We have been teaching at the Department of cybernetics and artificial intelligence, various courses specialized on data analysis, machine learning as well as knowledge discovery in databases. Advances and progress in technologies during recent years proved that there is a need to extend the teaching process by reflecting the new and emerging technologies, tools and approaches. During the last complex accreditation process we have proposed a new course specifically dedicated to the area of big data analysis and related technologies. The main objective of this paper is to summarize the motivation to include the newly introduced course within our curricula, as well as to describe the outline of the learning objectives, structure and content of the proposed course with focus on the design of the practical lab sessions.","PeriodicalId":222363,"journal":{"name":"2015 13th International Conference on Emerging eLearning Technologies and Applications (ICETA)","volume":"58 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130406499","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Designed circuits are intended to execute the fundamental Boolean logic operations as well as the memory function covered by RS latch circuitry. The paper describes the complete design flow of logic cells, investigation and statistical simulations of their expected electrical parameters and full-custom layout representation design that will be used in the final monolithic fabrication process as a template for lithographic masks. Moreover, the development of scalable HSPICE behavioral model of standalone high electron mobility transistors (HEMT) used in the electrical simulations. Many students attend universities because of various influences, not only to obtain the higher education. Students tend to be less interested and self-motivated to study and do not learn continuously. This paper presents an approach applied in Operating Systems course, specifically to show how the systematic preparation of students (which involves preparatory tests and programming homework assignments every week) influences their results in important tests of the course.","PeriodicalId":222363,"journal":{"name":"2015 13th International Conference on Emerging eLearning Technologies and Applications (ICETA)","volume":"6 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132819590","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The research took the form of qualitative survey using criteria questionnaire. The research deals with two areas: (a) Current status of tablets use in classroom, and (b) Opinions of teachers and opinions of pupils concerning use of tablets for teaching/learning purposes. The research was performed at two grammar schools with general orientation and was implemented in the period from June to September 2015. Both schools had iPads available for classroom work since September 2014. The first school strongly supports education in science and therefore its description is grammar school with science orientation (term by the authors of this article). The second school supports foreign language learning and therefore its description is grammar school with humanities orientation (term by the authors of this article).","PeriodicalId":222363,"journal":{"name":"2015 13th International Conference on Emerging eLearning Technologies and Applications (ICETA)","volume":"36 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121943800","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
