In this context, the CNN’s structure creationdepends on several hyperparameters, which impact the resultspositively or negatively. The Genetic Algorithm implementationallows us to explore the search space of these hyperparametersto find the best architecture for solving the problem. The definedsearch space is formed by the combination of both the numberof convolutional layers and the fully connected ones, the numberof filters for each layer, the size of filters, the subsampling type,and the number of nodes in the fully connected layer. This paper proposes to improve the Deep-Emotive network with the imple-mentation of Convolutional Neural Networks (CNNs) architectures using Genetic Algorithms. The FER-2013 dataset was chosen toclassify seven emotions by images of facial expressions, as it had the worst performance in the first version of the network, reach-ing an accuracy of 60.71%. This dataset has images with common problems for computer vision algorithms, such as occlusion, im-balance, perspective, noises, as well as images that do not exist in the context of emotions. The experiment’s results indicate thatthe proposed approach can generate a CNN architecture with anaccuracy of 63,84% in the train set and 62,39% in the validationset. Despite a low-performance rate, the experiments indicate thatthe algorithm can generate more adapted individuals who havealready overcome the performance achieved by the first version ofthe network defined empirically. Thus, results show potential forexploitation in environments with more computational resources.","PeriodicalId":375380,"journal":{"name":"Anais do XIII Computer on the Beach - COTB'22","volume":"143 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-07-13","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116405830","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Over the past two decades,interlinguistic studies have been using eye-tracking techniques toinvestigate language comprehension and production. Studiesdemonstrate the use of these techniques in populations withneurological or speech-language disorders, including aphasia. Toinvestigate the use of eye-tracking techniques in Brazilian aphasicindividuals, the authors are proposing a study to analyze sentencecomprehension in the elderly with Broca’s aphasia. In thiscontext, this article presents a literature review to define amethodology for conducting the study. The studies gathered in theliterature review provided subsidies to define the screeningprocess, select stimulus, and define metrics of interest using eyetracking. For voice and speaker recognition systems to be more robust, these noises must not interfere in a harmful way, causingerrors in understanding commands. We tested a speaker recognition model with i-vectors and Probabilistic Linear Discriminant Analy-sis (PLDA). We have analyzed the impact of noise in conjunction with reverberation on its error rate. Along with this technological advancement, the number of elderly people have grown exponentially in recent years and tend to increase even more. This part of the population is having a greater interest in using these new technologies due to the ease generated. For this reason, they must be accessible to users of all ages. This research aims to evaluate the perception when using the CAPTCHA security mechanism on websites, focusing on elderly users. The main results of the study were the preference for image CAPTCHAs, considering them easier than textual ones. It was found that, in addition to age, factors such as vision problems, education and average daily Internet use influenced the resolution of CAPTCHAs. In addition, the volunteers were observed to feel at ease when resolving this security mechanism.","PeriodicalId":375380,"journal":{"name":"Anais do XIII Computer on the Beach - COTB'22","volume":"38 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-07-13","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114477531","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

During testing, the API achieved an average margin of error of 14.72% per reconition. Tests were carried out with 21 people without disabilities, who differed by their intimacy with digital games. Based on the results obtained, it was possible to verify that the players performance when using the standard control was superior to the performance using voice controls.
