With delta and acceleration coefficients of MFCC and the log energy, a vector set of 39 dimensions is obtained per 10ms. In this paper, our objective is to observe the effect of third differential coefficients on the performance of Bangla ASR, which is not explored in this field yet. In doing so, we have appended 13 third differential coefficients along with previous 39 coefficients to make a vector set of 52 coefficients per 10ms frame. We have observed the performance of Bangla ASR system in the presence and absence of third differential coefficients using Hidden Markov Model (HMM) based tied-state triphone model. To make the speech corpus, 100 sentences have been uttered by a different number of speakers at different phases including both male and female of similar ages in between 22–24. Hidden-Markov-Model Toolkit (HTK) has been used here for the comparative analysis. We have considered the Sentence Correction Rate (SCR) as the performance indicator. From the experiments, it has been observed that the MFCC based system of 39 (MFCC39) and 52 (MFCC52) dimensions have average SCR of 98.89% and 98.94% respectively. Therefore, our finding is that slight improvement is possible with the inclusion of third differential coefficients when the sampling data rate is as high as 44.1 KHz.","PeriodicalId":240329,"journal":{"name":"2016 3rd International Conference on Electrical Engineering and Information Communication Technology (ICEEICT)","volume":"26 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-09-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132533951","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

That is why improving the reliability of the power system has become the main concern to the experts. This article investigates the impact of cyber-attack on an isolated power station in frequency disturbing aspects during sudden changes of load of the system. Stable limit of the speed regulation for load frequency control (LFC) and integral controller gain for automatic generation control (AGC) is derived from their characteristic equations. Depending upon the nature of cyber-attack (positive biased attack or negative biased attack) simulation curves are developed to show the frequency deviations and oscillations of the power system. Most severe attack is also characterized to protect power system from unstable situation.","PeriodicalId":240329,"journal":{"name":"2016 3rd International Conference on Electrical Engineering and Information Communication Technology (ICEEICT)","volume":"34 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-09-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132936065","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

These are light dependent and ultrasonic method of gesture recognition. The light dependent method was developed in an early study, where a control panel detected some predefined gesture commands and a robotic arm was controlled with those commands. In this new study the same gesture commands are used to control the robotic arm. But this time they are determined by both light dependent and ultrasonic method. All the procedure and arrangements are kept unchanged so that a comparative performance test for these two methods can be carried out. Experimental results and cost analysis shows that the light dependent method is more convenient for indoor application of the system. Whereas, for outdoor application, the ultrasonic method is preferable.","PeriodicalId":240329,"journal":{"name":"2016 3rd International Conference on Electrical Engineering and Information Communication Technology (ICEEICT)","volume":"10 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-09-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133711680","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The avionics of aircraft are very sophisticated and majority of them do not allow any external interface for logging. As such, a standalone external AHRS is needed which should be comprised of low cost devices so that it becomes affordable for other aircrafts. This paper proposes a low cost Micro-Electrical-Mechanical system (MEMS) based AHRS for low speed aircraft to evaluate the flying performance. MEMS based 3-axis accelerometer, gyroscope and magnetometer have been used to build the AHRS. Low cost MEMS based sensors suffer from bias, drift and sudden spike. Low pass filter has been utilized to reduce the spikes. Complementary filter has been used to pin down the drift of the gyroscope from accelerometer reading. The system has been implemented in Arduino environment. Simulation and real time results have shown correct functioning of the system. Besides using as an AHRS in low speed aircraft, the system can be used for control and stabilization of other real time system.","PeriodicalId":240329,"journal":{"name":"2016 3rd International Conference on Electrical Engineering and Information Communication Technology (ICEEICT)","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-09-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131311657","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The technique uses first and second radio frequency (RF) harmonic tone powers to generate the control signal for the compensation. Optical notch filter is used to filter out one of the sidebands of the optical spectrum to remove the effects of chromatic dispersion (CD) from the detected RF spectrum and then power levels of the RF harmonics vary with the PMD induced differential group delay (DGD) alone. The compensation technique takes control signal from the electrical domain by comparing the slopes of the power of the RF harmonic tones. The compensation is found to be very effective covering the window of whole symbol period. After compensation, the maximum electrical power improvements are 0.76 dB and 0.85 dB for data rate of 40 and 160 Gbps respectively.","PeriodicalId":240329,"journal":{"name":"2016 3rd International Conference on Electrical Engineering and Information Communication Technology (ICEEICT)","volume":"86 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-09-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125034428","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
