Therefore, the problem of the parametric identification of the vessel mathematical model is very important (Moiseev, 1979), (Udin and Pashentsev, 2006). In this article the authors propose one of the approaches to solving this problem with the help of the mathematical apparatus of the variational calculus.","PeriodicalId":278094,"journal":{"name":"KMI International Journal of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries","volume":"79 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126183139","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The changing distribution of vessel calls at and between Northeast Asian ports reveals important shifts of maritime connectivity over time, from the emergence of Japan as the dominant player in the region to a present-day more complex pattern with Hong Kong, Busan, and Shanghai as the major hubs. The analysis also underlines the uneven importance of domestic, intraregional, and extraregional flows as well as the existence of localized, peripheral subnetworks including small and medium-sized ports.","PeriodicalId":278094,"journal":{"name":"KMI International Journal of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121936526","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This comment paper provides a better understanding about what will be logistical challenges in the future and how the future logistics industry will be reshaped by these challenges. The future logistics market is expected to offer great benefits for the society, for industry, for each logistics service provider, for all stakeholders, and ultimately for shippers. In the future, the logistics industry needs to design for additional parameters such as carbon emission reduction, reduced fuel consumption, lower traffic congestion, higher visibility on the cargo and information, enhanced collaboration, shared physical distribution, identifying sourcing issues, and increased logistics innovation.","PeriodicalId":278094,"journal":{"name":"KMI International Journal of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries","volume":"47 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129720072","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Especially, Mokpo Maritime University has been carrying out a ship familiarization using two training ships since 2006 and students join the program from freshmen. In this paper, we set three hypotheses and made a questionnaire including variables for verification through literature study and interview with experts. We carried out a survey to students of Mokpo Maritime University who participated in SFP(Ship Familiarization Program) in 2014. Also we analyzed data by statistical method. As a result, we extracted 18 questions and categorized 5 factors that administration, contents, instructors, facilities, and education effects of SFP. We found out the relationship between factors for students’ education satisfaction and career awareness such as onboard training at junior, job recruiting. We found out the key factors that facilities and education effects of SFP that is a influence on satisfaction of education and plans after graduation by statistical analysis.","PeriodicalId":278094,"journal":{"name":"KMI International Journal of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries","volume":"43 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-06-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114411714","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Catch records have been changed dramatically since commercial fisheries begun in the early 20th century: the highest catch in 1930s, sudden decrease during 1940s~1960s, another boom in 1970s~1980s, and a continuous decrease in 1990s until they collapsed completely in 2000s. Three plausible hypotheses were introduced for such collapse: overfishing on pollock in high biomass period, warming of seawater, and changes in ecosystem structure and function. Those hypotheses reviewed would give us clues how Korean pollock population survive in ecosystem, and such theoretical backgrounds should be the basis for the establishment of conservation measures with precautionary concept when pollock return to Korean waters again. Intensive interdisciplinary collaboration between South and North Korea is recommended for predicting their re-visiting and for better management under changing environment.","PeriodicalId":278094,"journal":{"name":"KMI International Journal of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-06-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121124950","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Unclear prospects for ice melting tempo and drop in hydrocarbon prices objectively slow down the aspirations of all actors and give Arctic the time for a necessary break. Northern Sea Route is critically important for Russia strategically, it is vital for maintaining livelihoods of two million Russians living and working in the North. No economic enterprise in Russian Arctic sector will be successful without maritime transportation support. Complex additional efforts are needed to create a safe and profitable maritime transit system in the Arctic connecting Europe with North–Eastern Asia. The Eastern sector of the Northern Sea Route is less developed and more challenging but providing attractive prospects for domestic and foreign business. A step by step approach, selection of optimal projects best suiting investors, authorities and local communities would be an appropriate way to start profitable business projects there.","PeriodicalId":278094,"journal":{"name":"KMI International Journal of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries","volume":"32 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-06-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131841350","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Although both parties have taken liberal position in maritime sector in the international negotiations such as GATS, WTO-DDA, and TISA, Korea undertook commitment of 11 sub-sectors in maritime industry in Korea-Turkey FTA; Turkey 4 sub-sectors including passenger transportation, freight transportation, ship maintenance and management, rental of vessels. Therefore Korean related businesses obtained additional legal base for entering into maritime trade, chartering business, ship maintenance and management and cruise in the Mediterranean, the Black Sea and the Middle East. In addition, Turkish shipping companies can use potential of new business in North-east Asia and the Black Sea regions. Analysing each commitment schedule of maritime services of both countries in GATS, WTO-DDA and Korea-Turkey FTA, the present paper tries to find mutually benefitting points in which both parties can enjoy the fruits of FTA in maritime services. The present paper suggests some collaborative agendas of the maritime industry between the two countries under Korea -Turkey FTA, covering a joint venture of shipping for project cargoes between Asia and the Black Sea.","PeriodicalId":278094,"journal":{"name":"KMI International Journal of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries","volume":"112 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114904357","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

With the strong support of exploratory factor analysis (EFA) and structural equation modeling (SEM) analysis, the findings indicate that such a maritime logistics service quality (MLSQ) is represented by the six-dimensional construct consisting of logistics professional skills, resource, process, outcome, service costs, and image along with the associated measurement indicators. In addition, each of the six dimensions of maritime logistics service quality has a significant positive effect on customer satisfaction as well as long-term commitment. The significant direct relationship between customer satisfaction and long-term commitment of the customer to repurchasing intent of the service is also confirmed. Some insights, academic and managerial implications, and limitation of the research are further discussed.","PeriodicalId":278094,"journal":{"name":"KMI International Journal of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries","volume":"102 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127450844","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
