This study aims to identify the teachers’ readiness to engage in PdPR and to examine the factors influence it. This study also investigates whether self-directed learning mediates the relationship between computer self-efficacy and teachers’ readiness. This study utilised an online survey research design with further categorisation and analysis of teachers’ perceptions on their readiness that was gathered via a questionnaire comprising 35 questions based on six assessment criteria. The respondents consisted of 267 teachers from four primary schools in the states of Kuala Lumpur and Selangor in Malaysia who have been conducting PdPR teaching consistently since the Covid-19 outbreak. The finding disclosed that the majority of teachers are ready to embrace PdPR teaching albeit there are still a number of teachers who are still uncertain about their capabilities in conducting PdPR. Results revealed that the computer self-efficacy, technology adaptability, and financial readiness have a significant positive influence on the teachers’ readiness, but not organizational support. In addition, there is an indirect mediating role of self-directed learning on the relationship between the computer self-efficacy and teachers' readiness. Overall, the findings are consistent with Social Cognitive Theory where teachers’ readiness is influenced by individual cognition, individual behavior, and the performance environment. The policymakers could treat the outcomes of this study as a benchmark in synthesising an improvised version of the current PdPR teaching guidelines to better facilitate the teachers if the world is faced with a similar pandemic in the future.","PeriodicalId":472293,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Advanced Research in Education and Society","volume":"24 6-7","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-10-31","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"136018652","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It adopted the Delphi method and invited 10 experts as the research objects to conduct three rounds of questionnaires. Delphi technology is a widely used and accepted method to gain consensus among experts. In the first round, the experts who participated in the survey received a questionnaire about the components of CSEM and evaluated whether each component should be retained or deleted according to the median and Quartile Difference (QD). In the second round, experts re-evaluated the components by experts and finally adjusted the contents of the text modification opinions put forward by experts. In the third round, experts re-evaluated the newly proposed components. Participants were asked to rate the categorized responses from Round 1 on a scale of 1 to 5, with 1 being “Very Irrelevant” and 5 being “Very Relevant”. Based on three rounds of Delphi data analysis, the results show that all the items that reach QD ≤0.5 and M ≥4 remain the final components of CSEM. The important results of this study are as follows: 4 primary indexes and 19 secondary indexes are constructed as the components of CSEM. This important research result will lay a theoretical foundation for the future application research of the CSEM teaching model.","PeriodicalId":472293,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Advanced Research in Education and Society","volume":"10 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-10-31","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"136018650","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The primary school teachers participate in professional learning community (PLC) for self-regulated learning (SRL) in mathematics classroom. Much literature points out that strategies of self-regulated learning can be taught to students in mathematics classroom. Moreover, teachers' metacognitive ability will affect their teaching effectiveness. In response to the issue of this study, there are two major explorations. Firstly, this study develops teachers’ metacognition scale for mathematics instruction and then verifies its construct validity and reliability. Secondly, the researcher carries out primary school teachers’ PLC for SRL in mathematics classroom. Participants are teachers from one primary school in rural area. Results show the construct validity and reliability of teachers’ metacognition scale for mathematics instruction are acceptable. In addition, mean of statistical test indicates that teachers’ metacognition for mathematics instruction are improved significantly. Therefore, it indicates PLC for SRL in mathematics classroom is effective way to promote teachers’ metacognition. Based on the findings, some suggestions for future studies and mathematics teachers’ professional knowledge are discussed.","PeriodicalId":472293,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Advanced Research in Education and Society","volume":"44 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-09-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"135039119","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
