Earth observation of the urban environment is therefore essential to keep a watchful eye on their condition. In-situ measurements are also needed to provide details that cannot be easily derived from remotely sensed imagery. Green infrastructure and the ecosystem services they provide play an important role for the wellbeing of city populations and provide resilience against the effects of climate change. EO is essential for mapping the relevant details to produce information on which to base healthy city evolution.","PeriodicalId":36308,"journal":{"name":"AGIT- Journal fur Angewandte Geoinformatik","volume":"74 1","pages":"347-356"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"89838159","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

These Cities not only have to provide goods and services for the daily needs for their residents, it is also important to offer vital vegetation in green spaces. Trees, bushes and ground cover (e. g. shrubs, grass) play an important role regarding urban climate. A sufficient amount of vegetation increases the well-being of the residents. In this study, 30 large cities of the EU countries Germany, France and Poland were examined for their vegetation. In a first step the urban areas were outlined, which was done on the basis of CORINE CLC data. The vegetation was calculated using optical satellite image data from Sentinel-2, all recorded in 2019. The Normalized Differentiated Vegetation Index (NDVI) was applied to that data. Positive NDVI values represent healthy vegetation; they were classified and analyzed into 10 classes. The result is a ranking of urban green vegetation fraction for these regions; the method may be applied as a template for all urban regions in the EU.","PeriodicalId":36308,"journal":{"name":"AGIT- Journal fur Angewandte Geoinformatik","volume":"404 1","pages":"172-182"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"87008610","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Water is one of the essential resources for all plants and absorbs in the shortwave and middle infrared spectrum. It has a major impact on plant growth and prospective yield. Within the framework of this project, a prototype of a photogrammetric measuring system for automated determination of the crop water demand will be developed. The digital imagery recorded by the multispectral camera system is processed and analysed in real-time for an automated irrigation procedure for plants with respect to their sites of growth. This paper explains the functions and the technical structure of this monitoring system.","PeriodicalId":36308,"journal":{"name":"AGIT- Journal fur Angewandte Geoinformatik","volume":"24 1","pages":"146-160"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"84553344","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In our experimental setup, we mount a low-cost particulate matter (PM) sensor on a car in order to measure pm and use a dashcam to count vehicles driving in front of the car equipped with the sensor. Small particulate matter (measured as PM1 and PM2.5) emerges partly because vehicles whirl up the dust that is located on the pavement of streets. This case study shows correlations between measured PM1 and PM2.5 values and the number of cars in front of our testing vehicle.","PeriodicalId":36308,"journal":{"name":"AGIT- Journal fur Angewandte Geoinformatik","volume":"30 1","pages":"290-295"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"84373964","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

To obtain this information, an interdisciplinary methodology was developed and exemplarily applied in the Salzburg area. The design-sociological investigation includes a survey based on the qualitative insights from expert interviews and creative workshops: The data from over a thousand participants served to identify clusters with distinctive behavioural patterns, which were described and illustrated as “cycling types” and completed by information on their spatial distribution. The four clusters are to be understood as stylised models. The central working hypothesis was that cyclists are a heterogeneous community which can be identified more clearly as such by means of typologisation. Thus, in an application test it was examined whether the types facilitate the understanding of different cycling-related attitudes.","PeriodicalId":36308,"journal":{"name":"AGIT- Journal fur Angewandte Geoinformatik","volume":"57 1","pages":"244-254"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"72682437","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Recent harmonization of basic data sets of the Geological and Soil Survey of the Landesamt für Geologie, Rohstoffe und Bergbau Baden-Württemberg now enables a model-based derivation of data in generalized form for different target scales and purposes. A particular challenge is the implementation with existing functionality from available GI-software. The corresponding procedures and methods were reviewed and a solution approach has been developed. In this work, a practical process framework based on the FME-software was created using data from bedrock geology. The procedure was based on a hybrid solution approach, consisting of vectorand raster-based processing. A fully automated procedure for the generalization of model-based categorical data was developed, based on the implementation of generic vector transformers and the integration of the raster-based method of a cellular automaton. The process requires a hierarchical structure of the input data. That enables a semantic aggregation and includes the consideration of further thematic aspects by means of a dataspecific attribute enrichment.","PeriodicalId":36308,"journal":{"name":"AGIT- Journal fur Angewandte Geoinformatik","volume":"1 1","pages":"23-36"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"84552077","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This feasibility study investigates the possibility of a non-intrusive detection of surface flow patterns near a fish ladder in an Alpine river. The newly developed method concept involves the use of high-resolution drone based videos and the optical analysis method “Particle Image Velocimetry” (PIV). The flow patterns calculated with PIV are in good agreement with the hydraulic reference measurements, which were performed with the help of a propeller current meter. The results of this feasibility study can be seen as a first step towards the creation of an efficient and standardized methodology for flow analysis in the vicinity of fish ladders.","PeriodicalId":36308,"journal":{"name":"AGIT- Journal fur Angewandte Geoinformatik","volume":"88 1","pages":"206-216"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"75412915","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Efforts to make machinereadable timetable information available in the open GTFS format as OpenData offer new possibilities. The integration of these data into geographical information systems provides the basis for spatial analyses in the field of accessibility and thus the possibility to generate valid accessibility indicators for public transport. This paper discusses examples of first implementations of common indicators, such as travel time budget indicators and gravity based indicators, and shows potentials of enhancing these indicators by incorporating a “probability dimension”.","PeriodicalId":36308,"journal":{"name":"AGIT- Journal fur Angewandte Geoinformatik","volume":"2 1","pages":"316-329"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"79351035","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
