Web-based Learning Management System (LMS) is one of the main components for the e-learning system. There are multiple benefits of using LMS including cost reduction, content management, flexibility, and many more. Despite of theses significant benefits of using LMS, traditional LMS system cannot supports with modern learning needs. In particular, extracting useful information from the huge educational data and analysis and interpretation that information is challenging. Learning analytics can effectively support these needs in terms of predict learner performance, engagement and potential problems. This research presents learning analytics using machine learning techniques and considers its integration into LMS. The approach considers various indicators such as assessment score, gender and age for the prediction. This certainly supports organization to undertake actionable decisions as preventive measures for the overall teaching and learning support. We have considered a widely used learner data sets to demonstrate the applicability of our approach. The result shows that Decision Tree shows the highest accuracy among the chosen three ML algorithms. We have observed that average grade for a given course acts as an important indicator to predict over all outcome.","PeriodicalId":403147,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the 2020 2nd International Conference on Modern Educational Technology","volume":"11 1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-05-15","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116793861","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Combining them into one mobile application lessens the hassle of having to access each museum specifically. This would benefit museums that are part of one commission but are functioning individually depending on their location. To improve upon current mobile applications, the system would relegate all notification functions into one place: a dedicated mobile application with push notifications if the visitors wish to be notified firsthand. Moreover, it gives the user information on museum artifacts in an exhibit after scanning the QR code of said artifact in the form of text or audio.","PeriodicalId":403147,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the 2020 2nd International Conference on Modern Educational Technology","volume":"152 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-05-15","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124239322","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

To address this predicament, several works of literature support the implementation of flipped classroom methodology where the student can learn independently through the help of a learning management system, while the teacher provides an outcome-based evaluation and activities. However, learning independently through the guide of computers and internet contents might expose the learners to a lot of unwarranted distractions. One of these distractions is playing online games. This study attempts to explore the influence of playing online games and the respective gaming behavior of learners while going through a flipped class of the database management course.","PeriodicalId":403147,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the 2020 2nd International Conference on Modern Educational Technology","volume":"14 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-05-15","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126743001","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Recently, the Philippines has acted upon reforms to capacitate the demands of quality education. However, the disparaging condition of the educational arena has resulted to poor students' performance. The Electronic Intervention Material (EIM) is a technology embedded e-strategy to facilitate knowledge acquisition, provide intervention and fill-in learning gaps. The study was undertaken to develop, validate and determine the acceptability of electronic intervention materials in Science for Grade VII. The study made use of experimental method utilizing pretest-posttest design. The findings of the study revealed that the over-all mean scores of the experimental group in the four learning areas remarkably increased during pre-tests and posttests. The developed, validated, and accepted EIM for grade 7 Biology has obtained a very high acceptability (Mean- 4.55, & SD-0.82). When utilized under an experimental test, the students have significantly shown improvement in terms of the student's performance. Significant gain scores in the pre-tests and posttests of the students revealed that the usage of EIM is resulted to improved receptions of concepts and acquired literacy. The EIM can be utilized primarily by teachers teaching the grade 7 whose areas of difficulty were identified on levels of organization/microscopy, plant and animal cells, heredity, inheritance and variation and ecosystem. Such mentioned areas were critical to the appreciation of Biology education, for it serves as fundamental unit of Biology learning in the junior high school Science curriculum.","PeriodicalId":403147,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the 2020 2nd International Conference on Modern Educational Technology","volume":"22 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-05-15","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129512746","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
