Estudià a la Facultat de Filosofia i Lletres de la Universitat de Barcelona i s’especialitzà en llengües semítiques, on fou deixebla de Joan Vernet, membre de l’Institut, del qual ella ma teixa redactà la necrològica publicada en el vol. 5 d’aquesta revista, p. 117-119 / 239-240. Tot just llicenciada amb Premi Extraordinari (1969), fou redactora de la gran majoria d’articles sobre el món semític a la Gran enciclopèdia catalana i coordinà les collaboracions externes dins d’aquest àmbit. Ha obtingut dues vegades el Premi d’Assaig Joan Fuster dels Premis Octubre del País Valencià. La primera, el 1976, amb el treball col·lectiu Raons d’identitat del País Valencià (Edicions 3 i 4, 1977). La seva aportació, «Una llengua, dues llengües, tres llengües», tracta de la parla dels andalusins valencians —o sarraïns, tal com eren coneguts a l’edat mitjana—: un dialecte de l’àrab, evidentment! La seva publicació obligà a un canvi de tàctica dels qui defensaven —sense raó— que el valencià era la llengua que haurien parlat els mossàrabs i els moros del país. La segona vegada (1981), el va guanyar amb l’obra Contra moros i jueus (Edicions 3 i 4, 1981), on estudia les discriminacions sofertes per les minories religioses al regne de València. Ha estat traduïda al castellà (Península, 1986) i a l’àrab (Ministeri de Cultura d’Egipte, 2005). De fet, un dels seus camps d’estudi són encara les minories religioses a la Corona catalanoaragonesa i recentment ha pres part activa en els diversos congressos de commemoració de l’expulsió dels moriscos que s’han celebrat. L’any 1984 defensà la seva primera tesi doctoral destinada a comparar el text àrab del geògraf andalusí al-Zuhri amb una traducció castellana del segle xiv. En paraules del doctor Vernet quan proposà Dolors Bramon com a membre corresponent d’aquest Institut, l’any 1996, «es tracta d’una obra de gran erudició i que aporta nous detalls als fins llavors coneguts sobre els mètodes utilitzats pels traductors medievals. A més, dóna a conèixer determinats episodis de la nostra vida cultural del segle xii i una sèrie de llegendes i idees etnològiques llavors en voga». Tal com Vernet mateix va concloure en el pròleg a la seva publicació (Ausa, 1991), l’autora «va resoldre amb enginy, geni i saber les dificultats de la seva recerca». El tractat d’al-Zuhri permeté identificar, per exemple, la «rabitam de Cascall», que apareix en una escriptura de donació atorgada pel comte de Barcelona Ramon Berenguer III a l’abat del monestir de Sant Cugat del Vallès, l’any 1097, com la localitat actual de Sant Carles de la Ràpita, al Montsià. La descripció que en féu aquest escriptor àrab, que visità personalment la ràpita, fou el tema de la ponència que Dolors Bramon presentà al congrés sobre les ràpites de 1989, que es publicà més tard (ICMA-CEROMDI, 1993). Its existence garnered international attention on par with the bison of Altamira. The history of Roca dels Moros in El Cogul is the history of prehistoric rock art on the eastern side of the Iberian Peninsula. Based on this site, this article is a synthesis of the results of a study on the post-Palaeolithic rock art of the Mediterranean basin on the Iberian Peninsula for over 100 years, along with a discussion of the public administrations' efforts to further the conservation and protection of this kind of archaeological site. These efforts have earned the rock art of the Mediterranean basin on the Iberian Peninsula a place on UNESCO's list of World Heritage Sites.","PeriodicalId":38516,"journal":{"name":"Catalan Historical Review","volume":"1 1","pages":"11-31"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"68918301","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Tot i que no ens ha pervingut la de les catedrals romaniques, ni la de les grans abadies com Ripoll, el que es conserva es molt notable, tant estilisticament com des del punt de vista de la iconografia, inspirada sobretot en la de la Roma paleocristiana i de la reforma gregoriana, pero amb altres aportacions del mon bizanti, del mon llombard i del mon germanic, traduides en programes d'imatges molt originals. A les obres emblematiques conservades al Museu Nacional d'Art de Catalunya (MNAC), com l'absis de Sant Climent de Taull, capolavoro de la pintura romanica europea, o el de Sant Pere de la Seu d'Urgell i el de Santa Maria d'Aneu, de notabilissima qualitat tots dos, les pintures de Sant Joan de Boi, una part de les de Sant Quirze de Pedret i d'altres, s'hi han de sumar les del Museu Diocesa i Comarcal de Solsona, les del Museu Episcopal de Vic, les del Museu d'Art de Girona i les del Museu Diocesa d'Urgell i, a mes, nombrosos murals i testimonis pictorics conservats in situ, molts dels quals descoberts en la restauracio de monuments efectuada als darrers anys. D'aquestes troballes, sobresurten les pintures de Sant Vicenc d'Estamariu i, tambe, noves imatges als arcs triomfals de Sant Climent de Taull, amb les quals es pot completar millor la lectura del seu programa iconografic. In Catalonia, it was used to spotlight the wool industry and other activities and to separate it from what was believed to me a more modern economic activity, the manufacture of calico. The economic activities found all over a country are the ones that indicate its ability to make the most of the opportunities that were emerging and show that industrialisation based on the cotton industry – as well as on other outputs – was nothing more than the seizing of an opportunity by a land that was poised to do so. The article reflects on the roots of this ability.","PeriodicalId":38516,"journal":{"name":"Catalan Historical Review","volume":"1 1","pages":"67-84"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2012-12-10","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"68923779","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The history of a heterogeneous revolutionary deployment, 1930-1938","authors":"Susanna Tavera","doi":"10.2436/CHR.V0I5.64989","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.2436/CHR.V0I5.64989","url":null,"abstract":"This research embarks upon a study of anarchism during the Second Republic and the Spanish Civil War, while it also falls within the framework of the latest and most important historiographic contributions to this subject. It examines the distinction between anarchist militancy and membership in the Single Unions of the National Confederation of Labour (CNT); the decisive and highly significant ties between the members and the local and regional spheres, especially in the Catalan-speaking countries and even Spain-wide; the role played by the press in the movement, which set great store by their ideological aversion to politics and simultaneously the meaning that the so-called libertarian “groupism” had to the FAI members, as well as to the members and anarcho-syndicalist leaders of the Single Unions. Finally, the study upholds that the anarcho-syndicalist leaders and/or anarchists belonged to “affinity groups” that were defined according to the jobs they assigned themselves, but with the assumption that they could join or belong to more than one group according to militant “friendships” and specialisations, which could be strictly union-related and could also include anarchist or open cultural “action” – the latter including theatre, newspapers and infra-litterature. However, it should be noted that the heterogeneity of the forms of membership did not imply the existence of numerous “anarchisms”, since unity was ensured through varied forms of solidarity and coordination, and even through the so-called “honour trials”.","PeriodicalId":38516,"journal":{"name":"Catalan Historical Review","volume":"1 1","pages":"101-116"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2012-10-14","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"68923801","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
