During the period, women in Java struggled to maintain their existence in facing pressures and marginalization from the community. The study aimed to elaborate the concept of happiness in Javanese women as portrayed in Serat Wulang Putri texts, compilation of passages written by a Javanese women in about one century ago. Employing macro-literature approach, the study relied on genetic structuralism analysis to put emphasis on the intrinsic features, the author’s social background, as well as the socio-historical reality during which the texts were written. The results show that the Wulang Putri text featured notions emphasizing ideal characteristics of a Javanese woman in responding to the social situation that disrespects women’s rights. Composed by the King or his/her relatives, the texts placed women as the commodity of power; moreover, in the text written by a woman named Nyi Adisara, women’s happiness was described in four characteristics: 1) gunawan (intelligence), 2) wiryawan (nobility), 3) hartawan (wealth), and 4) berawan (fertility).","PeriodicalId":428575,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the International Conference on Science and Education and Technology (ISET 2019)","volume":"50 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-06-23","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116380088","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This study is classified as a qualitative-explorative study conducted at students of mathematics education at the Faculty of Science and Technology of UIN Walisongo. Data analysis techniques used in this study refer to the stages of qualitative data analysis namely data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The technique of checking the validity of data using time triangulation. Results of this study conclude that subjects with high mathematical abilities can decide and apply problem solving strategies correctly and appropriately, but are less able to evaluate problem solving carried out with definitions, valid mathematical theorems. So in an effort to improve the critical thinking skills of students with high mathematical abilities, strategies or models that can accommodate this condition are needed. this difference.","PeriodicalId":428575,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the International Conference on Science and Education and Technology (ISET 2019)","volume":"421 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-06-23","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132587673","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This research was aimed to describe teachers effort to prepare and carry out social studies learning on controversial material. The research approach is qualitative. The study was conducted on social studies teachers in Pekalongan City, Central Java. The focus of the study is the learning of social studies teachers in controversy material. Data collection is observation, interviews and documents. Data analysis using interactive analysis. The results of the study were the learning of material controversy in social studies has not been well constructed by the teacher. The teacher has not carried out material analysis by separating material that can be developed to grow the critical power of students because it contains controversial material. Thus, the learning that he does also uses a learning model that is not based on material. It happens because the teacher's educational background is monodisciplinary, material analysis does not involve teacher professional groups, and lack of understanding of the material controversy in social studies learning.","PeriodicalId":428575,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the International Conference on Science and Education and Technology (ISET 2019)","volume":"12 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-06-23","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130212878","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In the learning of drama, structure and textures are inseparable, thus to comprehend the underlying meaning and content of drama, comprehensive steps are required to understand the symbols of arts in drama performance. The performance was not described in details in relation to settings and stage properties.
