Throughout his life, the poet collects historical events, monuments associated with Mazi, and folk legends. He remakes them and uses them effectively in his lyric poems and epics. Navoi used every word in his work. This is evident from the use of words and terms in his works. One of these words is Besutun. The term is used by the Turkish and Farsi poet Devoni Foniy, Hazoin ul-Maoniy, to describe vivid images. In short, the poet uses this term in his own and figurative sense to create beautiful metaphors that play an important role in expressing the feelings of the creator in the spirit world. This term is used to describe elegant and unique examples of the word art.","PeriodicalId":276633,"journal":{"name":"Uzbekistan: language and culture","volume":"53 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-09-10","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126194532","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The examination of the theoretical bases has led us to question some of the existing principles, which is consistent with a more comprehensive framework for the consideration of linguistic competence. The general background to linguistic competence is studied by many scien-tists. The notion of “linguistic competence” has been developed for many years and we will suggest some directions for the research that bear either directly to the goal of the research. Linguistic competence is the system of linguistic knowledge possessed and is distinguished from linguistic per-formance. It is the way a language system that is used in communication. Noam Chomsky introduced this concept in his elaboration of generative grammar, where it has been widely adopted and competence is the only level of language that is studied. According to Chomsky, competence is the ideal language system that enables speakers to produce and understand an infinite number of sentences in their language, and to distinguish gram-matical sentences from ungrammatical sentences. In 1970 years the En-glish language was the goal of teaching foreign language. Language, which is an indicator both in the estab-lishment of national identity and in proving independence on the stage of history, becomes permanent with the alphabet used to put it into written language. One of the most distinctive examples of the alphabet and natio- nal identity is the Turkish Alphabet Revolution, which was conducted un-der the leadership of ATATÜRK and which made a deep alphabet enginee- ring on the inheritance from the Ottoman Empire. The Turkish Alphabet Revolution, with its systematic implementation and success at every stage from the Turkish social structure to the State level, also sets an example for today's language policies and alphabet studies. In this study, language, alphabet and identity policies from the Ottoman Empire to the first years of the Turkish Republic are discussed and the role of language and alpha-bet, which is one of the most important requirements of being a nation, is emphasized.","PeriodicalId":276633,"journal":{"name":"Uzbekistan: language and culture","volume":"77 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-06-10","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127269622","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In a broad sense, it is logical enough to consider that to translate a poem is much eas-ier than, for instance, rendering of novels, stories and any other types of written genre of a literature, because of its shorter forms. Despite the fact that the article focuses on the real problems occurring during the transla-tion process of oriental classical poetry pieces from Uzbek into English, the problems must be considered actual for the modern poetry pieces as well. All the solutions presented in the article, thus can be applicable to modern poetry translation process as well.","PeriodicalId":276633,"journal":{"name":"Uzbekistan: language and culture","volume":"20 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-06-10","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131837884","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
