This paper takes the main features of complete feedback state controller, used in electromechanical systems, in order to propose a nonlinear tracking control with a Voltage \"Velocity -- Torque\" PI-PI Saturated Controller. The experimental system response shows that the tracking control problem is satisfied, i.e., the velocity error signal is bounded around the origin.","PeriodicalId":252737,"journal":{"name":"2014 International Conference on Mechatronics, Electronics and Automotive Engineering","volume":"31 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-11-18","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129602131","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Historically, interferometers were developed for optical laboratories with special supports that hold the components, nowadays, commercial systems with high performance and different integration levels are available. This paper presents the design of a Michelson interferometer with a 1/4 wavelength optical resolution and a 1/16 wavelength resolution by means of quadrature signal generation. The proposed interferometer uses a homodyne He-Ne laser. The design considers a compact optical setup, which permits a simple alignment of the system.","PeriodicalId":252737,"journal":{"name":"2014 International Conference on Mechatronics, Electronics and Automotive Engineering","volume":"495 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-11-18","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124568823","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

However, the correct object manipulation also implies to avoid damages. On the other hand, interaction is an action which is influenced by other actions between two or more entities. In this paper an alternative method for interaction control, which is a combination of velocity and position controllers based on disturbance observer (DOB) is presented. The proposed control strategy is a velocity control while the gripper is moving without contact with the environment. When an object is reached, the DOB detects the contact force and the control strategy switches to position control, the switching is commanded by a torque threshold compared with the estimated torque. The control strategy is verified by numerical simulation considering an object with predefined stiffness.","PeriodicalId":252737,"journal":{"name":"2014 International Conference on Mechatronics, Electronics and Automotive Engineering","volume":"48 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-11-18","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133467363","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In this work, we present the quaternion Fourier-Legendre moments in polar pixels, which are computationally faster and have a high-precision compared with other methods. In addition, to improve the performance of the array of polar pixels, we use an inherent property of the Legendre polynomials for the accurate calculation of kernel integration. Moreover, the presented new set of quaternion Fourier-Legendre moments is compared with other families proposed, such as quaternion Zernike moments, quaternion pseudo-Zernike moments, quaternion orthogonal Fourier-Mellin moments, and quaternion Bessel-Fourier moments. Experimental results show the superiority of the new quaternion moments in terms of the reconstruction error.","PeriodicalId":252737,"journal":{"name":"2014 International Conference on Mechatronics, Electronics and Automotive Engineering","volume":"17 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-11-18","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116268562","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The method is based on the application of a new pulsed excitation, which exhibits low pass frequency contents, and time domain analysis. In other pulsed excitation methods, curve fitting algorithms are used to find values for equivalent RC models. In our approach using this pulsed excitation, single values of potential and current measurements, at a very precise time, are needed to obtain the value of the polarization resistance. A numerical simulation was first developed and then, the method was tested using equivalent analog circuits and electrochemical cells. The pulsed excitation method was also compared with electrochemical impedance measurements, where the modulus of the impedance, at the minimum testing frequency, was taken as an estimation of the polarization resistance. According to the experimental results, the proposed method can be used in new instrumentation designs, where the main goal is to obtain a value of the polarization resistance.","PeriodicalId":252737,"journal":{"name":"2014 International Conference on Mechatronics, Electronics and Automotive Engineering","volume":"231 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-11-18","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133290739","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Global features in content based image retrieval, however, typically do not cover such a high level information. While characteristics of text regions may be reflected by texture or color properties, the respective pixels are not treated in a different way. In this contribution we investigate the impact of text detection on content based image retrieval using global features. Detected text regions are preprocessed to allow for different treatment by feature extraction algorithms, and we show that for certain domains this leads to a much higher precision in content based retrieval.","PeriodicalId":252737,"journal":{"name":"2014 International Conference on Mechatronics, Electronics and Automotive Engineering","volume":"110 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-11-18","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125535368","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
