Abstract

The forward silicon vertex tracker (FVTX) is a silicon detector being planned as an upgrade to the PHENIX experiment at RHIC. Four layers of silicon strip layers at forward and backward rapidity will add to the vertex capability of the PHENIX silicon vertex tracker (VTX) enabling measurement of secondary vertices in front of the PHENIX muon arms.
