The DAQ-Middleware will be able to make development of DAQ software easy which runs on many PCs. It consists of RT-Middleware based DAQ components and DAQ studio. The RT-Middleware is a software framework for robot systems and will be an international standard. The DAQ-component is one of the RT-components. The DAQ studio is a tool used for development, debugging and operation of the DAQ-components. We added a new function called RawTCP to improve the performance of data transfer. The performance evaluation is shown. Four layers of silicon strip layers at forward and backward rapidity will add to the vertex capability of the PHENIX silicon vertex tracker (VTX) enabling measurement of secondary vertices in front of the PHENIX muon arms. This allows the identification of heavy-quark decays (charm and beauty) into muons, while also allowing rejection of pion and kaon decays into muons. The PANDA data acquisition system has to handle interaction rates of the order of 10**7 /s and data rates of several 100 Gb Is. FPGA based compute nodes with multi-Gbit/s bandwidth capability using the ATCA architecture are designed to handle tasks such as event building, feature extraction and high level trigger processing. Each board is equipped with 5 Virtex4 FX60 FPGAs. High bandwidth connectivity is provided by four Gbit Ethernet links and 8 additional optical links connected to RocketIO ports. This detector consists of 50000 ton of pure water equipped with about 13000 photo-multipliers (PMTs) to detect Cherenkov light. The new online system will receive the dataflow of 500-800 MB/s from the front-end electronics and process them for the offline analysis. We will utilize Gigabit Ethernet network and parallel data processing to handle the large data flow. The system also needs high availability for the continuous measurement 365 days a year. In the new data acquisition scheme, we will not use the hardware event-trigger but read out every hit data from the front-end electronics and process them by the online farm. Therefore, there is no threshold of the number of PMT hits and the detector will become more sensitive to the important cosmic-ray events such as low energy solar neutrino and relic neutrino from supernova. The detector system consists of a full coverage array (about 5800 square meters) of resistive plate chambers (RPCs). The required throughput depends on the trigger rate and threshold. The DAQ system must be able to sustain a maximum transfer rate of the order of 15 MB/s and a high peak data flow. Data are read out using a typical front-end acquisition chain built around a custom bus. Specialized electronics have been designed and efficient software has been written to perform this task. Data are sent to the on line farm through a switch exploiting a gigabit ethernet protocol. A solution to transfer data from the YBJ laboratory to the laboratories belonging to the Argo-YBJ collaboration exploiting the GRID middleware has also been implemented. Owing to the long distances between telescopes, VLBI data have traditionally been recorded to magnetic tape, and now onto hard disks. With the emergence of high data rate network links the VLBI community is beginning to transfer astronomical data via the academic internet. The current system uses TCP/IP and we report on the way TCP transports the constant bit-rate VLBI data We also give details of a new, UDP based VLBI data transfer system, VLBI_UDP, and results of recent tests, including multiple simultaneous line-rate UDP data flows lasting several hours running over the academic internet and lightpaths. This paper describes briefly the system components, its characteristics, and some technical issues. The system consists mainly of four parts: MDC (drift chamber) tracking subsystem, EMC (electromagnetic calorimeter) subsystem, TOF (time of flight) subsystem and global trigger. Some highlights in designing of this system includes: trigger scheme optimization with software simulation; optical transmission between trigger and FEEs to realize isolation with FEEs to avoid ground loop current interference; designed with most latest FPGA (Xilinx Spartan 3, VirtexII Pro...) for simplicity, high reliability and easy maintenance and hence smaller system; FPGA in-system programming or firmware online downloadable via onboard, panel connector and/or VME bus for modification flexibility during commissioning. Torre","doi":"10.1109/RTC.2007.4382821","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.1109/RTC.2007.4382821","url":null,"abstract":"We propose a method to identify b-quark jets at trigger level which exploits recently increased CDF trigger system capabilities. b-quark jets identification is of central interest for the CDF high-PT physics program, and the possibility to select online b-jets enriched samples can extend the physics reaches especially for light Higgs boson searches where the Hrarrbb macr decay mode is dominant. Exploiting new trigger primitives provided by two recent trigger upgrades, the Level2 XFT stereo tracking and the improved Level2 cluster-finder, in conjunction with the existing Silicon Vertex Tracker (SVT), we design an online trigger algorithm aimed at selecting good purity b-jets samples useful for many physics measurements, the most important being inclusive Hrarr bb macr searches.
