Chudori. Melalui pendekatan gastronomi sastra, penelitian ini menggali filosofi makanan yang dihadirkan da-lam novel Pulang karya Leila S. Chudori, bagaimana tokoh dalam novel memperlakukan kuliner, serta bagaimana representasi keindonesiaan yang ada dalam kuliner di novel tersebut. Penelitian ini adalah penelitian kualitatif deskriptif dengan sumber data novel Pulang karya Leila S. Chudori. Unsur-unsur yang berhubungan dengan kuliner dalam novel Pulang karya Leila S. Chudori menjadi data dalam pe-nelitian ini dan dikumpulkan dengan teknik studi dokumen atau pustaka. Data kemudian dianalisis dengan model analisis interaktif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa (1) makanan yang terdapat dalam novel Pulang karya Leila S. Chudori adalah satai kambing, kue putu, bir, kopi, pindang serani, dan nasi kuning. Kuliner-kuliner tersebut mengusung filosofi masing-masing; (2) tokoh dalam novel Pulang karya Leila S. Chudori begitu memuliakan makanan; (3) melalui kuliner, tokoh dalam novel menegaskan identitas kebangsaan mereka.Kata kunci: kuliner; novel;identitas bangsa[Culinary and Indonesian Identity in Leila S. Chudori’s Novel Pulang] This research tries to explore the culinary elements in Leila S. Chudori’s novel Pulang. Through a literary gastronomy approach, this research explores the food philosophy presented in the novel, how the characters in the novel treat culinary, as well as how the representations of Indonesian-ness in culinary in the novel. This research is a descriptive qualitative research using the novel Pulang as the data source. The elements related to culinary in the novel became the data in this study and were collected using document or literature study techniques. The data were then analyzed using the interactive analysis model. The results show that (1) the foods contained in Leila S. Chudori’s Pulang are satai kambing, putu cake, beer, coffee, pindang serani, and yellow rice. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan makna pepatah Jawa yang mencerminkan kehidupan masyarakat modern di Amerika dalam novel Impian Amerika karya Kuntowijoyo. Penelitian ini diharapkan mampu membuktikan bahwa pepatah Jawa tetap relevan dengan perkembangan zaman dan menyadarkan pembaca bahwa karya sastra bukan hanya hasil imajinasi pengarang tetapi juga merepresentasikan kehidupan sehingga mampu meningkatkan apresiasi pembaca terhadap karya sastra. Penelitian ini adalah penelitian deskriptif kualitatif dengan pendekatan antropologi sastra. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan teknik baca catat. Analisis data menggunakan teknik analisis isi. Hasil penelitian ini membuktikan bahwa novel Impian Amerika karya Kuntowijoyo menggambarkan prinsip hidup masyarakat modern yang diambil dari pepatah Jawa. Prinsip hidup tersebut berhubungan dengan usaha masyarakat dalam menciptakan keselarasan antara individu dan Tuhan serta keselarasan antar individuKata Kunci: pepatah Jawa; masyarakat modern; prinsip hidup; globalisasi[Javanese Proverbs as a Principle of Modern Society’s Life in Kuntowijoyo’s Novel Impian Amerika] Changes of mindset because of the changing era affect so many aspects of life. One of them is the interpretation of Javanese proverb which has always been used as a principle of modern society's life. The purpose of this research is to explain and describe the meaning of Javanese proverb which is the principle of modern society’s life in Kuntowijoyo’s Novel Impian Amerika that reflect modern society’s life in America. This research is expected to be able to prove that Javanese proverbs which are an ancestral heritage still relevant to today’s modern conditions and remind the readers that literary works are not only the result of the author's imagination but can also represent life and other positive values, thereby increasing the reader’s appreciation of literary works. This research is a descriptive qualitative with a literary anthropology approach. Data collection technique was note-taking technique. The data were analyzed with content analysis technique. The results of this research prove that Impian Amerika illustrates the principle of modern society's life taken from the Javanese proverb. Sumber data penelitian adalah novel Garis Waktu (2016) karya Fiersa Besari. Data penelitian ialah kalimat yang mengandung pembentukan metafora konseptual. Pendekatan penelitian menggunakan deskriptif kualitatif dengan pemerolehan data melalui relevances sampling. Pendekatan teori menggunakan penentuan klasifikasi domain sumber metafora konseptual dan strukturalisme kesusastraan. Metode analisis menggunakan metode analisis isi, introspektif, dan padan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pembentukan metafora konseptual oleh seorang penulis dalam karyanya memiliki berbagai fungsi. Berbagai fungsi pembentukan metafora konseptual yang dijumpai ialah memberikan nilai filosofis, menampilkan estetika berbahasa, memperkuat dan memperdalam makna yang terkandung, memperluas konsep makna, menghindari kebosanan dan kejenuhan pada diksi, memberikan gambaran fisik terhadap entitas abstrak, memberikan makna yang tersirat, menyederhanakan istilah terhadap konsep yang kompleks, serta memperjelas unsur ekspresif perasaan tokoh. Konsep makna yang merujuk pada pengklasifikasian domain sumber ditemukan sebanyak 14 klasifikasi.