Maritime security is one of the most important aspects of national security and international politics in the present day. Countries that have large coastal areas face serious maritime challenges and threats. Those countries need to invest large amounts of their budget, energy, and time in strengthening maritime security. India is also one of them that has been facing the challenges of maritime security. Multiple terrorist attacks in Mumbai on November 26, 2008, exposed a lack of strong maritime security resources and infrastructure. The 26/11 terror attack is also considered a paradigm shift in India’s Maritime Security management. Therefore, to resolve the problems and counter maritime challenges and threats, India started giving more attention to maritime security. This paper examines how India’s maritime security discourse evolved, what the fundamental maritime security challenges India is facing presently are, what security policies and programs India has adopted and executed to counter those challenges, and what challenges still need to be addressed.","PeriodicalId":23114,"journal":{"name":"Towards Excellence","volume":"29 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-06-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"136365373","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

One of the nation builders of New India, Dr Ambedkar's nationalism is not only in the form of struggle against colonial authority but also against the nefarious concept of exploitation of ‘Dalits’ and ‘untouchability’ in the social structure in the Indian environment. An important element of Ambedkar's nationalism is the unified common interest among the Indian citizens, which would not have been possible without ‘Social Identity, Economic Redistribution and Political Representation’ of the downtrodden-exploited class in the archaic social structure. Against the excellence based nationalism of western modern nationalism, Dr. Ambedkar has given importance to awakening and collective inclusion of enlightened India based on History of Ideas. Thus, for Dr. Ambedkar, nationalism means - the right to civil life and the sense of duty to be tied in the thread of unity.","PeriodicalId":23114,"journal":{"name":"Towards Excellence","volume":"33 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-06-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"74104603","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

These days, and especially during COVID times, employee engagement has become one of the most important metrics for the organization. As Jack and Suzy Welch suggest: \"Employee engagement first. No company, small or large, can win in the long run without energized employees who believe in the mission and understand how to achieve it.\" Many studies show how increasing employees' levels of commitment can have a big impact on company success; not only does it lead them away from high turnover rates, but it also increases productivity because they're more likely than ever before to be engaged in what matters: making money! Therefore, employee engagement has the power to make or break a business.","PeriodicalId":23114,"journal":{"name":"Towards Excellence","volume":"20 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-06-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"81972313","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This paper aims to understand and evaluate the complexities that arise in the field when designing and delivering mobile-based healthcare interventions by discussing case studies of three programs currently running in India: 1) TAMA/Maitra – an interactive voice response system for people living with HIV/AIDS; 2) mMitra – an automated voice call service for pre- and post-natal women; and 3) Saathealth – a mobile application for sending nutrition messages to families with young children. The paper critically evaluates these programs based on learnings from the field, examines issues that affect program efficacy such as sociodemographic and psychosocial factors, and focuses on the change in perspectives toward health communication in the context of COVID-19. The analysis suggests the importance of self-regulation and self-responsibility as significant contributors to health promotion strategies, indicating possible directions for building a social communication model based on health behavior frameworks.","PeriodicalId":23114,"journal":{"name":"Towards Excellence","volume":"16 9 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-06-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"86111460","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The study uses secondary data from reports, research articles, the national budget, and the national strategic plan. The findings indicated that, despite the disadvantages faced by rural areas, there is rapid improvement and development in the transformation that led to Tanzania's designation as a middle-income country in July 2020. Access to electricity and tarmac roads linking the majority of the rural areas enabled the introduction of industries that stimulated rural economic activities by processing the raw products and adding value before being primarily sold. However, most rural economic products, like farm-related items and other resources, are still locally produced. They are sold as crude without adding value, which makes the villagers sell them at a lower price. According to the findings, the government and its partners during this 2020–2025 strategic plan aim to industrialize most of the rural areas and raise public awareness about the sale of processed products.","PeriodicalId":23114,"journal":{"name":"Towards Excellence","volume":"50 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-06-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"72760576","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
