Vučelj","doi":"10.46630/phm.15.2023.02","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.46630/phm.15.2023.02","url":null,"abstract":"Cet article se propose de réexaminer l’esprit du Siècle philosophique français par rapport à l’esprit des Lumières à l’étranger, mais aussi par rapport à l’esprit humaniste du XVIe siècle et à l’esprit classique du XVIIe siècle. Pour ce dessein, la présente recherche se réfère aux théories philosophiques, historiques et littéraires des auteurs anciens et actuels. Alors que dans la Première République des Lettres, à l’époque de la Renaissance, le cercle restreint des humanistes, au prétendu visage chrétien, fut apolitique et sans une vision historique du monde, dans la Seconde République des Lettres, au siècle des Lumières, les philosophes soignèrent la croyance dans le progrès de l’humanité et ils s’adressèrent à un large public bourgeois dans le dessein de l’éclairer. À la différence des philosophes de l’Englightenment britannique et de l’Aufklärung germanique, qui furent reconnus dans leurs pays, les philosophes des Lumières françaises furent persécutés sous le règne de Louis XV. Dans ce contexte, les encyclopédistes, voire les philosophes français, furent les maquisards des Lumières qui luttaient contre l’absolutisme monarchique et l’intolérance religieuse. Thus, it is very interesting to see which values are rooted in common proverbs in different languages. Having in mind that beliefs and values can be recognized in all forms of linguistic communication (DOMINGUEZ BARAJAS 2010: 50), and that proverbs are based on oral tradition, with a very specific way in which they are being transferred from generation to generation (RASUL 2015: 55), they can tell us a lot about the way a society is influenced by the language it uses and vice versa. Considering the fact that the Greek and the Serbian society are, broadly speaking, built on similar, traditional and patriarchal foundations, a comparative analysis of linguistic features can be very insightful. The present study presents the findings of a corpus analysis of Greek and Serbian proverbs found in different online bases and dictionaries. We investigate the representation of women from the perspective of negative vs. positive representation, as well as the most common associations which accompany them. Бабић","doi":"10.46630/phm.15.2023.34","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.46630/phm.15.2023.34","url":null,"abstract":"In this paper, we deal with construction kommer (att) + infinitive as one of the periphrastic means of expressing future predications in Modern Swedish. Aiming to investigate the construction’s modal meanings, we analyze nearly three hundred Swedish sentences with kommer (att) + infinitive as a future construction, focusing in particular on their basic syntactic-semantic features such as animacy of the subject and speaker’s involvement in, and control over a predication. Our initial investigation confirms that predictability stands out as a predominant modal meaning of kommer (att) + infinitive. Further investigation shows that there are cases in which kommer (att) + infinitive indicates speaker’s plans and intentions, and brings out intentionality as the main modal feature of a statement. We conclude our investigation with cases where modal meanings of kommer (att) + infinitive can be regarded as tending toward non-existent (“zero” modality). Блатешић","doi":"10.46630/phm.15.2023.30","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.46630/phm.15.2023.30","url":null,"abstract":"In this paper, we have referred to the theory of translation in a broader sense, but we have paid special attention to the translation of idioms, which due to its unique form and meaning is not easy to translate into another language. The basic material for this work consists of Italian phraseological expressions which include nouns that can denote residential, but also architectural objects of other purposes (negozio/ shop, chiesa/ church, museo/ museum, etc.). We have also included in the research phrases in which one of the components denotes separate spaces of the mentioned buildings, as well as certain elements that are part of their constructions. We have excerpted phraseological expressions from several monolingual and bilingual, both general and phraseological dictionaries. The paper focuses on the comparison of their language structures in the original (Italian) and target (Serbian) language, the issue of equivalence, possible untranslatability, as well as the inevitable socio-cultural impact during the transfer from one language to another. Новаковић","doi":"10.46630/phm.15.2023.38","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.46630/phm.15.2023.38","url":null,"abstract":"The subject of this paper is the analysis of errors made in tests from Libya during the intermediate course of Serbian (realized in 1981 at the People’s University in Kruševac). This paper aims to identify and classify the most common mistakes of Arabic speakers when learning Serbian. The research material consisted of twenty-eight tests, which the students solved after the first ten lessons. We used a descriptive method, the method of theoretical analysis with the technique of analysis of archival content and the contrastive method analysis. Statistical analysis of students’ answers showed that out of a total of 420, as many as 338 answers (80.48%) were partially correct, 27 answers (6.43%) correct, 4 answers (0.95%) incorrect, while students did not give 51 answers (12.14%). The students made the most mistakes at the morphological level (197), then at the orthographic level (110) and, of course, at the syntactic level (35).
