The research was conducted at experimental plots of the All-Russian Research Institute of Viticulture and Winemaking – Branch of Federal State Budget Scientific Institution «FRARC». The Hope grapevine variety possesses several positive characteristics: it belongs to the seedless category of the second class, has dense flesh, and exhibits a complex and rich flavor and taste profile. The average weight of a cluster is 320 grams, while the average weight of a berry is 4.2 grams. The Hope variety has high yield potential, reaching up to 124 quintals per hectare. It shows vigorous vine growth and good resistance to diseases. Additionally, it has a good winter hardiness. Standard methodologies and vineyard cultivation techniques were used in the study. The vineyards where the research was conducted were non-irrigated and grafted, using the Oppenheim SO4 rootstock, with bilateral cordon training and a planting scheme 3×1.5 meters. The results indicated that the Hope variety has an early ripening period (requiring 118 days from bud break to full berry maturity). It has promising for use in winemaking and does not require yield regulation measures. Overall, the Hope grape variety is of interest for commercial cultivation in industrial vineyards. Its economically valuable qualities and attributes make it appealing for consumption in fresh form, wine production, and the production of dried products. It can also be included in the breeding programs of scientific institutions for further development and improvement of grape varieties.","PeriodicalId":232100,"journal":{"name":"Russian Vine","volume":"292 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-08-11","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115537096","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Potapenko (Novocherkassk, Rostov region). Varieties were studied in grafted, covered culture. The object of research were 20 grapevine varieties of different directions of use and maturation. Most of the studied varieties (80 %) had more than 60 % bud break. The percentage of fruit bearing shoots varied over a wide range, from 26.8 % (Krestovsky) to 93.1 % (Durman). The highest average bunch weight had varieties − Krestovsky (456 g) and Kumshatsky Belyj (429 g). The yield varied from 1.9 kg/bush (Krestovsky) to 11.4−11.6 kg/bush (Silnyak and Shilohvosty). Most of the studied varieties (11 out of 20) had a high or very high calculated yield (from 130 c/ha and more). Very high sugar content in berry juice had 3 varieties (Krasnostop Zolotovsky, Shampanchik Tsimlyansky and Varyushkin), 5 varieties had high sugar content, 9 − medium, 2 − low and 1 had very low. One variety − Shampanchik-2 had a very high titratable acidity (15.8 g/dm3). High titratable acidity was noted in 4 varieties, the majority of varieties (55 %) had an average titratable acidity (from 7 to 9 g/dm3). According to the results of the studies, it can be tentatively identified that technical and universal varieties with white berries: Bessergenevsky-10, Kosorotovsky, Durman, Kumshatsky Belyj, Sibirkovyj, and variety with colored berries – Varyushkin are promising in terms of yield and quality of grapes for winemaking. These varieties are of early-middle and medium-late ripening, which is very important for the zone of the northern industrial viticulture of the Russian Federation. Research in this direction will be continued.","PeriodicalId":232100,"journal":{"name":"Russian Vine","volume":"2 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-08-11","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121142279","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Bacteriosis of berries is caused by the bacterium Bacillus. Basically, bacteria enter the berries through the wound surface of the skin of the berries, caused by insect stings, sunburn, and other factors, although the infection of the berries with bacteria is fixed without damaging the skin. The causative agent of the disease is resistant to high temperatures and lack of moisture. The disease symptoms on the same varieties was noted not every year. The intensity of spread of bacteriosis of berries also differed by years. In 2020, signs of damage by bacteriosis of berries were noted in 30% of the studied varieties and with a greater intensity of damage, compared with 2021. The intensity of bacteriosis damage from 1.5 points and higher was noted in the varieties: VIR-1, Kabashny, Kosorotovsky, Pochatochny, Staryy Goryun, which is 13% of the observed varieties. In 17% of varieties, the intensity of the damage did not exceed 1.4 points. In 2021, bacteriosis of berries appeared in a smaller number of varieties compared to 2020 (10% of the studied ones) and with a lower intensity of damage (up to 1.5 points).","PeriodicalId":232100,"journal":{"name":"Russian Vine","volume":"178 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-08-11","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122052561","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The analysis according to the available multi-year data of weather stations of the Crimean peninsula is given. The following climatic indices characterizing vegetation period and grape ripening period were calculated: sum of temperatures above 20°C, ratio of sum of temperatures above 20 °C to sum of temperatures above 10 °C, Huglin and Winkler indices, average temperature of vegetation period, Selyaninov hydrothermal coefficient, sum of precipitation per year and vegetation period. Besides, the main agro-ecological factors limiting the possibility and efficiency of grapevine cultivation were considered: average of absolute minima of air