Análise sobre as causas do trancamento de curso pelos alunos no Câmpus Parnaíba – IFPI (2007 a 2012)

Abstract

The present work constitutes a research investigation through the Course Interruption Request records filed in the Academic Control of Campus Parnaíba. It is intended to know and analyze the reasons for such requests. As adopted methodology, the research was divided into four phases: the first refers to the theoretical foundation; the second, to field research; the third discusses the launch and analysis of data and the fourth refers to the analysis of the results obtained. The research initially presents a bibliographic survey that deals with school dropout, its causes and consequences, in addition to the IFPI legislation on Course and Discipline Lockout, thus offering subsidies for an internal policy to combat school dropout. It is concluded, among other factors, that the causes of these requests go beyond pedagogical issues.
