Overviewed Baltic States cosmetics industry market and trends. The study focused on the success factors of new product development and market launch processes in the cosmetics industry. The aim was to identify and analyze the success factors of cosmetic product development and market launch processes and to provide a solution model. Identified factors prevailing in the development and launch of new products in the cosmetics industry sector and the connections between them. Investigated the influence of these factors on the success of new products in the market. The paper presents the results of a survey of companies in the Baltic cosmetics industry. Vitta","doi":"10.3846/mla.2022.17258","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.3846/mla.2022.17258","url":null,"abstract":"One of the conditions for safe and comfortable driving on roads is a surface that is reflective and clearly visible at night. The luminance of a road surface depends on the amount of light falling on it and the reflectance properties of the road surface at any point. The reflectance of a road surface depends on its physical condition, age and type, the direction of lighting, and the conditions of observation. Different road surfaces may have various reflectance characteristics depending on the surface texture, materiality and binder. Experimental studies were performed on cement concrete modular pavement slabs that differ in color and texture of the surface. The analysis of the research results showed the differences between the reflective luminance characteristics of the surface of cement concrete modular pavement, taking into account the color of the coating, the texture properties of the coating surface and surface conditions. In the case of wet or damp concrete modular coatings, the reduced luminosity coefficient is about 60 percent lower than in dry ones. The reduced luminance coefficient of the light gray coating is about 38 percent higher than that of the darker shade coating (red and dark gray). For this reason, it is very important to increase the energy efficiency of buildings, as the building sector is one of the biggest energy consumers with an impact on the still untapped potential for energy savings. Although buildings are constructed and certified as energy efficient, their in-use consumption is often significantly higher than expected. Especially significant in energy consumption between design and actual consumption are found in office buildings. The higher energy consumption is due to factors related to the design and operation phases. Researchers often emphasize the management of a building’s engineering systems as one of the key factors influencing a building’s energy consumption. The article analyses the existing office building and evaluates the efficiency of its energy using systems’ management based on long-term monitoring data. After identifying which systems are managed inefficiently, several management strategies have been proposed and evaluated. Access to public transport services in rural areas further away from the main transport routes is limited. This leads to social and regional exclusion, which has a negative long-term impact on the communities life. In many rural areas, the population is scattered, therefore, public transport services in such areas are economically unviable. It is not beneficial for public transport operators to organize public transport routes to places where demand is lower. As a result, both public transport passengers flows and given financing are uneven. The aim of this article is to analyze the problem of inequality of public transport services in Lithuanian municipalities based on the collected data. To achieve this aim, the review analysis research method is used in this article. The water supply network of Aleksotas–Narsiečiai–Mastaičiai–Garliava and surrounding areas is analysed. The absence of hydraulic modelling information system hampers the ability to deal promptly with day-to-day problems, plan repairs and reconstructions of water supply networks, or to analyse further developments and their impact on the system. For the first time, the hydraulic model of the system is being developed for the territory of Kaunas City Municipality in order to simulate the real operation of the system with minimal deviations. {"title":"RESEARCH OF TECHNOLOGICAL POSSIBILITIES OF HEAT PUMPS’ APPLICATION IN DISTRICT HEATING OF RESIDENTIAL BUILDINGS","authors":"A. Rogoža, V. Misevičiūtė","doi":"10.3846/mla.2022.17224","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.3846/mla.2022.17224","url":null,"abstract":"The main users of district heating (DH) systems are multi-apartment buildings – 53% of these buildings in Lithuania are supplied with heat from DH systems. Heating systems in buildings are the largest final consumer of energy, accounting for almost half of total energy consumption in many European countries. One of the measures planned for the Lithuanian energy policy in the heat sector of renewable energy sources (RES) until 2030 is the installation of heat pumps (HP) in the DH networks. The purpose of the study is to evaluate the technological possibilities of integrating HP into existing buildings to evaluate the low temperature heat supply. To evaluate the potential temperature lowering of the building heating system, a graph of the lowest possible building heating system temperatures is set, according to which the heat pump for the heating substation is selected, which would raise the temperature of the heat carrier supplied from DH networks to the required temperature for the heating and hot water systems of the building. Applying thermodynamic analysis, a mathematical model is developed that evaluates the ability of the HP to raise the temperature of the supplied heat carrier at the heat substation and determines the energy efficiency of such a solution. During the simulation, two alternatives of constant (regardless of outdoor air temperature) heat carrier temperatures supplied from DH networks were considered: 60 °C (alternative A) and 55 °C (alternative B). Due to the pandemic situation, the increased public attention to their health and the population awareness of environmental pollution, there is a need to adapt the “Park and Ride” sites to a wider range of users – cyclists, pedestrians, electric car drivers. For this reason waste management skills in landfills have to be revised, otherwise the magnitude of ozone layer will decrease even more and the global warming consequences will get more obviously on the environmental scale. The resent situation on waste disposal and GHGs from European Union landfills were analyzed in this article. According to survey made in one Lithuanian landfill, the average amount of municipal biodegradable waste is 58%. The research study describes current GHGs emissions quantitative analysis from five laboratory scale municipal solid waste landfill models with different conditions. Conditions in all columns were differed by changing the inlet and outlet flows of air, water/leachate, and probiotics. The object of research is the accumulation of hydrogen sulfide (H2S) and oxygen (O2) from municipal solid waste landfill models. After analysis and assessment of emitted GHG’s from the municipal solid waste landfill models, the landfill model with the lowest emissions was identified. The study is performed using the dynamic energy modelling program DesignBuilder. The created dynamic energy model is based on the documentation of an actual administrative building and the data recorded by the building management system. The developed model changes the operating modes and parameters of the components of microclimate systems. After the changes, simulations are performed to obtain new results for the building’s energy needs. These results are compared, and the impact of different parameters on energy consumption is analyzed. The developed cumulonimbus cloud mapping simulator allowed the study to be performed by performing simulations with a flight control simulator. This allowed an assessment of how the air traffic controller makes decisions when cumulonimbus is displayed and when it is not. The benefits of cumulonimbus imaging for aircraft trajectories and flight time were also assessed.
