Accordingly, it questions the statement from the commentary to the novel A Walk with Pleasureand Not Without a Moral in the latest Complete Works of Shevchenko, which says that he quoted one of Padura’s songs from the 1842 Lviv edition. The prototype of Padura’s collection described in the novel was probably the Warsaw edition of 1844. It is also suggested that in future academic publications, it should be noted that Yan Komarnytskyi was not the author of the song “I returned from Siberia,” one of the versions of which is put in Shevchenko’s diary.
