Design/methodology/approach This briefing is prepared by an independent writer who adds their own impartial comments and places the articles in context. Findings This study lifts the lid on the interactions between employee engagement, transformational leadership, innovative culture, and workplace digitalization, based on insights from executive management representatives of a wide range of Malaysian companies. On their semi-automation journeys, the results revealed that employee engagement is boosted by the presence of an innovative culture and of transformational leadership individually. Employees accepting workplace digitalization is a complex phenomenon, yet it can drive employee engagement by introducing tools that make the employees’ own role objectives clearer. Both transformational leadership and innovation culture are strategic people assets worthy of a company’s investment of resources. Design/methodology/approach This briefing is prepared by an independent writer who adds their own impartial comments and places the articles in context. Findings This research dives into the interplay between the complex concept of employee engagement and the employee perception of HR practices (PHRP), within non-profits. Data from the respondents revealed that PHRP was a key, direct driver of engagement, both at an individual job role level, and at an organizational engagement level. Trust in HR processes is very much needed, for an organization culture in a non-profit to thrive. Weaving proof-through-behavior into HR practices can boost engagement and curb employee attrition, by helping employees to expect positive HR interactions in future. Design/methodology/approach This briefing is prepared by an independent writer who adds their own impartial comments and places the articles in context. Findings This study examines HR management strategies for adapting to the proliferation of hybrid working practices in India since 2020. A framework is proposed to harness the win-win cost saving and flexibility benefits for employers and employees alike. Updating HR policies to underpin and embed new evolved working practices is advocated here. In particular, managers need to level-up their leadership skills to add value to their individual team members remotely. Spotting and acting on burnout signs is also of paramount importance in an increasingly work-from-home world. Design/methodology/approach This briefing is prepared by an independent writer who adds their own impartial comments and places the articles in context. Findings This study using respondent data from Pakistan sets out to demystify the relationship between role stress, transformational leadership, job burnout, and organizational commitment. The results include that more role stress caused lower organizational commitment and vice versa. And, interestingly, the presence of a transformational leader in a person's work life is at least a partial antidote to stress-induced burnout occurring. The findings support advice that managers can help avoid an escalation to their people burning out by proactively identifying and resolving unclear role boundaries, overbearing workloads, and conflict among colleagues. Poor, harmful leadership should also be addressed properly and early.
