Higher vocational teachers, as a primary influencing factor in students' learning capabilities, directly impact the effectiveness of vocational subject instruction through their professional teaching abilities and career development. Therefore, it is imperative for higher vocational teachers to engage in thoughtful professional planning for their careers, thereby enhancing their teaching proficiency and undertaking self-improvement and training as \"dual-qualification\" teachers. This, in turn, elevates the teaching ability of higher vocational colleges. Consequently, the construction of a \"dual-qualification\" teacher workforce requires attention. Through an examination of existing literature, this study identifies issues within the development of such a workforce and proposes recommendations for improvement.","PeriodicalId":472293,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Advanced Research in Education and Society","volume":"24 4","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-10-31","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"136018660","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This non-experimental quantitative study relies on a meticulously crafted questionnaire as its sole data collection instrument, aiming to elucidate the correlations existing among the various factors examined in this study. Our sample consists of 152 pre-university students hailing from diverse Malaysia universities, including Universiti Malaya, Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia, Universiti Putra Malaysia, Universiti Teknologi Mara, and Universiti Pertahanan Malaysia, carefully selected through the Simple Random Sampling method. To unravel the connections between the independent variables, namely teaching methods and learning styles, and the dependent variable, which is academic excellence, we employed Descriptive Statistics and Pearson Correlation analysis using IBM SPSS Version 26. Our analysis, conducted on this sample size of 152 participants, revealed a weak correlation between teaching methods and learning styles (r=0.445, p=0.000). Notably, our findings did not yield any significant correlations between teaching methods and academic excellence, nor did they indicate a significant relationship between learning styles and teaching methods. These results provide valuable insights into the multifaceted dynamics of education in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic, shedding light on the intricate connections between instructional approaches, learning preferences, and academic outcomes for university students.","PeriodicalId":472293,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Advanced Research in Education and Society","volume":"332 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-10-31","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"136018654","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

However, many academicians were under-prepared. Now that the pandemic is over, it is time to reflect on these online teaching practices and consider their suitability and sustainability in this post-pandemic era. This study used a case study approach and examined blended and hybrid learning and online assessments and their use in higher education institutions. It adopted a crowdsourcing approach to gather the relevant literature and was backed by the reflection and experience of the academicians in a branch campus of an Australian university in Malaysia. This study suggests that academicians could still use blended and hybrid learning as an alternative but must upskill themselves. Furthermore, selective online assessments could still be used. This study would be helpful to academicians and policymakers in higher education when deciding the teaching mode and assessments in the post-pandemic era.","PeriodicalId":472293,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Advanced Research in Education and Society","volume":"46 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-10-31","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"136018260","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The review examined previous studies on using Google Classroom, its features in language learning, and how they have been applied to improve English. The findings indicate that Google Classroom positively impacts students' language learning outcomes, such as improved writing, speaking, and listening skills and increased motivation and engagement. However, the effectiveness of Google Classroom depends on various factors, such as the teacher's proficiency in technology, adequate technical support, and students’ access to devices and the internet. Students’ access to devices and the internet is critical to successful implementation, especially in rural and low-income areas where access to technology can be limited. Therefore, educators and policymakers must ensure adequate resources and support are available to successfully implement Google Classroom in language learning. The review highlights the need for further research on the implementation and effectiveness of Google Classroom in language learning. Overall, this study suggests that using Google Classroom can be a valuable tool to support language learning. With the increasing demand for English language proficiency in the global job market, using technology in language learning, such as Google Classroom, can be a valuable tool to improve language learning outcomes and prepare students for future success.","PeriodicalId":472293,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Advanced Research in Education and Society","volume":"54 ","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-10-31","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"136018263","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Currently, the challenges of balancing work and life are demanding. WLB conflicts have negative effects on others, be it the university organization or the family. Failing to manage work-life balance effectively can result in work absenteeism, low job quality, reduced creativity, stress, and family conflicts. Previous literature on WLB has provided limited emphasis on the principles of Islamic law (maqasid syariah) among academic professionals. While some WLB models have been developed, they tend to overlook the crucial religious and moral elements that are essential for social well-being. Therefore, this study aims to analyze the conceptual framework of a WLB model based on maqasid syariah towards the social well-being of public universities in Malaysia. This research is highly relevant to the management of Malaysian public universities as preliminary information in designing human resource development strategies to ensure the overall well-being of employees in the workplace based on maqasid syariah. Thus, this study can contribute to the enhancement of a holistic and sustainable work-life balance policy implementation by public university management to cultivate multi-dimensional and productive academic professionals in line with the fifth strategy, social balance, in the Vision of Prosperity Together 2030.","PeriodicalId":472293,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Advanced Research in Education and Society","volume":"343 ","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-10-31","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"136018399","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
