Ethnopoetic, aesthetic-reflexive and historical-cultural methods are used. The aesthetic model of nature is considered, which caused the multifunctionality of steppe images in the epic novel “Quiet Flows the Don” with an emphasis on the genetic connection of a person with a habitat. The spatial aspect related to the psychology of the heroes is taken into account.","PeriodicalId":228573,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of Southern Federal University. Dulichenko. The author asserts that there are two main principles in contemporary linguistics for determining an idiom as ‘language’ or ‘dialect’: functional and structural. Functional approach implies the description of a language as a medium of communication within a language community, and appropriation of the volume of functions that a language covers to the current level of development of society. And the structural one focuses on its genetic relationships and a number of lexicostatistical methods, such as using of Swadesh-list and valuation of mutual intelligibility. In this regard, it is especially noted that none of the listed approaches can be considered absolute and both of them should be implemented in a complementary way with detailed examination of current sociopolitical practices in language community in particular. On the basis of the proposed approaches and the analysis of the linguistic situations of a number of European regions and sociolinguistic peculiarities of some regional and minority languages of Europe and Slavic microlanguages, the most important distinctive features of regional languages are described.","PeriodicalId":228573,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of Southern Federal University. D. Baker “A Tale of the Wide-Awake Princess: Princess between Worlds”, as well as the specifics of their translation are considered. Within the research the typology of mythonyms has been studied; onyms from the category of neomyphonyms and spellonyms have been identified; the relationship between mythoanthroponym, neomyphonym and spellonym has been determined. As a result of the research, methods of translating mythonyms that function in the general picture and the figurative system of the artistic work of E. D. Baker have been distinguished and described. In research studies proper names are an important detail of the figurative system of creative work and the general picture of the literary work, therefore there is a need for a practical rethinking of the issue of the functioning and methods of conveying the names of fictional characters in a modern literary work. Increasingly, in research studies, linguists raise the issue of the use of blended methods of translating anthroponyms, in particular, mythonyms, which is confirmed in this study. In the course of practical research, it was found that despite the well-established tradition of translating anthroponyms, blended translation is the dominant method, and the field of anthroponymy also remains a relevant field for studying the specifics of the functioning and translation of mythonyms in modern fairy tales of the fantasy genre.","PeriodicalId":228573,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of Southern Federal University. The object of the research is the process of teaching Russian for school students, the subject is the thinking of the adaptive learning system of A.S. Granitskaya as presumably effective model of school students’ activity on Russian classes in multiethnic environment. The purpose of the article is to study the theoretical foundations and experience of forming an educational process in a multi-ethnic class in the course of teaching Russian; to present possible solutions to the analyzed problem based on the adaptive learning system of A.S. Granitskaya. An analysis of the theory and practice of teaching Russian for school students in a multi-ethnic class over the past decades has shown that various models of a multi-ethnic schools have been created, and their specifics is determined by the students themselves; methods for enriching the vocabulary and forming the grammatical structure of the speech of non-native speaker learners have been developed; the effectiveness of technologies (project activities, ICT, etc.) has been proven. Special attention has been given to the technology of A.S. Granitskaya – the adaptive learning system – as a possible way to solve the problem. The study shows how this technology can be adapted in teaching Russian for multi-ethnic students, and reveals the effective aspects of forming the educational process using this technology.","PeriodicalId":228573,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of Southern Federal University. In the historiography of this stage of the development of the regional media system, three periods can be distinguished, each of which has its own characteristics. The first (1920-1950) is characterized by review articles published in specialized journalistic publications expressing the directives of the Bolshevik leadership in the field of press. At the second stage (1950-1990), a scientific study of the processes of the formation of an authoritarian model of regional journalism was originated, which was characterized by a one-sided approach from the position of Marxist ideology. With the collapse of the communist regime in 1991, a revision of the concepts of Soviet historical and journalistic science began. However, as for the studies devoted to the history of journalism in the North Caucasus, we can say that the problem is insufficiently studied.","PeriodicalId":228573,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of Southern Federal University. This article presents an analytical review of the study of the semantics of extreme in Russian linguistics: for the first time, the author has revealed and systematized the points of view of linguists of the XX-XXI centuries on the problem of the existence of means of expressing the functional-semantic category of extreme, which is considered significant and relevant for the Russian mentality and Russian linguoculture. It is revealed that multilevel language units can transmit the semantics of extreme. The systematization of the obtained data leads the author to the conclusion that some particles, pronouns, conjunctions, phraseological units, as well as combinations of some lexical units are able to express the functional and semantic category of extreme.","PeriodicalId":228573,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of Southern Federal University. The translators had different views on the theory of translation which manifests through different approaches taken by Nabokov and Pasternak when they were translating Shakespeare’s conceptual metaphors. Nabokov’s aspiration for literal translation is put in contrast with «intentional freedom» of Pasternak’s «Hamlet». It is noted that Nabokov’s translation is much closer to the English text in terms of semantic content but nonetheless lacks idiomatic «naturalness» of Pasternak’s translation.","PeriodicalId":228573,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of Southern Federal University. The article considers the advantages of distance learning and the choice of technology “Inverted classroom” in the remote form of teaching English. The positive aspects of the use of this form of education for both the student and the teacher are noted. The scientific novelty of the research lies in the theoretical and practical justification of the benefits of using the “Inverted classroom” technology for distance learning and the ability to easily adapt our school study-guides within this technology. The change in the role of the teacher and students is practically shown. The results of the survey showed the inherent importance of distance learning and the correctness of using the “Inverted classroom” technology in this learning format","PeriodicalId":228573,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of Southern Federal University.
