Consumers are faced with the unexpected task of choosing between multiple retailers simultaneously and forming a relatively short-term relationship with them called loyalty. The importance of retailing in the pharmaceutical sector needs to be understood from a managerial perspective, as it shares common characteristics with any commercial activity (demographic data, competitive advantage, service quality, pharmacy or pharmaceutical chain reputation), but also has specific peculiarities related to the pharmaceutical retail area, such as specific regulations regarding drug pricing policies, contracts with Health Insurance Houses, specific legislation regarding online commerce, pharmaceutical product delivery, and returns. All these variables uniquely influence the loyalty process within the pharmaceutical market. This study aims to provide a quantitative analysis based on a questionnaire of the main factors that can impact, to a greater or lesser extent, loyalty to a pharmacy. The questionnaire was completed by 387 people from both urban and rural areas. To efficiently analyze the data, internal consistency of the measurement scale for each variable was initially evaluated checking whether the Cronbach Alpha coefficient is greater or less than 0.7 for each variable, then the independent variables on gender, age, background, and income were analyzed, Subsequently, several tests were used to establish the relationship between loyalty and other variables: Pearson Chi-Square, T-test for independent samples, regression analysis, bivariate analysis, etc. The results showed that to increase pharmacy satisfaction and customers, senior management needs to focus more on improving service quality and diversification and not so much on promoting pricing strategies or pharmacy reputation. Badulescu","doi":"10.24818/imc/2023/03.01","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.24818/imc/2023/03.01","url":null,"abstract":"Although economic theory has not fully agreed whether the growth and consolidation of the SME sector causes, or is a result of economic growth, there are consistent arguments that certain characteristics of the business environment can positively influence the entrepreneurial business sector, enhancing its contribution to economic growth, employment and innovation. In the process of economic integration, the European Union (EU) recognizes the importance of SMEs for economic development, and supports this sector through numerous policies, funds and strategies to create a friendly business environment, enabling them to perform at the highest standards. As a member of the EU since 2007, Romania has made significant efforts to adjust its policies and strategies to the single market, to create a better framework for starting and developing new businesses, facilitating companies’ access to financial and human resources, to market opportunities and internationalization. In this paper, by using a series of data from various business surveys and statistics, we attempt to identify a relation between the dynamics of the SME sector and the quality of the business environment (reducing bureaucracy and administrative burden, business freedom etc.). The rate of growth in the number of tourists has accelerated over the last ten years thanks to the flexibility of travelling modalities, the openness to tourism of many countries and, last but not least, the emergence of collaborative tourism, which is a worthwhile alternative to classic tourism. The coronavirus pandemic (COVID-19), which broke out in February 2020, has had a disastrous impact on the entire tourism industry. Due to this pandemic, domestic and international travel has been disrupted enough to have an immediate and fundamental impact on tourism and all related activities. The pandemic has changed the way people manifest themselves and paved the way for trends such as contactless technology, working from home, high standards of hygiene, domestic travel, and holidays with a small number of people. As a result, the trends already existing in the market before the outbreak of the pandemic, which were reshaping the idea of tourism, have been reinforced even more now. These include digitalization, durable and sustainable consumption, a growing demand for travel booked through platforms and, last but not least, the desire for personalized and original experiences. Sustainability is one of the main objectives on the UN 2030 Agenda as such, organizations’ efforts are directed into accomplish it. The impact of these measures seeks to protect the biological environment in which society lives, therefore the competitive economic environment. To make this possible, a set of rules is needed, which are either represented by legislative packages or by a specific fiscal system, applicable to the areas of interest. As a result, a financial incentive is needed to protect the environment. Taken as a whole, companies on the free market are competing through the lens of profit most of the time. The opportunity cost of ESG impact is this environment. A company's finances are mirrored with the benefits or costs generated by new ways of working. In order for organizations to be encouraged to change the paradigm, it is necessary that the lack of compliance with the legislation leads to a higher opportunity cost and therefore to higher costs. Companies are starting to pay more attention to the financial area on the ESG side. One of the main reasons is fines as a disincentive. On the other hand, as a set of rewards are tax exemptions to steer organizations towards the desired approach. Thus, the production of energy under its own regime or participation in specialized companies through financial contribution exempts the economic agent from certain taxes. Reducing waste by recovering packaging or quantities of plastic bootles exempts companies in the retail sector from fines. In order to be able to operate in this way on the market, it is necessary to change the traditional financial management. If new operating barriers appeared on the market, but applied uniformly, then the costs of operating on the market for economic agents did not become higher. It is well known that most organizations that opt for change management face various challenges during this very expensive process but also the fact that mechanisms of human brain have developed over thousands of years and the speed with which they have evolved is lower than how fast current technologies are developing to create a competitive business environment across the planet. This paper examines how organizations can be focused through theories of evolutionary psychology to support organizational change, whether training employees before or during organizational change is favorable in reducing resistance to change, and whether effective communication aims to improve employee confidence in perceived justice through neuroscience will lead to the successful implementation of change. A quantitative research approach was carried out by using a descriptive and exploratory questionnaire including 44 questions, collecting data from 212 participants, who activate in companies from Romania that have gone through organizational change projects, distributed to subjects through an online platform. This study aims to investigate how knowledge transfer affects a firm's ability to remain competitive. Effective resource flow management is essential for businesses to thrive in a cutthroat business climate. Despite the nature of knowledge being transferred, it is critical to the effective operation of SMEs. The fact that it can give organizations a competitive edge over a range of skills and knowledge lends trust to this assertion, as it can improve the innovative performance of new products made by companies involved in these kinds of knowledge-based collaborations. The purpose of this paper is to shed light on knowledge transfer and innovation in SME activities. By lowering the expense of acquiring the knowledge necessary to become competitive, SMEs can encourage the chance and incentive to exchange expertise during integration into clusters. Higher education institutions may be more proactive in helping SMEs manage environmental challenges by giving them relevant information and knowledge hubs to increase the competitiveness and sustainability of businesses.
