Examining Lecturers' Perceptions on the Interplay between Artificial Intelligence and the Sustainable Development Goals
Artificial intelligence (AI) will not only improve our lives, but it will also cause profound disruption. AI has the potential to increase the efficacy of both positive and negative things, making it both an opportunity and a menace to human progress. As a result, this study conducted an open-ended interview with one thousand Selangor lecturers regarding AI and its connections to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The results of the thematic analysis indicate that individuals recognise the technology's potential to improve their lives, as well as its monitoring capabilities. On the basis of its effects, artificial intelligence is categorised as "good," "evil," "harmful," "close" or "distant." The potential of AI raises ethical, privacy, and security concerns. In the healthcare, education, and energy sectors, AI is promoted, but it also presents challenges and trade-offs, particularly in relation to the SDGs. When AI perceptions and sustainability issues are essential for an expanding high-tech enterprise, one can refer to the study's findings.
