{"title":"POLITIK ATAS NAMA ALLAH","authors":"Mathias Daven","doi":"10.31385/JL.V18I1.162.22-60","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.31385/JL.V18I1.162.22-60","url":null,"abstract":"<p><strong>Abstract:</strong> Islamism has all of the characteristics of other secular<br />ideologies, such as the faith that it has and offers the one and only<br />absolute truth and thus claims that it reserves the right to impose<br />law which must be obeyed by the society. Its ideological thought<br />which can endanger peace is that political views are considered<br />to be truth. On this basis, the society tends to be mapped out<br />according to the right/wrong schema and therefore the owners<br />of truth feel legitimized to disregard and oppress groups which<br />they consider wrong. This has a serious consequence for realistic<br />understanding of what politics is. One typical, main characteristic<br />of an ideological thought is that obliterating enemies is considered<br />as an essential part of political duties, which is a principle to watch<br />out for. Politics is not theory but praxis (action) and hence there<br />is no absoluteness. Consequently, there are always pro and contra,<br />the need for consideration, and the possibility of compromises. In<br />all political process, there would be the winner and loser, but there<br />would be no right and wrong. It is one of the main thorny<br />sources of social conflicts in almost every village. There have<br />been a hot-witch hunts at many regions of the islands. Numerous<br />witches or sorcerers caught red-handed practicing it were tried<br />according customary laws of the villagers and then killed publicly.<br />This article also presents that a number of paranormals can prove<br />the existence of the sorcery practices. The mediums used by the<br />perpetrators can be detected. These mediums were claimed to<br />emit a kind of toxic gas which is thought to cause the victim to<br />get sick and die. This is based upon the uniqueness of the Triune God \u0000who is relational. “Normal” people have self control, can decide \u0000and make personal choices. They can stand on their own two \u0000feet, and they are not dependent on others. The individuality \u0000or personality of a disabled person is often reduced because \u0000the disabled person is regarded as one who cannot do “normal” \u0000activities without assistance. The main thesis \u0000of this article is that Moltmann’s view of personal eschatology is \u0000more relevant and applicable to the Christian life here and now. \u0000At the end of this article, the author will give two applications of \u0000Moltmann’s doctrine of personal eschatology. First, Moltmann’s \u0000view of personal eschatology motivates Christians, that they \u0000must live their lives in love, hope, and faith, for they already have \u0000been resurrected and given eternal life, here and now. Systematic theology studies the \u0000relationship between God and humanity in light of revelation \u0000and faith. Using an eschatological \u0000approach and a study of the document Sacrosanctum Concilium \u0000regarding liturgy, two important messages have been identified in \u0000those works. First, solidarity is an effort to share. This virtue is \u0000primarily seen in the attitude of God who left His/Her grandeur \u0000and took on the form of a human being. Second, the act of giving \u0000as a form of solidarity comes from an awareness of the missionary \u0000aspect of the vocation of the faithful. Via the artistic works of \u0000two local artists, the faithful are helped to consider and idealise \u0000the eschatological eucharist. Kebajikan ini pertama-tama tampak \u0000dalam sikap Allah yang memutuskan untuk meninggalkan \u0000keagungan-Nya dan mengambil rupa manusia. This paper is thus not intended to make a generalisation \u0000about ‘Islamic eschatology’ as if there were only one type of Islam \u0000with a single understanding of eschatology. Most Indonesian \u0000Muslims are of Sunni type of Islam, and may not share the \u0000viewpoint of Shia at all concerning eschatology. It is also a need. We encounter such a need in numerous traditions and cultures, including in postmodern societies. In the Hode Ilu ritual, the people of the Lewoingu domain of Eastern Flores (Kabupaten Flores Timur, NTT), express the inseparableness of cosmic reality (humans and their world) with transcendent reality. They experience nature as numinus with supernatural power. This power enables people to submit in awe and act out the heritage of the ancestors in an artistic performance expressing people’s relationship with others, nature, oneself, and with the Divine. This ritual performance is called “artistic” because it is a self expression of the community through ritual that emphasises a fundamental cosmic harmony which is both religious (transcendent) and ethical (in the here and now). When the tradition expresses a form of faith in the transcendent in ritual, then the sharing of human experiences, including relationships of people with the Transcendent, with the cosmos, with others, and with oneself, is not wrong.
