Such facial landmarks can be detected by using either direct or indirect techniques. Within a 3D face image it is generally know that the most distinctive facial landmarks are the inner-corners and the tip of the nose, although their appearance varies among human races. Hence, most face processing application generally relay on a face model for comparison and analysis based on such anthropometric landmarks. This paper presents a survey on 3D face modeling, which in the best of our knowledge is missed in relate literature and it is necessary to propose a new 3D facial model, and such model is a primary step in any face processing application. In particular, we are aim to produce a useful 3D face model for research in key areas based on Mexican anthropometric analysis.","PeriodicalId":252737,"journal":{"name":"2014 International Conference on Mechatronics, Electronics and Automotive Engineering","volume":"49 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-11-18","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132109685","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

An important application is the image processing, but these process requires a lot of resources and computing time. This paper presents a digital system for image processing, using FPGA technology. The image is send from PC to the digital system through RS232 interface, and the image is recorded on a FLASH memory. Once the image is stored, the image is translated to RAM memory to execute the process and the image processed can be displayed in a VGA interface. The proposed architecture is standard VHDL to design the hardware description. The architecture developed can be adjusted to be used on any FPGA platform with minimum changes. The architecture is tested with an image of 640×480 pixels and the results are compared with the Mat lab software.","PeriodicalId":252737,"journal":{"name":"2014 International Conference on Mechatronics, Electronics and Automotive Engineering","volume":"12 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-11-18","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130875959","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

To overcome this limitation, several approaches based on non-parametric methods have been proposed, however, the selection of the best-suited method for a particular case can be a complicated decision-making process. In this paper, a comparison between dynamic neural networks and wave nets for modeling the dynamic response of a five-bay space truss structure is presented, by using the structure response to a chirp signal, the models are created. Then, the root mean squared value (RMSE) is employed for determining the model that best approximates the dynamic behavior. An experimental study is carried out in order to validate the models efficiency and their accuracy.","PeriodicalId":252737,"journal":{"name":"2014 International Conference on Mechatronics, Electronics and Automotive Engineering","volume":"29 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-11-18","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127600624","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

A method used to achieve this objective is to generate a map. A map provides the means for the vehicle to create paths between the visited places autonomously in order to perform a task. A particular problem is to obtain such a map when there is no initial knowledge of the surroundings or not even the initial position of the robot in the environment. On other hand, avoiding static and dynamic obstacles is required, so a novel artificial potential field method is presented. The new designs that solve both problems are implemented on an FPGA. The novel designs are then tested on differential traction mobile robots with a computer vision system that travel on a controlled unknown environment. The experimental results show good performance in real time.","PeriodicalId":252737,"journal":{"name":"2014 International Conference on Mechatronics, Electronics and Automotive Engineering","volume":"51 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-11-18","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133950322","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
