This study uses a quantitative research design with correlational methods. Data analysis used multiple correlation techniques. The population in this study amounted to 116 students who were taken by simple random sampling technique. Data collection tools in the form of peer conformity questionnaire, religiosity questionnaire, and juvenile delinquency questionnaire. The results showed that there was a significant positive relationship between peer conformity to juvenile delinquency, and there was a significant negative relationship between religiosity and juvenile delinquency at State High School 8 Bengkulu City. This means that the higher the conformity of peers, the higher the juvenile delinquency, and the lower the religiosity, the higher the juvenile delinquency. The value of determination (R) of 0.546 means that the relationship level is low. The value (R_square) of 0.298 can be interpreted that peer conformity and religiosity together provide an effective contribution of 29.8% to juvenile delinquency while the remaining 70.2% is influenced by other factors. It can be concluded that there is a correlation between peer conformity and the level of religiosity on juvenile delinquency.","PeriodicalId":312912,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the 5th International Conference on Learning Innovation and Quality Education","volume":"16 2","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-09-04","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132285694","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The research uses descriptive qualitative method. The data are collected using direct observation, interview, and documentary study techniques. The data sources include teachers, students, and documents contained in some senior high schools in Singkawang City. The data validity are tested using triangulation methods, member checks, and extending the research time. The data are analyzed using descriptive qualitative technique with an interactive model proposed by [1], which includes data collection, data condensation, data presentation, and conclusions. Based on the findings, the implementation of speaking learning viewed from behavioral factors in Singkawang City high schools shows that most students have not been actively involved in the learning process, so that the learning process is monotonous. From the personal factors, most of the students are shy and nervous. Then, from the environmental factor, the implementation of speaking learning is disrupted by passive interaction between teachers and students. The method application is still not supported by proper techniques or tactics in teaching. Besides, the teachers do not use latest technology and still rely on writing on blackboards so that most students are less focused on the materials delivery.","PeriodicalId":312912,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the 5th International Conference on Learning Innovation and Quality Education","volume":"110 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-09-04","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116824255","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Thus, education must be oriented towards mathematics and natural sciences accompanied by social and human sciences. Therefore, this study aims to describe the empowerment of critical thinking skills through a problem-based learning model viewed from the epigenetic aspect. This research employed library research. In this study, data collection was obtained from news, articles in journals, and relevant books. The analysis was carried out in four stages: 1) data collection, 2) data reduction, 3) data display, and 4) conclusion. This study's results revealed that learning needs to pay attention to nature and nurture because it dramatically affects the mastery of thinking skills, and bridging the two things in learning will be a challenge for science teachers in the future. The problem-based learning model can be utilized as a natural science learning model that can empower critical thinking skills from an epigenetic perspective. It can be concluded that the cellular and molecular mechanisms of learning and memory have long been a major focus of neurology and molecular biology, a concern regarding the epigenetic mechanisms behind dynamic changes in the transcription of genes responsible for memory formation and maintenance.","PeriodicalId":312912,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the 5th International Conference on Learning Innovation and Quality Education","volume":"6 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-09-04","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128243633","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
