Hence, a further growth of flood consequences is to be expected. The reason is either, higher flood damage caused by the higher exposure or the rising effort to avoid and to mitigate the negative consequences. Damage and risk analysis often focus on the built environment because of its value dimension and its resulting high potential flood losses. In this context, damage to arable crops are rarely included and almost solely by rough estimates. The reason is the difficulties to assess appropriate values especially the seasonal and annual changes. To fill the gap, the paper presents a new approach for a detailed analysis of damage to arable crops considering the vulnerability of different crop types and the seasonal crop growth. It results in a wide range of applications including the use for the evaluation of compensation payments. In cooperation with the responsible authorities, this may be of particular interest for dike relocations and the flooding of flood polders.","PeriodicalId":36308,"journal":{"name":"AGIT- Journal fur Angewandte Geoinformatik","volume":"127 6 1","pages":"183-194"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"79742186","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The argument is that the rise of digital geomedia as a cultural technique for multimedia-based communication of geographical knowledge causes altered educational requirements. Thus, there is a need for new digital concepts of teaching and learning in schools and in the field of geography teacher education as well. Besides technical skills and data literacy, competences of argumentation, reflection, and participation become crucial for empowering people for a critical use of media environments related to geospatial computing in society.","PeriodicalId":36308,"journal":{"name":"AGIT- Journal fur Angewandte Geoinformatik","volume":"17 1","pages":"114-125"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"87173326","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Their locations within the Prignitz region, a north-eastern German landscape, have hardly been assessed and are still insufficiently researched. Although in the past numerous historic objects have been identified with the help of airborne laser scanning technology a systematic approach of LiDAR data analysis for this matter still remains at a relatively early stage. Therefore, this paper presents results of a semi-automated method for the relict based on a high-resolution digital elevation model.","PeriodicalId":36308,"journal":{"name":"AGIT- Journal fur Angewandte Geoinformatik","volume":"168 1","pages":"60-72"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"73879897","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Subsequently, the basic possibilities of an integration of simulation methodology and the treatment of dynamics in space and time in a geographical space are analysed on both methodological and software levels. However, a generally valid recommendation for a certain SW system is not possible. Rather, the article ends with three requirement complexes whose implementation could simplify the problem-related handling of spatial simulation tasks and also make them manageable for persons in the field of application.","PeriodicalId":36308,"journal":{"name":"AGIT- Journal fur Angewandte Geoinformatik","volume":"3 1","pages":"49-59"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"74459600","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Often, only outdated plans are available for restoration planning, and creating new CAD plans would be costly and time-consuming. This paper uses a concrete example to show how laser scan data can be quickly – and efficiently – used to create an exact as-built plan, especially for large buildings. The aim of the cooperation between RIEGL Laser Measurement Systems as a manufacturer of laser scan systems and EKG Baukultur as a service provider and user of laser scanners was to survey Schloss Eckartsau in Lower Austria. The acquisition of the scan data took place in a combination of terrestrial and UAV-based laser scanning.","PeriodicalId":36308,"journal":{"name":"AGIT- Journal fur Angewandte Geoinformatik","volume":"17 1","pages":"338-347"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"73611698","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Resulting datasets tend to be big and heterogeneous, which challenges researchers when investigating them. We state that using star plot maps can be a solution for visualizing multi-variate sensor datasets. In our case study, we generate a dataset on the campus of the University of Augsburg, Germany. After processing the data, we create a star plot map of the study area showing multiple parameters. Findings indicate a good suitability of star plot maps for visualizing multi-variate sensor datasets.","PeriodicalId":36308,"journal":{"name":"AGIT- Journal fur Angewandte Geoinformatik","volume":"18 1","pages":"383-394"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"89535531","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In addition to orographic, geologic, soiland land-based triggers, extreme precipitation is a climate-induced trigger that can affect the strength and frequency of landslide events. Here we investigate current and future extreme precipitation events in two study areas in Austria; in Waidhofen an der Ybbs north; and in Paldau south of the Alpine main ridge; to detect possible changes in landslide risk due to climate change. The comparison of the number of extreme precipitation events in recent decades and the number of potential events in the decades to come, extracted from future climate scenarios, shows a moderate to significant increase in the number of extreme rainfall events in both study regions.","PeriodicalId":36308,"journal":{"name":"AGIT- Journal fur Angewandte Geoinformatik","volume":"41 1","pages":"368-382"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"90831411","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
