Thus, the occurrences of common variants in southern Brazil were analyzed in the short stories Trezentas oncas and Melancia - Coco verde from the work Contos gauchescos (1976), by Joao Simoes Lopes Neto, in the light of variationist sociolinguistics and dialectology. The objective is to appreciate how the lexical items cusco, zaino, chiru \u0000and ilheu converge in this type of linguistic variation in comparison with Brazilian Portuguese standard. After reviewing the bibliography on variationist sociolinguistics and dialectology, the most categorical passages were selected in which the four words appear to weave more in-depth reflections, performing the qualitative character of this research. As a \u0000result, we verify the way in which the southern literary language illustrated the dialect in this textual production. \u0000 \u0000 Resumen: \u0000Las variantes diatopicas de nivel lexico presentes en el portugues brasileno estan presentes en todo el territorio. Asi, las ocurrencias de variantes comunes en el sur de Brasil fueron analizadas en los cuentos Trezentas oncas y Melancia - Coco verde de la obra Contos gauchescos (1976), de Joao Simoes Lopes Neto, a la luz de la sociolinguistica y \u0000dialectologia variacionista. El objetivo es apreciar como los items lexicos cusco, zaino, chiru y ilheu convergen en este tipo de variacion linguistica en comparacion con la variacion estandar del portugues brasileno. Tras revisar la bibliografia sobre sociolinguistica y dialectologia variacionista, se seleccionaron los pasajes mas categoricos en los que las cuatro palabras parecen tejer reflexiones mas profundas, realizando el caracter cualitativo de esta investigacion. {"title":"LA ARAUCANA: UN TEXTO QUE GENERA UN CONTEXTO","authors":"B. Subercaseaux","doi":"10.4067/s0719-51762021000100143","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.4067/s0719-51762021000100143","url":null,"abstract":"Resumen: \u0000El articulo examina la recepcion de La Araucana (1568-1590) por patriotas americanos y por figuras de la Independencia de Chile, que leyeron la obra como un documento historico que enaltecia a los araucanos presentandolos como un pueblo heroico e indomable. A partir de esta recepcion se inventa una tradicion que vincula las luchas por la Independencia con la que llevaron a cabo los araucanos contra la Corona espanola. El articulo revisa la recepcion de la obra de Ercilla entre la elite criolla, entre lideres militares e intelectuales de la Patria Vieja (1810-1814) y luego de la batalla de Chacabuco (1817-1828), tambien entre los miembros mas prominentes de la generacion de 1842. Ademas la recepcion que tuvo entre naturalistas y viajeros. Simbolicamente se advierte en estas lecturas una glorificacion idealizada de los araucanos y de sus principales heroes, generandose a partir de ellas un doble discurso, que, por una parte, los glorifica como ancestros libertarios de la nacion, y, por otra, los invisibiliza y maltrata en cuanto sujetos reales con una cultura propia y diferente, planteando con una perspectiva asimilacionista que deben ser civilizados y dejar \u0000de ser lo que son, doble discurso que de alguna manera persiste hasta el dia de hoy. \u0000 \u0000 Abstract: \u0000The article examines the reception of Alonso de Ercilla’s La Araucana (1568-1590), by spanish american patriots and by figures of the Independence of Chile, who read the work as an historical document that exalted the Araucanians by presenting them as a heroic and indomitable people. In regard to this readings, a tradition is invented that links the struggle for independence with the one that the Araucanians faught against the Spanish Crown. The article reviews the reception that Ercilla's work had among military and intellectual leaders during the Patria Vieja (1810-1814) and after the Battle of Chacabuco (1817-1828) Also among the most prominent members of the generation of 1842. En el, se presenta una vision situada sobre perspectivas y enfoques actuales para las aulas plurilingues en Chile y se ofrece una propuesta concreta, sencilla y clara para la implementacion de clases de espanol como lengua extranjera (ELE) en la escuela publica local. Tras integrar la informacion sobre la realidad chilena, las perspectivas internacionales actuales, el papel de la escritura en el desarrollo de la competencia en ELE y el curriculo educacional chileno, se concluye que es importante contextualizar en el plano local las propuestas academicas (generalmente anglosajonas) y que es imprescindible la ensenanza de ELE para los estudiantes no hispanohablantes, si se quiere potenciar realmente la transculturalidad en los establecimientos educacionales publicos. \u0000 \u0000 Abstract: \u0000This article is a selective and critical review of literature on the development of intercultural classrooms in a school context. It presents a situated point of view on current perspectives and approaches for multilingual classrooms in Chile, and offers a concrete, simple and clear proposal for the implementation of classes of Spanish as a foreign language (SFL) in the local public school. Para la recoleccion de datos, se utilizo la tecnica de pares falsos, aproximacion indirecta que encubre parcialmente el fenomeno de estudio. \u0000Entre los resultados mas relevantes, se observa una aceptacion parcial del a y la tendencia desaprobatoria de aquellas realizaciones polemicas seguidas de vocales. \u0000Como conclusion, se plantea la necesidad de estudiar los fenomenos foneticos considerando factores contextuales, ideologicos y sociohistoricos, en tanto que su significado se construye en medio de la actividad social. \u0000 \u0000Abstract: \u0000This quantitative study analized the subjetive evaluations of students of teacher-training programmes about different allophones of /tr/, /r/, /tf/ y /j/. \u0000The sample was comprised of a random selection of students from different teacher-training programmes from a Chilean state university. {"title":"CONTEXTO Y RECORRIDO MIGRATORIO DE EL SALVADOR A ESTADOS UNIDOS EN ODISEA DEL NORTE, DE MARIO BENCASTRO","authors":"J. La ficcion se complementa a traves de diversas notas periodisticas que relacionan la guerra civil en este pais con las motivaciones economicas y politicas que incitan a los salvadorenos a