It is intended to know and analyze the reasons for such requests. As adopted methodology, the research was divided into four phases: the first refers to the theoretical foundation; the second, to field research; the third discusses the launch and analysis of data and the fourth refers to the analysis of the results obtained. The research initially presents a bibliographic survey that deals with school dropout, its causes and consequences, in addition to the IFPI legislation on Course and Discipline Lockout, thus offering subsidies for an internal policy to combat school dropout. Thus reaffirming the commitment to the academic community of the IFPI. In times when research and academic discussions must be increasingly active, humane and capable of provoking new perspectives on our work and on our time. -Campus Parnaíba, and also on the conception of the students of the technical course in the environment about the distance learning modality in the training of quality technicians at the Buriti dos Montes Pole, in relation to the challenges of access and permanence faced during these courses. Also in this issue, we have an important research that deals with the psychoanalytical correlations about the Piauí legend “o Cabeça de cuia” which makes approximations between the legend and the psychoanalytic theory, specifically in the Freudian Oedipus complex, bringing important perspectives in the authors’ point of view. We also have two significant studies, an approach to aspects of Lima Barreto's work having as scope its relationship with the climate of political and social instability of the First Republic, and the Influence of language concepts and mediation of Portuguese language teaching, emphasizing languages at work teacher in Portuguese Language classes, it is a study about the valuation of the contributions that each one has in the scope of the pedagogical mediation that aims to minimize the difficulties of the students in relation to the processes of textual production, bringing to the public important discussions on the researched themes. related texts, currently an extremely pertinent debate in Brazil, we also have, in this issue, texts that deal with other topics such as: a study that analyzes the perception of nurses about biosafety in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) in Parnaíba, bringing the daily life of these professionals and the importance of adopting the necessary biosecurity measures to protect themselves and the client under their care. At the end of this magazine, we bring a Review of Telma Franco's book Bullying against the deaf: the silent manifestation of resilience. We believe that the Somma Magazine of the Federal Institute of Piauí reaffirms itself as an important means of disseminating the work carried out by researchers and professors at the institution, as well as another publication space for researchers who see in this multiplicity a place that dialogues, enables and encompasses research. from different areas. Such a story awakened in the authors of this work, sparks that focused on scrutinizing the similarities between Heidegger's thinking about Dasein and his ability to be open to the world, unfolding in possibilities and attributing meaning to the reality that surrounds him with the shared experience by the author of the literature. In the technical course on the Environment at the Federal Institute of Piauí, notably at the Buriti dos Montes Pole - PI, these concerns arise along with questions about how to combine theory with practice from the perspective of quality distance learning. In this way, the general objective of the research was to know the vision of the students of the Technical Course in Environment of the Federal Institute of Education, Science and Technology of Piauí - Polo Buriti dos Montes, in relation to the challenges of access and permanence faced during the course to distance. The methodological direction was included in the qualitative research aspect and the production of data was carried out through the application of a questionnaire to 25 students of the mentioned course. Bardin's (1979) content analysis technique was used to organize and analyze the data found. The observational analyzes and the testimonies of the students reveal that, when participating in this experience in distance education, they began to conceive this teaching modality as a facilitator of learning and a trainer of research students, allowing the construction of the autonomy of the participants. According to some students, distance learning is advantageous due to the flexibility of schedules and few face-to-face classes. Thus, it is justified that the legends, an integral part of Brazilian folklore, have been neglected within Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) due to their non-scientific nature which, consequently, results in the exclusion of this national historical element. The work is framed as a descriptive and field research with a quantitative approach. It was carried out at the Dirceu Arcoverde-HEDA State Hospital in the city of Parnaíba-PI and consisted of five nurses who work in the same unit. A questionnaire with open and closed questions was used as a collection instrument. The analysis and interpretation of data were worked to establish a relationship between the theoretical framework and reality. The results show the nurse's profile, biosafety knowledge. However, it can be said that in practice, not all nursing professionals who work in the ICU adopt the necessary biosafety measures for their protection during the assistance they perform. The condition of Brazilian backwardness and the need to insert the country in the context of the transformations of world capitalism mark the place and social condition of which Lima Barreto is the spokesperson. In this way, the fragments collected from his writing are timely as dissonant elements in relation to what literature represents and its space of hegemonic affirmation of power.
