La Guía de campo para el arte con IA responsable (Responsible AI Art Field Guide) ofrece un punto de partida para que diseñadores, artistas y otros creadores puedan utilizar las técnicas de inteligencia artificial (IA) de forma responsable y cuidadosa. Sugerimos a los artistas y diseñadores que utilizan la IA que sitúen su trabajo en el contexto más amplio de la IA responsable, prestando atención a las consecuencias perjudiciales que potencial e involuntariamente podría conllevar su trabajo, tal como se entiende en los ámbitos de la seguridad de la información, la desinformación, el medio ambiente, los derechos de autor y los sesgos en los medios sintéticos apropiativos. En primer lugar, describimos las dinámicas más generales de los medios generativos para subrayar que los artistas y diseñadores que utilizan la IA operan al interior de un campo con características sociales complejas. A continuación, describimos nuestro proyecto, una guía centrada en cuatro puntos clave para controlar el ciclo de vida de la creación con IA: (1) el conjunto de datos, (2) el código del modelo, (3) los recursos de entrenamiento y (4) la publicación y la atribución. Se examina el caso simultáneamente excepcional y prosaico de los materiales que sustentan el proceso de filtración de agua en una ciudad manufacturera del siglo XIX en los Estados Unidos. El análisis de los vínculos entre estructura, propiedad, procesamiento y rendimiento de los materiales se integra con enfoques históricos de los paisajes tecnológicos, la co-construcción de uso y valor y las narrativas de progreso. Este estudio proporciona información sobre las dinámicas relaciones sociales y materiales que cambian a través de las escalas, así como acerca de los mecanismos y las influencias acumulativas de los constituyentes materiales de sistemas sociotécnicos más grandes. La contribución se inscribe en el marco de la ciencia y la tecnología con orientación social. Out of her interest in the way 'live' methods represent social worlds, she works on interdisciplinary methodologies, feminist and cultural theory, sociology of culture, consumer culture, and algorithms. Celia Lury is co-editor of Routledge Handbook of Interdisciplinary Research Methods (Routledge, 2018), Inventive Methods, (Routledge, 2012), and Measure and Value (Blackwell, 2012), among other volumes. In the following interview, Lury explains how she uses discussion and critical reflection on methods as a means to build interdisciplinarity. She emphasizes that live methods require being activated within a broader assemblage or ecology, and that an ethical orientation is needed when approaching and using methods. For Lury, methods cannot simply be conceived as instruments or tools. Instead, they should be perceived as practices. In this sense, one of the contributions that design makes to the debate on methodology is the specific relationship that designers have with practices and processes. El segundo paradigma que Castañeda Arredondo cuestiona es el conductual. Si la interfaz es Moving away from the ideal of transparency and the tendency to seek pleasant and fun interactions, Claudia Núñez Pacheco analyzes the aesthetic potential of obstacles and breakdowns, demonstrating that these can lead to equally meaningful experiences. Conceiving design as a situated activity, Núñez Pacheco emphasizes the embodied, sensory, and emotional dimension of aesthetic experiences. Like other designers who explore the potential of Pragmatic Aesthetic, Núñez Pacheco builds from John Dewey, one of the founders of philosophical pragmatism, and draws a bridge between his ideas and Eugene Gendlin’s philosophy of the implicit, which explains the relations between the body and meaning. From Gendlin’s process model, Dewey’s reflections on the rhythmic flow of aesthetic experience and Heidegger’s concept of equipment, Núñez Pacheco builds a solid conceptual framework that allows her to discuss “how aesthetic experiences unfold according to different types of embodied relations with technology artifacts.” Also Cecilia Castañeda Arredondo questions some of the interaction paradigms. First, the mediating function attributed to the interface. Her proposal is that graphic interfaces are an array of digital objects that are structured in a matrix, that is, dynamic objects in constant flux. Designing interfaces as if they were mere mediating elements that can be presented to the user through the aesthetics of the metaphor would be inconvenient since the interfaces not only operate at a symbolic level but also involve embodied experiential processes. In her words, “we cannot understand this conglomerate as abstract entities that can only be categorized as data or information. However, by trying to describe specific aesthetic qualities emerging from technology encounters, we risk offering endless definitions of potential aesthetic traits, mostly fixated on pleasurable interactions. This approach may discard other interactive expressions that could potentially lead us to meaningful insights. Drawing on the similarities between John Dewey's aesthetic experiences, Eugene Gendlin's process model, and Martin Heidegger’s analysis of tool use, this article offers a theoretical framework towards a broader, systematized view of aesthetics of interaction. This paper explores how different online entertainment platforms, news media, and app developers are trying to create new ways to showcase multiple mediums for the ‘real-time’ crowd, tools to foster multitasking experiences, and finally robust applets that will ultimately feed and shape their environment’s intra-actions (Barad, 2007). Los cuatro casos presentados se estructuran a partir de dos miradas al diseno: por un lado, el modelo MDA (Mechanics, Dynamics, Aesthetics) desarrollado por Hunicke, LeBlanc y Zubek (2004); por otro, el Circulo de Diseno Social, un modelo propio construido dentro del TIS que toma en cuenta tanto los factores emocionales que permiten generar y transmitir conocimientos como los medios para canalizar la creatividad de los estudiantes. Los artefactos descritos a continuacion buscan estimular la motivacion intrinseca de diferentes grupos de participantes. Actualmente es Profesor Asistente de Diseno Industrial en la Escuela de Diseno e Ingenieria Humana de UNIST. Como jefe del Interactive Product Design Laboratory, se enfoca en el diseno y la realizacion de productos interactivos que puedan aportar un valor efectivo, ludico y emocional a los usuarios. En esta entrevista, Young-Woo Park destaca la importancia de la “riqueza fisica” en la interaccion con las tecnologias y proporciona ejemplos del uso de materiales inusuales como medios para explorar nuevas formas de usar y disenar artefactos cotidianos. Tambien describe la encarnacion de lo efimero como un metodo con potencial para disenar interacciones esteticas.
