Devant les quantités de plastique à éliminer, est née la volonté de trier certains plastiques pour une valorisation. Une filière de tri et de récupération, proposée par le fournisseur, d'un produit plastique particulier et omniprésent dans les laboratoires, a été mise en place au laboratoire de microbiologie du CHU de Marseille. Le projet a été très bien accueilli par les professionnels et s'est spontanément étendu à plusieurs secteurs du laboratoire. La mise en place de cette filière spécifique de tri permet de récupérer 1,5 tonne de plastique par an pour un deuxième usage.</div></div><div><h3>Abstract</h3><div>Plastics and single-use plastic devices are widely used in everyday hospital life, both for patient care and in the operation of medical laboratory facilities. Given the large amounts of plastic to be disposed of daily, the idea of sorting some plastics for recycling emerged. A sorting and recovery system, proposed by the supplier of a particular plastic product that is omnipresent in laboratories, was implemented at the microbiology laboratory of the CHU of Marseille. The project was very well received by professionals and spontaneously expanded to several sectors of the laboratory. Chaque année, plus de 300 millions de tonnes de plastique sont produites, dont une grande partie finit dans la nature. Les déchets plastiques polluent les océans, les sols et l'air, menaçant les écosystèmes, la faune et la santé humaine.</div><div>Des efforts émergent à travers le monde pour lutter contre cette pollution. Parmi eux, on note l'interdiction des plastiques à usage unique dans plusieurs pays – l'innovation vise à rendre les matériaux plus biodégradables –, ainsi que la promotion de la réutilisation et du recyclage. Si certaines filières de recyclage sont déjà bien établies, d'autres restent à évaluer ou à mettre en place. La recherche constante permet de détecter de nouvelles pistes, qui pourraient devenir les piliers du recyclage industriel de demain.</div></div><div><h3>Abstract</h3><div>Global plastic pollution is one of the most worrying environmental crises of our time. Every year, around 300 million tonnes of plastic are produced, much of which ends up in the environment. Plastic waste pollutes the oceans, soil and air, threatening ecosystems, wildlife and impacts human health.</div><div>Efforts are emerging worldwide to combat this pollution. Among them are the banning of single-use plastics in several countries, innovations aimed at making materials more biodegradable, and the promotion of reuse and recycling. While some recycling pathways are already well established, others remain to be evaluated or implemented.
