A reliable diagnosis on this matter is made by a historical-literary analysis, carried out with the help of the cube figure. It indicates the most important axes ordering Polish contemporary poetry in a way that transcends the ad hoc character of critical assessment. An additional criterion is a historical-literary context related to the works of Kochanowski, Sęp Szarzyński, and Norwid. The recognition, referring mainly to the poems of poets grouped around the journal \"Topos\", shows that in the 21st century, Christian poetry in Polish literature is not present. Accordingly, it questions the statement from the commentary to the novel A Walk with Pleasureand Not Without a Moral in the latest Complete Works of Shevchenko, which says that he quoted one of Padura’s songs from the 1842 Lviv edition. The prototype of Padura’s collection described in the novel was probably the Warsaw edition of 1844. It is also suggested that in future academic publications, it should be noted that Yan Komarnytskyi was not the author of the song “I returned from Siberia,” one of the versions of which is put in Shevchenko’s diary. {"title":"Gawęda dubiecka Wincentego Pola","authors":"Marek Nalepa","doi":"10.36770/bp.746","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.36770/bp.746","url":null,"abstract":"Wincenty Pol’s ties to the Podkarpacie region (Sanok, Przemyśl, and Gorlice Lands) resulted in many important works, such as “Songs and Our Land”, “Mohort”, “Szajne-katarynka”, “Pictures from Life and Nature”, and numerous occasional poems. Some of these works were inspired by the writer’s acquaintance with members of the Krasicki family of the Rogala coat of arms, especially with General Ksawery Krasicki. The article discusses the second part of Memoirs of Pan Benedykt Winnicki, written in the Podkarpacie region, entitled “Senators’ Consent. The Tradition of the Gentry from Sanockie”, the inspiration for which was Ignacy Krasicki’s visit to Dubiecko, two years after his appointment as bishop, and his settling of a dispute between two feuding Sanok families of the Bale and Mniszchy. The author shows that in telling this story, Pol used the Dubiecko variety of storytelling, just as Franciszek Karpiński had done half a century earlier in Journey from Dubiecko to Skałka. These observations were literary-processed reflections of the writer”s personal experiences acquired during her long stays abroad, mainly in England, France, and the USA, as well as during the trips she made through Germany, Austria, and other European countries. However, the perception of Polish-Russian relations was influenced by matters related to the history of the writer’s family, born in the last decade of the 19th century in Russian territory. Czarkowski was a physician, combining his professional work with his ethnographic and bibliophilic interests. He actively participated in various organizations and scientific societies. He also collaborated with the Journal “Wisła”, whose editor was Jan Karłowicz. In the letters addressed to him, Czarkowsky deals primarily with ethnographic issues. He writes about the various dialect materials ha had collected, such as vocabulary, songs, proverbs and fairy tales. He also provides editorial comments on the articles published in “Wisła”. The analysis presented shows that the Tykocin dictionary flows from the culture of the region from which it grows. The shape of the lexicon collected by Gloger was influenced by various factors, including geographical, historical, socio-economic conditions, tradition, beliefs, way of life, customs of the participants of the folk culture of the time. These conditions shaped their way of perceiving and valuing extralinguistic reality. Kobylińska-Masiejewska worked as a teacher all her life, and debuted as novelist in interwar Vilnius, where she created numerous portraits of students in teacher’sdiaries Świat w szkole and Pamiętnik nauczycielki and fiction for teenager’s readers; however, she did not try to create a novel aimed for girls at this time. A. Olizarowskiego podług gminnych podań (A Novel by A. Olizarowski based on Folk Tales). The poem was published in the Lvov “Rozmaitości” magazine in 1835 and has never been published or printed since then. It was not even mentioned by Maria Janionin her monumental symbolic biography of the vampire. For many years, the works by Olifir, a poet, playwright, literary critic, aphorist, and emigrant politician, have been remembered only by a small group of specialists and enthusiasts. Scattered or remaining in manuscripts, the poet’s work was most often treated as epigonic, unoriginal or poor. To the contrary, the topic of the first epic poem by T.A.O., which is analysed here, set in the core of the Romantic anthropology of the Nosferatu, is doubtlessly intriguing. Besides, the work is an interesting aesthetic proposal. In the analysed poem, Olizarowski chose the topos of the werewolf, which is difficult to elaborate on in the Romantic tradition. As a result, as I attempted to demonstrate in my dissertation, he created an intriguing, ambiguous image of that character, which is open to wide literary and anthropological contexts. As the author of the dissertation is convinced, the Werewolf is an interesting aesthetic and ideological proposal. The poet creates a successful alliance of the Romanticfrenzy with folk demonology, balancing between frenetic imagination and folkloricfictionalisation.
