For the business to function properly, the customer must be satisfied. There are currently several methods for controlling product quality, one of which is self-control. This research applied Value Stream Mapping to analyze self-control in the plastic injection process in the chosen company, seeking to prove the efficiency of the decision to apply selfcontrol compared to the period without using it in the process. A qualitative research was carried out based on a case study in a consumer goods company with medium size, having in part of its production, the plastic injection process. To reach the final objective, the data prior to the implementation of selfcontrol in the plastic injection process, the quality, productivity and scrap indicators referring to six months of production were evaluated in order to have a solid base of information, and consequently using the mapping of value stream for before and after analysis. This is also the reality experienced by Higher Education Institutions. Universities have been undergoing a significant change in relation to the conduct of their activities with the reduction of their budget due to the current situation in the country, which compromises the payment of outsourced services such as purchases of materials and maintenance of equipment. In view of this, the work proposes a cost reduction methodology using the tools that the Lean philosophy provides and bringing the benefits of this methodology to the activities developed in the laboratory sectors. In this way, as a general objective of this study, we will use the lean concept of the Lean philosophy to know how to optimize the process of material economy and aim at increasing productivity in Teaching laboratories. In order to carry out the present study, a bibliographic review was necessarily developed. To this end, a bibliographical review and comparative study were used. The IGF has the potential to increase the collection of public revenue derived in the tax category and reduce economic inequality, acting as a full enshrinement of the principle of contributory capacity in the tax sphere. However, tax avoidance and evasion have presented themselves as obstacles to the effectiveness of the tax. Tax avoidance strategies, such as transferring assets to lower tax jurisdictions, and tax evasion, through the omission or understatement of financial information, may compromise the IGF's ability to meet its objectives. European countries have adopted measures to combat tax evasion, such as improving supervision, strengthening international cooperation and implementing stricter regulations. However, evasion continues to be a significant challenge, requiring constant updating of policies and control mechanisms. The success of the IGF depends on effectively facing these challenges, ensuring fiscal justice and compliance with tax obligations. Brazil, since the Federal Constitution of 1988, could have regulated the IGF. It didn’t. For this, an analysis matrix of 10 identical slabs was elaborated, with different types of openings and positions, so that their reinforcement could be dimensioned with the TQS software help and then, using the same application, to be able to obtain the deflection results.Applying the method, it was found that the further to the center of the slab and the larger was the opening, the greater was the impact generated in the deflections. For the determination of reinforcing reinforcements, the empirical method of Lonhardt and Mönnig was used, and then this result was compared with what was calculated using the strut-and-tie model. With these results, it was observed that the empirical method of Leonhardt and Mönnig presented throughout the analysis matrix, a greater steel area than that obtained by the strut-and-tie model, thus being the most suitable for these situations. The mathematical formulation of these problems is composed of continuous and discrete variables with linear and nonlinear functions. The solution of these problems by mathematical modeling through solvers may not converge to a feasible solution or may demand much computational time, when many variables are considered. Thus, using metaheuristics to solve these problems is desirable according to the literature. The scatter search (SS) metaheuristic algorithm has been highlighted in the literature as an excellent combinatorial optimization algorithm for dealing with quality and diversity solutions. This work aims to present two methods using the SS algorithm to solve problems with continuous and discrete variables. Therefore, the SS algorithm is implemented to solve the traveling salesperson problem (TSP), which is a problem that contains only discrete variables, and also, another version of SS is implemented to solve the optimal power flow (OPF) problem, which has continuous and discrete variables. Two instances of the TSP and three instances of the OPF problem were used. The results show that the SS solves both problems efficiently and presents better results in some cases than the solutions of the same problems using classical mathematical models through solvers. Recently, CO2 has been used as an alternative, being applied as a light oxidant in the ethane oxidative dehydrogenation reaction, enabling new routes to obtain ethylene that are more efficient and economical than the current ones. Thus, the oxidative dehydrogenation of ethane with carbon dioxide stands out as one of the most promising alternatives, as it is an economical and ecological process, consuming one of the greenhouse gases. To analyze the literature on the relevance of the catalytic oxidative dehydrogenation reaction of ethane as an alternative route to ethylene production. This is a bibliographic review that used as source the databases of ELSEVIER, SPRINGER and CAPES from the descriptors \"ODHE\", \"Oxidative catalytic dehydrogenation with CO2\" and \"ethene\". Using the inclusion criteria, 50 articles in English and Portuguese published from 2012 to 2023 and a technical book were analyzed. CO2 is a promising alternative for the oxidative dehydrogenation reaction of ethane with O2, which suffers from catalyst deactivation due to coke formation and reducing selectivity to the main product. From the use of CO2 as an oxidant in the reaction, we have the advantage of producing active oxygen species, reducing coking and increasing selectivity.
