Around 15% of diabetic patients got affected with diabetic foot lesion during their lifetime (2), this can be associated with poor diabetic control, barefoot walking and lack of education which will complicate diabetes mellitus (3). Despite the efforts of conservative therapy, there will always be a percentage of foot lesions that necessitates hospitalization. In general, the development of diabetic foot lesion is mainly related to local trauma, neuropathy and deformity (4, 5). In India neuropathy (13%-78%), microangiopathy (16%-53%) and diabetic foot lesion are the common complications of diabetes mellitus (6, 7) leading to disability, morbidity and mortality in the patients. Thus the objective of this study was to evaluate the characteristics of diabetic foot lesion in patients of type-2 diabetes of north Karnataka. In addition to paralysis and/or paresis, the lower motor neuron syndrome includes a loss of reflexes (areflexia) due to interruption of the efferent (motor) limb of the sensory motor reflex arcs. Aim was to study the abnormal muscle contraction due to LMN (lower motor neuron) lesion with the help of SD curve patient suffering from Neurapraxia. Objectives was to find Rheobase and Chronaxie values in non-effected side and compare it with effected side of the Patient and identification of kink (if present) in the graph of effected side. A longitudinal study was done on 6 subjects suffering from nerve compression. Sample was collected from bilateral limb Rheobase and Chronaxie were measured at the regions of the Quadriceps, Tibialis Anterior and Deltoid muscle. Subject gone through diagnostic Electrical Stimulation (galvanic current) which produce square wave of various pulse duration ranging from 0.01 to 300 msec. Electrical stimulation used was of constant current type. Result were obtained by applying standard deviation and T test, there is a significant change in the value of Chronaxie in the effected side. P value obtained (p ≤ 0.04). Presence of kink in the SD curve shows the reaction of degeneration in the effected side of the patients. Study showed that the patients suffer from disproportionate muscle excitation and contraction ability. Damage to lower motor neurons also entails a loss of muscle tone, since tone. The muscles involved may also exhibit fibrillations and fasciculation, which are spontaneous twitches characteristic of single denervated muscle fibers or motor units, respectively. In the last century, approximately 121 pharmaceutical products were discovered based on the information obtained from the plants used in Ayurveda, the Indian traditional system of medicine. Phytoconstituents isolated from natural sources have contributed significantly to the development of novel drugs from medicinal plants. Among all medicinal plants, neem (Azadirachta indica) has been widely used in treatment of diseases because it is a rich source of antioxidants. It contains 60 different types of biochemically active components including steroids and terpenoids. Various parts of neem tree are known to possess antifungal, anticancer, antifertility and other biological activities. The present review provides a bird's eye view of the various medicinal properties and therapeutic applications of this important medicinal plant. It has rightly been called as a 'single solution to a thousand problems'. Newer systemic drugs causing ocular side effects are being reported in available literature. Over the years as research in different types of insulin advanced the management of diabetes improved. However there were still many unanswered question pertaining to the use of insulin and its precursors. One such intriguing compound is C-peptide. Recently the role of C-peptide has opened many avenues in the treatment of diabetes. Large number of studies has demonstrated that lack of C-peptide may exacerbate diabetes. In a large group of diabetes the replacement with Cpeptide, lead to marked amelioration of diabetes complications. Research has shown marked improvement in endoneural blood flow with C-peptide replacement. C-peptide previously was considered as an inert molecule, however with the discovery of large number of receptors of C-peptide the action of the hormones has turned out to b enigmatic. Further research is needed to ensure some of the question particularly the therapeutic implication of C-peptide is prevention of diabetes related complications. The aim of this study was to determine the average penile length and investigate the relationship between penile length and somatometric parameters in a group of healthy Nigerian men. A total of 200 healthy men were included in the study. The age, height and weight of the subjects were recorded. Penile length was measure in flaccid state. The correlation between penile length and somatometric parameters was analyzed by Pearson s analysis. The mean age of the subjects was 22.51±2.97 years. The mean penile length in flaccid states was 10.5±0.09cm. There was a weak positive correlation found between penile length and height, weight, and Body mass index respectively (P≤0.001, for all). The penile length must be known to be able to determine the abnormal penile sizes and to make convenient decisions in the counseling and treatment of people with short penis concern. These results demonstrate that somatometric parameters are correlated with penile length. We believe that further studies would provide more information about the casual relationship.
