A causalidade implícita é uma propriedade de uma classe de predicados verbais cuja causa para o evento que denotam tende a recair, para alguns verbos, no sujeito da oração (“enfurecer”, “decepcionar”) e, para outros, em seu objeto (“parabenizar”, “admirar”). Nosso objetivo foi registrar o viés de causalidade de 50 predicados. Para isso, realizamos um experimento de continuação de sentenças com 34 participantes, falantes nativos de português brasileiro. Nossas análises identificaram 24 verbos com viés de causalidade associado ao sujeito e 22 verbos com viés de causalidade associada ao objeto. Esses resultados expandem um corpus já existente em português europeu (COSTA, 2003). Que saibamos, este é o primeiro estudo normativo para a construção de um corpus de causalidade implícita que tem como alvo falantes de português brasileiro. O resultado é um conjunto de verbos que podem ser usados em futuros estudos em psicolinguística ou psicologia que lidem com relações de causalidade. Implicit causality is a property of some verbal predicates that strongly associate their causality with their subject (for verbs such as “enrage”, “disappoint”) or their object (for verbs like “congratulate”, “admire”). Our goal was to measure the causality bias of 50 predicates. In order to do so, we carried out a sentence continuation experiment with 34 participants, all native speakers of Brazilian Portuguese. Our results identify 24 verbs with a causal bias associated with the subject of the clause, and 22 verbs with a causal bias associated with its object. These results expand a corpus that already exists in European Portuguese (Costa, 2003). To the best of our knowledge, this is the first normative study for the construction of a corpus of implicit causality that targets Brazilian Portuguese speakers. The result is a set of verbal predicates that can be used in future studies in psycholinguistics or psychology that aims at investigating causal relationships.Keywords: psycholinguistics; implicity causality; verbs; Brazilian portuguese.","PeriodicalId":40506,"journal":{"name":"Caligrama-Revista de Estudos Romanicos","volume":"1 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.1,"publicationDate":"2021-09-17","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"67550463","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In this article, the object of analysis are toponyms that denominate human groupings, specifically municipalities and districts, transplanted from Italian toponymy to Brazilian toponymy through the adoption of the modifier “novo” (“new”). After examining all the names of Brazilian municipalities and districts, 16 toponyms were included in the data set to be analyzed. These toponyms were studied considering linguistic, in particular morphological and semantic, and historical-cultural aspects. We observed that, in the vast majority of cases, Italian toponyms transplanted in Brazil started to be used in Brazilian toponymy to name places occupied by Italian immigrant communities, thus characterizing a form of evocation of the homeland.","PeriodicalId":40506,"journal":{"name":"Caligrama-Revista de Estudos Romanicos","volume":"26 1","pages":"69"},"PeriodicalIF":0.1,"publicationDate":"2021-04-22","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"67550652","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

However, silence is part of language and, like speech, it crosses texts and allows the subject to construct various meanings. Despite the (in)visibility of silence in speech, one can feel its clues, perceive its presence in cracks, breaks and failures. Through this work, we try to show the relationship between language, silence and meaning, more particularly in literature. We reflect on how the linguistic/discursive marks of silence construct meanings. To do so, we rely on the work of Kerbrat-Orecchioni (1986, 1990), Heuvel (1985), Orlandi (1997), Bakhtine (1984) and Sarraute (1996), among Caligrama, Belo Horizonte, v. 26, n. 1, p. 95-110, 2021 96 other researchers who reflect on silence in discourse. As a conclusion, it is considered that despite the insufficiency of typographical means to express silence, the literary text, composed of words and silences, brings forms to speeches and allows them to construct/give various meanings.","PeriodicalId":40506,"journal":{"name":"Caligrama-Revista de Estudos Romanicos","volume":"26 1","pages":"95"},"PeriodicalIF":0.1,"publicationDate":"2021-04-22","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"49010579","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In the field of syntax, one of the outstanding characteristics that would differentiate the Caribbean variety from other varieties of Spanish is precisely the frequent explicit expression of the pronominal subject, even in neutral