The growing number of traffic lights in intersections needs efficient control, and hence, automatic systems are essential nowadays for optimally tackling this task. Agent based technologies and reinforcements learning are largely used for modelling and controlling intelligent transportation systems, where agents represent a traffic signal controller. Each agent learns to achieve its goal through many episodes. With a complicated learning problem, it may take much computation time to acquire the optimal policy. In this paper, we use a population based methods such as particle swarm optimization to be able to find rapidly the global optimal solution for multimodal functions with wide solution space. Agents learn through not only on their respective experiences, but also by exchanging information among them, simulation results show that the swarm Q-learning surpass the simple Q-learning causing less average delay time and higher flow rate.","PeriodicalId":426557,"journal":{"name":"2015 Intelligent Systems and Computer Vision (ISCV)","volume":"64 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-03-25","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127427574","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

We have proposed a new approach that integrates a dynamic Hill-Cipher encryption added to the step of quantizing of JPEG compression. A step by step demonstration is given in order to show the functioning of the crypto compression scheme constructed. This explanation justifies how to strategically integrate different operations of our crypto compression system. The effectiveness and robustness of our scheme is validated by measuring its security strength, its computational cost and the quality of reconstructed images (PSNR). The results showed that our new idea by both its generic fast encryption and its simple adaptation provides a reasonable complexity and a good compromise between security and compression rate, this crypto compression scheme is efficient and recommended for networks with low bandwidth especially for low-power devices.","PeriodicalId":426557,"journal":{"name":"2015 Intelligent Systems and Computer Vision (ISCV)","volume":"8 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-03-25","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121882552","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Many methods have been proposed for artifacts removing from EEG measurements, and especially those arising from an ocular source. Principal Component Analysis (PCA) and Independent Component Analysis (ICA) have been proposed to remove ocular artifacts from multichannel EEG. In contrast to this, we present a new algorithm for ocular artifacts removal from a single electroencephalographic channel recording. This method is based on a set of information on brain wave frequencies. Our results on EEG data, collected from healthy subjects, show that our algorithm can effectively detect and remove ocular artifacts in EEG recordings.","PeriodicalId":426557,"journal":{"name":"2015 Intelligent Systems and Computer Vision (ISCV)","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-03-25","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132120831","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The proposed approach uses the best-ranked documents retrieved by the search engine while submitting the spatial entity composed of a spatial relationship and a noun of a city A. Then, apply to it the Latent Semantic Indexing method to found the nearest cities Bi to A, and proceed to a step of validation of each link by verifying if A is also found in the results of the cities Bi. In our experiments, we constructed a geographical taxonomy of adjacency for Morocco. We varied the spatial relationship used in the step of documents retrieving to compare the results of the different spatial relationships, and we used google web services as a search engine to compare the results returned in every case. Then we used the constructed taxonomy in geographical query reformulation. We have used the Un-interpolated Average Precision (UAP) to compare the returned documents before and after reformulation. According to our results, we note that reformulating geographical queries based on our built taxonomy improves widely the precision of the queries.","PeriodicalId":426557,"journal":{"name":"2015 Intelligent Systems and Computer Vision (ISCV)","volume":"62 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-03-25","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128893824","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The effectiveness whose this method has demonstrated in this kind of situations, obviously depends on the regularization term that has a direct impact on the expected result. This regularization term requires a priori knowledge of the power spectral density of the original image that is rarely accessible, hence the estimation of approximate values can affect the image quality. An amelioration has been brought to this method, which consists to iterate the Wiener filter to estimate the power spectral density of the original image. The optimization of the iteration count of the iterative Wiener filter by genetic approach leads to the better result.","PeriodicalId":426557,"journal":{"name":"2015 Intelligent Systems and Computer Vision (ISCV)","volume":"31 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-03-25","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"117090304","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
