Percepção do enfermeiro sobre biossegurança na Unidade de Terapia Intensiva - UTI em Parnaíba-PI

This research aimed to analyze the perception of nurses about biosafety in the Intensive Care Unit-ICU. The work is framed as a descriptive and field research with a quantitative approach. It was carried out at the Dirceu Arcoverde-HEDA State Hospital in the city of Parnaíba-PI and consisted of five nurses who work in the same unit. A questionnaire with open and closed questions was used as a collection instrument. The analysis and interpretation of data were worked to establish a relationship between the theoretical framework and reality. The results show the nurse's profile, biosafety knowledge. However, it can be said that in practice, not all nursing professionals who work in the ICU adopt the necessary biosafety measures for their protection during the assistance they perform. This situation can compromise the health of the professional, as well as that of the client under his care.
