„Słownik tykociński” Zygmunta Glogera – zapis kodu kulturowego dziewiętnastowiecznego Podlasia

The purpose of the paper is to show the correlation between the vocabulary collected by Gloger, presented from the perspective of semantic fields, and theculture of the region. The analysis presented shows that the Tykocin dictionary flows from the culture of the region from which it grows. The shape of the lexicon collected by Gloger was influenced by various factors, including geographical, historical, socio-economic conditions, tradition, beliefs, way of life, customs of the participants of the folk culture of the time. These conditions shaped their way of perceiving and valuing extralinguistic reality. Thus, the picture of the world that emerges from the dictionary is its interpretation made by the local community through the language.
