDES collector by a reference one from the literature having higher effective area and efficiency. It was observed that the obtained results were much better in terms of achieved temperatures at the outlet of the solar water heater. In order to obtain comparable systems performances, it was concluded that the thermal collector has to be reviewed.","PeriodicalId":130577,"journal":{"name":"2013 International Renewable and Sustainable Energy Conference (IRSEC)","volume":"53 58 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-03-07","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128774605","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

All the depositions were performed on cheap glass substrates at room temperature. Annealing temperatures and film thickness effect on the structural, morphological and optical properties of the films were investigated. The as-deposited films were annealed at 300 and 400°C for 1 h under oxygen atmosphere. The X-ray diffraction (XRD) and scanning electron microscopy (SEM) characterizations showed that the films covered the whole glass substrates and exhibit the wurtzite hexagonal structure. All the films are nanostructured. The film thickness effect on the band gap values was investigated and band gap values were found to vary within the range 3.2 - 3.8 eV depending on the growth conditions.","PeriodicalId":130577,"journal":{"name":"2013 International Renewable and Sustainable Energy Conference (IRSEC)","volume":"33 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-03-07","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114765892","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In this work, a state model of internal faults of the PMSM is developed. This model is in the (abc) reference frame. The modeling approach is based on the assumption that each stator phase is replaced by two major and minor sub-windings. This model is used subsequently in the residual generation for diagnosis. The fault indicators are obtained by the projection in parity space and estimated using the Luenberger observer. A scenario of fault inter-turn by the short-circuit occurring between phase (a and b) is validated by simulation.","PeriodicalId":130577,"journal":{"name":"2013 International Renewable and Sustainable Energy Conference (IRSEC)","volume":"63 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-03-07","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126372504","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This automation consists of the introduction of some adequate components such as solenoid valves, sensors (pressure, temperature and level) and pumps, which will be piloted by a programmable logic controller. Besides, to produce the electric energy necessary to the working of this refrigeration system and therefore to make it totally autonomous, a second system has been designed; it is composed of a parabolic dish reflector and a turbine coupled to an alternator that converts the mechanical work into electricity. Furthermore, in order to store the excess thermal energy delivered by the concentrator, a subsystem constituted of a pump and a supplementary reservoir is integrated to the main refrigeration system; the stored heat could serve to a domestic use. In addition to entire autonomy purpose of the unit during cold production, the simulation results showed that the proposed automation could enhance the system performance.","PeriodicalId":130577,"journal":{"name":"2013 International Renewable and Sustainable Energy Conference (IRSEC)","volume":"55 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-03-07","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126504623","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The as-deposited and annealing films were characterized by X-Ray Diffraction (XRD) for the structural, Energy Dispersive Spectroscopy (EDS) for the composition, Raman spectroscopy for samples quality and optical transmittance to measure gap energy. XRD revealed a β-In2S3 phase with a preferential orientation along (0 0 12) plane. Good stoichiometry was noticed in EDS measurement. Raman spectroscopy analysis shows a prominent of active modes of β-In2S3 films with annealing. This is confirming an improvement of structure cristallinity of all films and optical analysis shows a decrease of gap energy after annealing.","PeriodicalId":130577,"journal":{"name":"2013 International Renewable and Sustainable Energy Conference (IRSEC)","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-03-07","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130874918","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

A complete model of the device is presented. An accurate model of the induction machine is proposed because the considered faults are come from this element. The developed model of the conversion chain allows studying both the cases with and without faults. The principal components analysis (PCA) method is then used for system diagnosis. This approach is based on residues analysis. The complete model has been implemented on the Matlab software to perform the matrix data needed for PCA method. The simulation results of several variables such as stator and rotor currents, shaft rotational speed, electrical power, electromagnetic torque and other variables issued from mathematical transformations of healthy and faulted DFIG are analyzed. Comparisons of simulation results with those of other diagnostic methods are performed to show importance of the PCA method in fault diagnosis of systems. The results show the efficiency of the approach but require a good choice of the number of principal components.","PeriodicalId":130577,"journal":{"name":"2013 International Renewable and Sustainable Energy Conference (IRSEC)","volume":"37 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-03-07","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132135561","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Its principle is based on a simple coordination between the DC bus voltage control and the voltage battery energy storage systems (BESS) control. Smoothed output power and good operating performance of DFIG strongly depend on the stabilization of the DC bus. By using the proposed method, the stress of the capacity and the stress on power converters are reduced. A low pass filter (LPF) is inserted in the circuit of the DC bus for the effectiveness of smoothing. The robustness of the proposed control is validated by numerical simulations on Matlab / Simulink / SimPowerSystems.","PeriodicalId":130577,"journal":{"name":"2013 International Renewable and Sustainable Energy Conference (IRSEC)","volume":"10 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-03-07","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130097328","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