contexts. In this work, we investigated whether the Cuban Spanish, which has received little attention from the literature so far, behaves in a similar way or distances itself from the other varieties that make up the Caribbean zone, with regard to the expression of the pronominal subject. Therefore, based on a Labovian-based sociolinguistic theoretical and methodological orientation (WEINREICH; LABOV; HERZOG, 2006[1968]; LABOV, 2008[1972], 1994), the corpus used consists of the interviews provided by the PRESEEA project (Proyecto para el estudio sociolingüistico del español de España y América). The general results indicate that the null subject is the preferred strategy in this variety. However, when compared to the pronominal rates found in other studies – whether of the Cuban variety or other varieties – it is noted that Cuba behaves similarly to other varieties in the Caribbean area.","PeriodicalId":40506,"journal":{"name":"Caligrama-Revista de Estudos Romanicos","volume":"26 1","pages":"45"},"PeriodicalIF":0.1,"publicationDate":"2021-04-22","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"67550624","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In this specific narrative, it is possible to recognize a great number of autobiographical elements from the writer’s life while she tells the pain of waiting for a husband captured during the second world war. The same event happened to the writer during the 1940’s, when her husband at the time, Robert Antelme, was taken by the German army to fields of forced work and extermination. Lately, the original texts, that is, Duras’ notebooks themselves, were organized and published in a new book, something that changed the way we used to read the narrative “The pain”. Therefore, and considering the later publication of the text exactly as it was written in the writer’s diary, the intention of this article is to confront the original text and the final book version of it. The main purpose is to investigate how the idea of self-writing gains different meanings when it faces a new process of fictionalization and publicization of the autobiographical writing, named in this case as a literary self-writing. Studies from Michel Foucault and Jacques Derrida are going to be used as theoretical background on notions that guide the process of writing (and rewriting) a personal experience.","PeriodicalId":40506,"journal":{"name":"Caligrama-Revista de Estudos Romanicos","volume":"26 1","pages":"163"},"PeriodicalIF":0.1,"publicationDate":"2021-04-22","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"67550557","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The postmodernist conjuncture also appears as a space in which debates on issues that emerge from a society strongly marked by global capitalism and communication technologies are established and, producing an information overload, generate the need to organize and apprehend the past, from where the speeches about memory and all interpretations of time arise. This appeal to re-reading ends up producing a poetics of [re]creation that feeds on the cultural residues of the past. As theoretical backbones of the proposed analyses of metafiction, Linda Hutcheon’s work about postmodernist poetics in conjunction with Walter Moser’s concept of historiography is privileged, as well as with the transformations in the historiographic thought promoted by Les Annales and developed by microhistory.","PeriodicalId":40506,"journal":{"name":"Caligrama-Revista de Estudos Romanicos","volume":"26 1","pages":"129"},"PeriodicalIF":0.1,"publicationDate":"2021-04-22","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"67550443","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The theoretical basis is the Dialogic Discourse Analysis with Bakhtin (2003, 2010) and Orlandi (2001, 2007). It is questioned the descriptive character of the test, which was focused on formal aspects, at the expense of the discussion of the possible meanings of language use, as recommended by the National Curriculum Parameters (PCN, in Portuguese) and the National Common Curricular Base (BNCC, in Portuguese). This research follows qualitative methodology, a documentary nature, starting from the materiality of the statements of the PL test, with focus on social practices. It is important to emphasize that in 2018, three years later the previously mentioned contest, the IFSP applied tests to candidates with the same background, reframing the evaluation so as not to consider only grammatical aspects.","PeriodicalId":40506,"journal":{"name":"Caligrama-Revista de Estudos Romanicos","volume":"26 1","pages":"27"},"PeriodicalIF":0.1,"publicationDate":"2021-04-22","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"48544832","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