[Figurative Language in the Form of Conceptual Metaphor in Fiersa Besaris Novel of Garis Waktu] The research aims to discuss the classifications of source domains in the construction of conceptual metaphor and describe their functions for the story narrations and readers. The researchs data are sentences that have the construction of conceptual metaphors. The approach of the research was descriptive qualitative and relevance sampling was the data collection method. The theoretical approach used was the source domain classifications and structuralism. Data were analysed with content analysis, identity method, and introspective method. The result of the study showed that the constructions of conceptual metaphor by a writer in their content of story have many functions. The functions of conceptual metaphor formations include providing the philosophical value, showing the aesthetic of language, strengthening meaning, expanding the meaning concept, avoiding the boredom of diction, giving the physical perception of an abstract entity, giving hidden meaning, simplifying expressions of complex meaning, and showing the emotion of the characters feeling. The perspective of concept as the comparison in the conceptual metaphor could be understood as a source domain. This novel was chosen because it is full of representations of cultural ecology in the millen-nial era. The discussion of cultural ecology cannot be separated from the relationship between culture, humans, and the environment. This study uses a cultural ecology approach. The data are textual units containing the discourse of cultural ecology. The results of this study indicate that there are dynamics in cultural ecology described through human actions in need fulfillment, namely traditionally and modernly. Selecting one of these methods will give birth to inequality to the environment. To examine these matters, this study uses descriptive analysis methods with criticisms of feminist literature and theories of narratology, cross-culture, and identity. A structural approach is used to analyze the narrative structure that builds the narrator's frame of mind. The results of the study show that as a narrator who truly lives a mixed marriage, experiences polygamy, and has embraced Islam, Caroline Pochon realizes that mixed marriages are not easy to live by because she must try to maintain her identity as a French woman. Seno's census efforts were displayed through the short story \"Saksi Mata\" seen from class migration and author's ideology, socio-political conditions, and narrative aesthetics at the time so as to destabilize the police hierarchy and establishment of the regime. Departing from this, how \"Saksi Mata\" offers an aesthetic form through the census of political and aesthetic structures, with the migration of its authors to shake the power of both regimes. This research uses the census theory of Jacques Rancière. Data collection is done by referring and dialectically. The results showed that, first, \"Saksi Mata\" responded to the New Order's authoritarian political structure that mobilized censorship, confining the freedom of opinion and work. Second, Seno's aesthetic movement also undermines the conventions of ethical regimes and representative regimes. This article argues that sexual acts committed against Henry Park by his white wife is manifested as a form of consumption towards ‘Liyan’. The theories use in this research are post-colonialism theory that is argued by Edward Said (2006) and consumption theory that is proposed by Bell Hooks (1992). This article uses descriptive analytical method. The data from the novel are described to obtain an overview of the construction of Korean-American masculinity. The text and the author were very contradictory and paradoxical. In one side, the discourse of resistance are revealed,  but on the other hand it also kept the discourse on colonial construction. This writer uses the postcolonial approach and discursive method to analyze the penomenon. This study uses the discourse that was built by two experts, Rodgers and Harahap, who concentrated on researching the texts of Si Bulus-Bulus Si Rumbuk-Rumbuk and Willem Iskander. Through this discursive method, the writer reconstruct the opinions of the two experts using postcolonial perspective. Beside looked at the text, the writer also consider in social, political, and the Mandailing people culture as supporting culture. The results show that Willem Iskander is an ambivalent figure. A figure who voiced resistance as well as a figure who obeyed colonial construction. This paper aims to examine the metamorphosis of kidung from the ritual realm to the digital domain which is the basis of today's electronic mass media. Data were collected with ethnographic method and interviews with enthusiasts and audiences of kidung as well as with managing of electronic mass media. Recording method was used to record the interactive kidung programme in Radio and TV. The data were examined by transformation media and globalization theory. The study began with a description of the metamorphosis of kidung from the ritual realm to digital, enthusiasts and audiences, as well as the future of the kidung cultural heritage in the digital era. The result shows that the transformation of kidung from the ritual to the digital domain is a revitalization process that makes this tradition increasingly lively, not vanishing as it has been feared. Considering that intolerance and gender-based injustice still happens within our society, any discussion about gender and race portrayal, particularly through films, becomes urgent. The study aims at investigating how gender and race are portrayed in Cars trilogy. Gender portrayal is analysed through Beauvoir’s concept of immanence and transcendence and Finklea’s themes about masculinities. The portrayal of race is investigated using McLaren’s critical multiculturalism. The study uses the descriptive analytical interpretative method. The data analyzed are the characters, dialogue, and plot. The result shows that men and women are portrayed as equal but the stereotypes are still visible. Men are portrayed not only brave but also confident. Males’ romantic interest is manifested in heterosexual desire and male bosses are driven by profit. Women can be successful in racing if she dares to intervene the bureaucracy or is given opportunity by men.