emigrar. Bencastro narra el viaje de Calixto, desde su salida del pais hasta la instalacion en los Estados Unidos, lo que plantea el dificil proceso de integracion y cuestiona el trato que sufren algunos inmigrantes hispanoamericanos en dicho pais. El presente articulo se estructura en torno al analisis de dos elementos de la novela, el primero tiene como eje el viaje, desde sus motivaciones hasta la llegada a destino; destaca la importancia de Mexico, que prefigura los desafios de la situacion migratoria centroamericana contemporanea en este pais. La segunda parte se enfoca en la presencia del discurso periodistico a traves de una serie de notas de prensa en la novela, que aparecen como soporte ficcional que permite abordar y contextualizar un fenomeno que por su valor testimonial sobrepasa la ficcion. \u0000 \u0000 Abstract: \u0000In his novel Odisea del norte (1999) Salvadoran writer, Mario Bencastro, represents the last two decades of the migratory Salvadoran context. Fiction is accompanied by various press articles relating the Salvadoran Civil War with the political and economic reasons encouraging Salvadorans to emigrate. Bencastro narrates Calixto‟s journey from El Salvador to the United States; he also describes his settlement in this country, revealing how difficult is the integration process and the treatment suffered by some Hispanic American migrants. This paper studies two aspects of the novel. Firstly, we analyze the journey; we ponder Calixto‟s reasons to leave El Salvador and the motivations driving him to the United States. We also underline Mexico‟s role that prefigures the contemporary challenges of Central American migration to this country. Secondly, we focus on journalistic discourse and press articles that appear as a support of fiction. Se establece que el folletin contribuye a la narracion melodramatica de las consecuencias de la anarquia y barbarie, producto de la ignorancia del mestizo y del indigena frente al proyecto criollo que valoro, a su modo, la modernizacion europea como modelo y que tiene a Sarmiento como principal promotor. \u0000 \u0000 Abstract: \u0000By making a distinction between the newspaper serial Facundo and the book Civilizacion i barbarie, this work analyzes the role fiction had in the works of Domingo Faustino Sarmiento. The essay establishes the newspaper serial’s contributions to the melodramatic narrative. The narrative of the consequences of anarchy and barbarism is the byproduct of ignoring the Mestizo and the Indigenous vis a vis the Creole Project. Literatura que salta a la vista, provoca y demanda la mirada del publico (lector, espectador) desde una doble visualidad: en tanto imagen (tipo)grafica e imagen encarnada en el lenguaje. Se propone, en definitiva, aportar una nueva arista a la comprension de los mecanismos texto visuales de la Lira, examinando no solo sus reconocibles estampas, sino, y muy especialmente, relevando la palabra plastica y la inventiva visual como clave retorica. \u0000 \u0000ABSTRACT: The following pages present a reading of the Chilean Lira Popular from its particular configuration as a scope, meaning, a singular graphic object that can be observed as constituting a visual experience. This is a literature that jumps into view, provoking and demanding a public gaze (reader and viewer) from a double visuality: it is a (typo)graphic image and an image incarnated in language. Lo anterior mediante la revision de un caso y a partir de la utilizacion de herramientas conceptuales de la historia y la sociologia del lenguaje. Con las primeras se logra establecer la trayectoria historica de la comunidad y con la segunda se traza el curso que tomaron las lenguas en contacto. Se concluye que los mecanismos de colonizacion y las dinamicas sociopoliticas establecidas en el territorio son factores determinantes tanto para la memoria historica como para mantencion y vitalidad del mapuzugun. \u0000 \u0000Abstract \u0000This paper describes the sociolinguistic relationship between Mapuzugun and Spanish in a rural bilingual community in the Araucania Region. The study explores the main communicative scenarios where the linguistic codes in contact are used, and it analyzes the current situation of the Mapuche language in the framework of the territorial-historical and colonialist reconfiguration processes. Se plantea que se trata de escrituras que piensan su propia materialidad y que, al hacerlo, desbordan y reorientan las logicas y las temporalidades desde las que se los fija como archivo de su epoca. Esto lo consiguen elaborando relatos que alteran y desorganizan los regimenes de lo sensible asociados a la primacia de lo humano, creando ensamblajes materiales en los que los flujos que de ellos emergen desdibujan la solidez de las barreras entre lo organico y lo inorganico, entre lo perecible y lo vibratil. Se trata de cuentos que mas que intentar reproducir un itinerario social en terminos abstractos o definitivos, abren interrogantes referidas a las materialidades y a la obsolescencia del medio artistico desde el que se producen a la vez que del presente en el que se insertan. \u0000 \u0000Abstract \u0000This article analyzes the short stories \"La copia\" by Jose Santos Gonzalez Vera and \"Una moneda al rio\" by Nicomedes Guzman by identifying the function of trajectories and displacements present in them. In the act of thinking their own materiality as writing, these stories overflow and reorient the logics and temporalities which fix them as archives within their historic time. They thus alter and disorganize the regimes of the sensible associated with the primacy of the human, in order to create material assemblages that blur the sturdiness of the barriers between the organic and the inorganic, between dead matter and vibrant life. Interesa mostrar el modo de apropiacion del espacio urbano en el mapeo de los barrios Matadero y Mapocho, con especial enfasis en las revueltas populares que consignan ambas novelas. \u0000 \u0000Abstract: \u0000Carlos Sepulveda Leyton’s Hijuna and Nicomedes Guzman´s La Sangre y Esperanza are key novels to understand the reconfiguration of realism in Chile from innovations that, together with making visible marginalized social types, confront the representation of the suburban areas of Santiago.
