The design consists of a Rat-Race coupler to provide self-interference cancellation (SIC), a low noise amplifier (LNA), a power amplifier (PA) and an electrical balancing impedance; all implemented in 100nm low noise GaAs process provided by UMS. The circuit provided an isolation above 40 dB between the PA and the LNA. The 1 dB compression point of the transmitter at the antenna terminal is 12 dBm and the total noise Figure (NF) is better than 5 dB. The balancing impedance covers 3:1 voltage standing wave ratio (VSWR) circle in Smith chart. The chip consumes 500 mW power and has a die area of 7mm2.","PeriodicalId":232097,"journal":{"name":"IEEE EUROCON 2019 -18th International Conference on Smart Technologies","volume":"6 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-07-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126337090","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

To perform DPF, the input signal must be discrete, which implies the presence of an analog-to-digital converter (ADC) in the measuring channel. Resolution of any ADC is finite, and it is create the quantization error. The error of ADC quantization results to additional measurement error of amplitude and phase spectrum. The simulation results show that the existing methods of estimation of this error results to a significant overstatement of the evaluation value. The paper considers a new technique (the “composite” method) of estimating the measurement error of amplitude spectrum caused by the ADC quantization noise. The proposed method is based on approximation of the spectrum of the ADC output signal (code) by a simple analytical function. Analytical expressions which allow for a given input signal, ADC chip and sample rate to estimate the measurement error of the signal spectrum caused by the ADC quantization noise are obtained. The comparison of the proposed method of error estimation with the existing methods is performed. Simulation results are obtained in Matlab software package.","PeriodicalId":232097,"journal":{"name":"IEEE EUROCON 2019 -18th International Conference on Smart Technologies","volume":"31 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-07-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125535376","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

A large class of globally convergent methods of this type is used efficiently in centralized optimization, both constrained and unconstrained. The methods of this class are built on the idea of modeling the objective function at each iteration and taking the new iteration as the minimizer of the model in a certain area, called the trust region. The trust region size, the minimization method and the model function depend on the properties of the objective function. In this paper we propose a general framework and concentrate on the first order methods, i.e., the gradient methods. Using the trust-region mechanism for generating the step size we end up with a fully distributed method with node varying step sizes. Numerical results presented in the paper demonstrate the efficiency of the proposed approach.","PeriodicalId":232097,"journal":{"name":"IEEE EUROCON 2019 -18th International Conference on Smart Technologies","volume":"18 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-07-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130563333","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The movement of the body is commonly known and expresses the intention of the action. The express of intent by our movement is classified as non-verbal cues, and from them, it is possible to understand and anticipate the actions of humans. In robotics, humans need to understand the intention of the robot in order to efficiently and safely interact in a dyadic activity. If robots could possess the same non-verbal cues when executing the same actions, then humans would be capable of interacting with robots the way they interact with other humans.We propose a robotic controller capable of executing actions of moving objects on a table (placing) and handover objects to humans (giving) in a human-like behaviour. Our first contribution is to model the behaviour of the non-verbal cues of a human interacting with other humans while performing placing and giving actions. From the recordings of the motion of the human, we build a computational model of the trajectory of the head, torso, and arm for the different actions. Additionally, the human motion model was consolidated with the integration of a previously developed human gaze behaviour model. As a second contribution, we embedded this model in the controller of an iCub humanoid robot and compared the generated trajectories to the real human model, and additionally, compare with the existing minimum-jerk controller for the iCub (iKin).Our results show that it is possible to model the complete upper body human behaviour during placing and giving interactions, and the generated trajectories from the model give a better approximation of the human-like behaviour in a humanoid robot than the existing inverse kinematics solver. From this work, we can conclude that our controller is capable of achieving a humanlike behaviour for the robot which is a step towards robots capable of understanding and being understood by humans.","PeriodicalId":232097,"journal":{"name":"IEEE EUROCON 2019 -18th International Conference on Smart Technologies","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-07-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129770147","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The purpose of surveys may be to refine the data or to verify the information that forms the basis of local taxes. Such data include the possession of private outdoor swimming pools belonging to family houses. The knowledge of the number of pools is important in many ways. Drainage load will increase significantly when pools are drained for which the channel operator needs to prepare. In the same way, filling also has a significant water demand for which the water supplier needs to be prepared. For all these reasons, it is understandable if the local government requests an extra contribution from the pool owners in the form of a tax. Up-to-date and accurate data are important for municipalities. Aerial photography can be used to recognize outdoor pools with ease. With drones, the process is fast and cost-effective. At the same time, the numerical quantification of pools from a large amount of data produced during the photo shoot (high-resolution orthophoto covering the area) is a time-consuming task. The method we have developed can automatically detect basins and to quantify them by using a neural network on orthophotos.","PeriodicalId":232097,"journal":{"name":"IEEE EUROCON 2019 -18th International Conference on Smart Technologies","volume":"69 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-07-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131082874","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

During the last two decades, a great proportion of the academic research in networking has focused on improving the bandwidth allocation algorithms for PONs so as to provide better user services. Recently, PONs have been suggested as the means for providing ultra-low latency for QoS stringent applications, such as the Tactile Internet, for healthcare applications in a hospital environment. Despite their potential, little attention has been given so far to prediction methods for allocating bandwidth in advance so as to decrease end-to-end latency in such environments. This paper aims to address this gap, by proposing a novel framework for Passive Optical LANs. By utilizing a prediction scheme and a Dynamic Bandwidth Allocation (DBA) algorithm that allocates bandwidth based on network feedback information, the proposes approach is shown to significantly contribute to reduction of latency.","PeriodicalId":232097,"journal":{"name":"IEEE EUROCON 2019 -18th International Conference on Smart Technologies","volume":"47 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-07-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114726425","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
