As a consequence of the correlation between video conversion parameters and video conversion time, the conversion time is highly predictable from input video properties and conversion parameters. Hence, this paper proposes gradient boosting machine to predict the conversion time of videos using video metadata and conversion features with no detailed information about the applied codec. The evaluation results of the experiments conducted on benchmark Youtube video characteristics dataset showed that our model reduced the conversion time prediction error by as much as 4.03% over previously applied models. The proposed model also indicates that features about coding standard and codec allocated memory used for conversion, size, duration, bitrate and framerate of videos are crucial for conversion time prediction.","PeriodicalId":240329,"journal":{"name":"2016 3rd International Conference on Electrical Engineering and Information Communication Technology (ICEEICT)","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-09-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130686399","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The OLEDs have been designed and simulated using Lumerical FDTD simulator. We also analyze the performance of the OLEDs from various perspectives such as quantum efficiency, normalized transmitted power, intensity, and angular distribution of light. To increase light extraction from the substrate layer, various micro/nano-metric structures, made of SijN4, have been incorporated as light scattering structures. Single layer structures of various size, shape (plano-convex & plano-concave lenses and pillars), and period have been investigated during our simulation. Simulation results confirm higher light extraction, angular distribution, and efficiency in micro/nano-metric structures induced OLEDs, compared to traditional OLEDs. Plano-concave MLA engraved OLEDs show high out-coupling efficiency, whereas, nano-pillars engraved OLED shows consistent light distribution in a wide angular region. We strongly believe that, the proposed OLEDs will have wide range of commercial applications.","PeriodicalId":240329,"journal":{"name":"2016 3rd International Conference on Electrical Engineering and Information Communication Technology (ICEEICT)","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-09-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131015670","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The vehicle is motorized by batteries which are charged through-conventional power source and PV module. In order to-facilitate fast charging and to reduce power loss substantially, a four channel interleaved boost converter has been-integrated with solar module where switching losses are minimized using zero voltage switching (ZVS) technique. In addition to this, a discontinuously switched vienna rectifier has been designed that guarantees reduced THD and improved PF. The speed control of the BLDC motor is done using hall sensor technique. The process of selecting the suitable components for this application is studied and simulated for various conditions where each of the components is practical.","PeriodicalId":240329,"journal":{"name":"2016 3rd International Conference on Electrical Engineering and Information Communication Technology (ICEEICT)","volume":"96 1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-09-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127991133","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In histogram shifting based data hiding technique, lower distortion and improved capacity can be achieved. In this paper, a new method of reversible data hiding based on compressed gray level histogram shifting has been proposed which provides a high capacity of data hiding and also maintains a good image quality. In the proposed technique of data hiding, the range of the image pixel values is compressed by taking the square root of these pixel values. Considering the rounded pixel values increases the amount of peak pixel and thus also increases the data hiding capacity greatly. After data insertion, pixel values are squared and round values of the pixels are considered to form the image. At the receiver the hidden data is extracted and the actual cover image is regained by following the reverse technique of data insertion. The proposed scheme has been applied to various images to check its generality. The bit-rate and PSNR value obtained by the proposed method have been compared to a reference method and it was found that the proposed method provides a higher capacity than the reference method but PSNR value is a little bit lower in some cases.","PeriodicalId":240329,"journal":{"name":"2016 3rd International Conference on Electrical Engineering and Information Communication Technology (ICEEICT)","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-09-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129290977","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It is very important in the field of classification of the objects. It has been fruitfully applied in expert systems to get knowledge. We can determine appropriate classification of unknown objects according to decision tree rules by applying inductive methods to the given values of attributes of those objects. In this paper a decision tree learning algorithm ID3 is applied to build a decision tree in achieving our goal to gender identification of unknown objects. Our experiments have used records of 50 individuals among which 26 were male and 24 were female subjects having age groups of 19 to 25 years. The classification related to the training sets is done by proper calculation. The output of the work is the classified decision tree and the decision rules. It has been observed that the proposed decision tree can recognize 45 subjects gender from 50 individuals. It is a faster process in recognition of individuals' gender and having accuracy level 85% to 90%.","PeriodicalId":240329,"journal":{"name":"2016 3rd International Conference on Electrical Engineering and Information Communication Technology (ICEEICT)","volume":"16 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-09-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125465772","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This paper shows the optimum performance of a 2×2 MZI electro-optic switch using a channel profile based on titanium diffused potassium niobate (Ti:KNbO3) at 1.55 μm. Extinction ratio and insertion loss are two major performance factors to obtain the design parameters, which are evaluated by varying titanium strip thickness, waveguide width, length of interferometer arm, gap in 3 dB coupler region and gap between interferometer arm. Finally the position of center electrode regarding main axis of the device is also varied. Optimization leads to the value of 0.00925 dB insertion loss and 32.157 dB extinction ratio for both cross state (0 V) & bar state (4 V). However, such systems are receptive to carrier frequency offset (CFO) due to Doppler effect in a mobile communication system. Analysis is carried out for a wireless communication system with multi carrier (MC) direct sequence (DS) code division multiple access (CDMA) technique with CFO to find the expression of SINR and the bit error rate (BER) with BPSK coherent detection receiver. The results are checked out in term of SINR and BER for various values of CFO variance, considering Gaussian distribution of CFO. The result shows that there occurs BER floor due to CFO for SC and Multi Carrier (MC) DS-CDMA and there is a power penalty at a given BER which is high for the Multi Carrier (MC) DS-CDMA compared to SC DS-CDMA. It is also observed that increasing the number of subcarriers does not affect much in MC DS-CDMA, which will definitely allow to minimize the delay spread which is a vital limitation of wireless communication system.","PeriodicalId":240329,"journal":{"name":"2016 3rd International Conference on Electrical Engineering and Information Communication Technology (ICEEICT)","volume":"33 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-09-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125107389","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
