The study's goal was to compare the outcomes of early ileostomy closure with late ileostomy closure after surgery. A prospective study was done to evaluate the results of patients who went through early ileostomy closure ( within 6 weeks) to those who had late ileostomy closure (>6 weeks). All patients above 18 years old who had stoma subsequent surgery of bowel both in emergency and elective settings. In this prospective observational study, 60 patients were randomly assigned into two groups by the SNOSE method for closure of ileostomy at different intervals of time: early ileostomy closure (<6 weeks), n=30, and late ileostomy closure (>6 weeks), n=30. During three months, all patients were monitored for surgical complications. Early closure was performed on 30 of the 60 trial participants, with the mean time for closure in the early group being 4 weeks and 7.2 weeks in the late group. The postoperative problems and hospital stay did not vary considerably. In conclusion, based on our experience in both ileostomy closure groups at varied time intervals, the early group within 6 weeks did not increase post-operative problems and morbidity. The systematic assignment of patients with temporary loop stomas to early closure may improve patient well-being. Individualization of the usual approach of reserving patients for long-term stoma care is required, and further study is needed to compare disease-specific closure success.","PeriodicalId":368781,"journal":{"name":"Era's Journal of Medical Research","volume":"21 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-06-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125914685","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Bronchoscopic interventions are often required in emergency to relieve the patient however mechanical percussive chest physiotherapies may be helpful. We discuss a case of a patient who developed respiratory distress rapidly; a chest radiograph revealed right lung atelectasis suggesting acute mucus plugging, confirmed by HRCT thorax. Bedside chest physiotherapy was started along with preparing for bronchoscopy. Clinical improvement was observed. Chest x-ray was repeated before going for bronchoscopy which revealed resolution of collapse hence procedure was not done. Our case illustrates the utility of chest physiotherapy and mucolytics in resolving the lung collapse due to acute mucus plugging in an urgent scenario in high-risk patients with recent history of head and neck surgery","PeriodicalId":368781,"journal":{"name":"Era's Journal of Medical Research","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-06-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116088587","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It was first recognized by Masson et.al in 1946. It is between 25 and 40 times less frequent than the typical seminoma. An older presentation age and a decreased propensity to metastasis are the clinical characteristics that set out spermatocytic seminoma from classical seminoma. Spermatocytic seminoma never arises in any location other than the testis that is unrelated to other varieties of germ cell cancers, in contrast to the typical seminoma, which develops in the extragonadal sites as a primary tumor (where it is known as a germinoma) and typically occurs with other forms of germ cell tumor. It has a better prognosis.. The preferred treatment is orchidectomy. Radiotherapy is not required to be given after it.","PeriodicalId":368781,"journal":{"name":"Era's Journal of Medical Research","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-06-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129700471","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Aging causes many cell and tissue changes that increase disease and death risks.As antioxidative and repair mechanisms decline with age, oxidative damage increases. Numerous research studies indicate that polyphenolic compounds which are present on fruits and vegetables may possess anti-aging, antioxidant and anti-inflammatory characteristics. Fruit colors come from anthocyanins, which suppress lipid peroxidation, cyclo-oxygenase (COX)-1 and -2, and oxidative stress. While aging cannot be reversed, it is possible to delay its progression. The “nourishing of life” acknowledges some traditional Indian herbs and compounds from plant extracts for their anti-aging, antioxidant, and phytotherapeutic characteristics. This includes amla, ashwagandha, tulsi, allicin, Aloe vera, Syzygium cumini (Jamun), Ginkgo biloba, curcumin, and othes. Therefore, it is crucial to gain knowledge of the molecular mechanisms and search for therapeutic effects that can increase lifespan and improve healthspan.","PeriodicalId":368781,"journal":{"name":"Era's Journal of Medical Research","volume":"49 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-06-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129613014","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Despite CPR being critical for survival, the rates of both lay people and professionals performing it continues to drop, especially since the COVID-19 pandemic. There has been a debate about whether mouth-to-mouth ventilation (rescue breathing) is necessary during CPR. Some believe it has been a major obstacle to people's willingness to perform the life-saving technique. This review explores research suggesting that rescue breathing is unnecessary for CPR.","PeriodicalId":368781,"journal":{"name":"Era's Journal of Medical Research","volume":"18 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-06-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131757856","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Saharia, Ausaf Ahmad","doi":"10.24041/ejmr2023.13","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.24041/ejmr2023.13","url":null,"abstract":"Hypopharyngeal cancer (HPC) is a disease in which malignant cancer cells accumulated in the tissues of the hypopharynx. Certain viruses are known to exert a significant impact on hypopharyngeal carcinogenesis; however, numerous other factors thought to influence its tumor proliferation and metastasis. Among numerous factors, Interleukin 10 (IL-10) is a prominent anti-inflammatory agent known to evade the immune system via an immunosuppressive condition. Role of IL-10 in the neoplasm is still debatable and inadequately comprehended, but it is one of the many cytokines involved in the growth and maintenance of cancer. In the present review, we explored and highlighted the dual role of IL-10, its secretion level in HPC sufferers, and its role in metastasis and development. We examined the literature focusing on the research that looked into the IL-10 secretion level in the serum and tissues related to the HPC individuals. The advanced clinical stage of hypopharyngeal neoplasm is on the rise and concurrently associated with IL-10 levels. The existing research on IL-10 related to HPC showed differential effects and hence, no clear inference can be attained. The discrepancies observed could be related to variations in sample selection-plasma, tissue, or serum, and differences in assays, variable stage of cancer, comorbidities etc.Although, the higher likelihood of IL-10 detection linked to more advanced tumor stages does imply that the tumor is at least partially attributable to the IL-10 perturbations. This finding still has to be verified by prospective studies on cancer patients in various stages, but the available data are convincing enough to support a viable working theory.","PeriodicalId":368781,"journal":{"name":"Era's Journal of Medical Research","volume":"44 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-06-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133760896","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Children's daily life now includes screen time starting as early as infancy. Preschoolers exposed to interactive and screen media may benefit in a variety of ways, but excessive or unsuitable screen time may offer health and developmental hazards. The environment, including parents, siblings, and classmates, has a major effect on children's development. More than ever before, children are absorbing video and internet gaming content. Approximately one hour every day is spent engaging with and observing digital screens. Children are interacting with screens more frequently every day as virtual learning approaches are adopted more frequently in classrooms. Even while screen time is a necessary part of life at home and at school, keeping track of how much time your child spends using screens is crucial for their general development. To encourage healthy development in this digital age, In order to promote in-person play and physical exercise among preschoolers, parents and caregivers must endeavor to reduce screen-based activities.","PeriodicalId":368781,"journal":{"name":"Era's Journal of Medical Research","volume":"23 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-06-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125959933","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The development of novel chemicals and technological advancements that will allow the adoption of safer and more efficient therapeutic techniques has received a lot of attention in order to address this problem. In order to maximize tumor growth inhibition and reduce side effects, it has been suggested that combining nanoparticles with well-known anticancer agents including compounds derived from plants, like curcumin is an effective strategy. Curcumin exploits a complex network of molecular signals, including the proliferative, ER, and HER2 pathways, to exert its anticancer actions. According to experimental results, curcumin controls genes associated to cell phase, microRNA, and apoptosis in breast cancer cells.","PeriodicalId":368781,"journal":{"name":"Era's Journal of Medical Research","volume":"34 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-06-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123558522","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