temperature and sum of active temperatures above 10 °С. A digital complex map of the spatial distribution of these indices on the analyzed territory was constructed by means of geoinformation modeling. The distribution of Sevastopol territories that are not suitable for vineyards establishment was analyzed: with unfavorable soil conditions, with a height of more than 600 m above sea level, with a slope of over 20 degrees, as well as lands of forest and reserve funds. As a result of a comprehensive analysis of agro-ecological conditions in the territory of Sevastopol 9 ampeloecotopes were identified. According to the results of the comparison of agro-ecological conditions of the selected ampeloecotopes with the requirements of grapevine varieties to growing conditions, taking into account the dependence of the quality indicators of viticulture and winemaking products on agro-ecological factors, recommendations for agroecological optimization of the varietal composition and terroir specialization of the viticulture and winemaking industry in the territory of the city of federal significance − Sevastopol were developed.","PeriodicalId":232100,"journal":{"name":"Russian Vine","volume":"37 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-08-11","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127887062","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The objects of the study were dry white wines made from grapevine varieties of Hungarian breeding − Bianca, Lakhedyi mesesh, Crystal, control − Aligote (Vitis vinifera L.), aged in a bottle from 1 to 3 years in the oenoteca of the Institute. The studies showed that during 3 years of aging the total content of organic acids (sum) decreased by 0.35−2.41 g/dm3. The largest decrease in the amount of organic acids was noted in the experimental wines from the variety Bianca (by 2.41 g/dm3). In the experimental wines the total amount of tartaric and malic acids was 56,8−76,3% of all the acids in the wine and decreased in the wines from variety Aligote (control) − by 11.2 %; Bianca − by 18.6 %; Lakhedi Mezesh − by 10,2 %; Kristall − by 7 % as it was aged in the bottle. The greatest decrease in tartaric acid concentration was observed in experimental wines of Bianca variety (by 2.4 g/dm3). In all the experiments the concentrations of succinic acid (by 13.3−28.3 %) and citric acid (by 20−38 %) decreased. The change of succinic acid content in the wines from Aligote variety (control) occurred after 2 years of aging in bottle, and of citric acid after 3 years of aging. In wines from varieties of Hungarian breeding (Bianca, Lakhedy Mesz, Crystal) it was observed that the change of citric acid content occurred after 2 years of aging and of amber acid content after 3 years. As a result of the organoleptic analysis it was determined that the highest tasting scores were given to Aligote (Control) (8,7−8,9 points) and Lakheddi mezesz (8,6−8,7 points), these wines during 3 years long aging had a bright varietal aroma, and more over their bouquet has improved, they have a light harmonious taste with a long pleasant aftertaste.","PeriodicalId":232100,"journal":{"name":"Russian Vine","volume":"142 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-07-18","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122709404","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

An ampelographic description of the variety was made according to the main characteristics. This grapevine cultivar can be distinguished by its seedless berries, similar to Vitis labrusca L. morphological features and taste of berries, small compact clusters, wedge-shaped leaves, medium vigor, and disease and cold-hardiness. The vineyards are not watered, grafted, not covered, the two-armed middle-trunk cordon bush shape, the planting scheme is 3×1.5 m, the pruning is short. Methods generally accepted in viticulture and standard vineyard cultivation technology were used. According to our data, the Tickled Pink variety has an super-early terms of grape ripening (105 days from bud break to full ripeness of berries), small bunches with an average weight of 90.5 g, medium-sized berries with a weight of 2.2 g, seedlessness class II (mass of rudiments 8.7 mg), high resistance to downy mildew, anthracnose and botrytis, medium resistance to powdery mildew. According to the originators, the variety is highly resistant to frost, which we could not confirm due to the lack of critical low temperatures in winter, but it was possible to note the high winter hardiness of the variety. Yield is low, 4.7 t/ha. We believe that the grape cultivar Tickled Pink is not quite suitable for our terroir due to insufficient drought resistance and heat resistance, but it can be recommended for backyard gardening in regions with a cool climate, as well as for use in the breeding of resistant seedless grape varieties.","PeriodicalId":232100,"journal":{"name":"Russian Vine","volume":"46 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-07-18","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121508996","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It was found that, under the soil and climatic conditions of the experiment, the vines of these varieties annually form suckers on their main shoots, from which an additional grape yield can be obtained by the end of the growing season. In the case of Dunav, this yield was 25.30 % and in the case of Panse Précoce − 32.44 % of the yield of the main shoots. In both varieties, there is a mathematically proven very strong positive correlation between most of the studied ampelographic parameters recorded in the main shoots and their suckers.
