It aims to relate how the perceptions of pedagogical capital affect teachers’ performance in the language classroom. Data for this study were collected from three participants purposively. The data, in this research, have been analyzed based on the framework of Stake (1995). The study uses Bourdieu's (1977) notion of cultural capital for theoretical substantiation and the findings indicate that teachers' pedagogic capital is an ability that can be employed for an effective teaching-learning process. {"title":"Role of the National Human Rights Commission for the Protection of Human Rights in Nepal","authors":"S. Giri","doi":"10.3126/dristikon.v12i1.46134","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.3126/dristikon.v12i1.46134","url":null,"abstract":"The article aims to analyze the role of the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) in the protection and promotion of human rights in Nepal. As a constitutional body, NHRC has the key role in the effective protection of the rights of the people which are safeguarded by the constitution and scattered laws. Article 249 of the Constitution of Nepal 2015 has clearly mentioned that it is the duty of the National Human Rights Commission to ensure the respect, protection, and promotion of human rights and its effective implementation. National Human Rights Commission Act, 2012 provides authority to NHRC to protect and promote human rights through inquiries and investigations based on the complaint lodged to the commission by the victim or any person on his/her behalf or upon information received from any source or on its own initiative. Despite the formulation of laws related to human rights, the implementation side is complicated. Use of children in the election, discrimination, labor exploitation of foreign migrant workers, and cases of domestic violence are increasing and the condition of earthquake survivors and the corona pandemic is more pathetic. Thus, the article argues that impunity still persists and the NHRC recommendations have not been implemented and it has not been able to work as per the constitutional mandate. The finding of the study is human rights situation of Nepal is still worrying. The analysis is significant as it helps to understand the human rights situation in Nepal and the functional role played by NHRC to protect human rights as the constitutional commission. It needs to be discussed from rural community and urban perspective in terms of the local understanding, experience, and knowledge in environmental discourse. The local understanding on climate change in Nepali society is the spatial comparative analysis of understanding to the environment from the perspective of local people. Being spatial comparative studies, it compares the understanding of environmental change of people among rural and urban areas Province 1 of Nepal. It underpins the interpretive research philosophy based on the qualitative research approach, employing the convenience sampling of non-probability sampling design with in-depth interview, and observation as the tools of data collection. The six research informants, three from the rural areas of Temkemaiyum of Bhojpur district and three from the urban areas of Dharan Sub-metropolitan City of Sunsari district have selected for the perception and experience collection for the comparative study. The finding has revealed that the both people of urban and rural areas are noticing the climate change. However, their understanding has varied based their knowledge, understanding, and experience. Though the study has focused on climate change, it has been recommended for researchers, policy makers, and policy implementers for environmental discourse in further research in Nepalese context. {"title":"Nexus between Fiscal Inclusion and Economic Growth of Nepal","authors":"R. This study employs descriptive as well as multiple regression model using the data over the period of mid-July 2014 to mid-July 2021 to examine the linkage between financial inclusion and economic growth of Nepal. The empirical results of the study reveal that there is strong association of financial inclusion with economic growth, however, there is no positive and robust impact of financial inclusion on economic growth of Nepal. In contrary, overall analysis of the study shows the strong evidence to support the view that financial inclusion is the backbone of the Nepali economy. This study covers only limited indicators of financial inclusion and limited periods of data which are not enough to evaluate the long-run relations of financial inclusion and growth of Nepal. This study suggests that policies promoting financial deepening and penetration and reforming the financial sectors to bond with the financial inclusion for economic growth of Nepal. In this study, we attempt to assess the significance of financial inclusion in economic growth so that piecemeal efforts can be made to combat Nepal's policy hitches and logjams.
