Os resultados demonstram que a execução desses ensaios, na fase de projeto, pode gerar uma redução da ordem de 25% no custo das fundações e dos blocos de coroamento de um empreendimento. ABSTRACT This work presents a comparative physical-financial analysis between the foundation projects designed with the traditional methods of load capacity, and the foundation projects that use the instrumented load tests, in the design phase, to optimize the foundation design. In addition, the objective was to reduce the cost of engineering works by reusing soils that were initially unsuitable for such uses. For this purpose, the use of the residue in the chemical stabilization of two soils from the Alto Paraopeba region, state of Minas Gerais, was analyzed, with a view to its use in road works. The studied soil - fly ash mixtures consisted of 10% and 20% fly ash in terms of dry mass and had their mechanical behavior evaluated. The mechanical characterization was done through the compaction tests in the Proctor Normal energy, unconfined compressive strength and CBR. The results of unconfined compressive strength showed that for one soil there was an increase in resistance with the increase of fly ash content, while for the other soil there was a reduction in resistance. Este novo sistema de classificação demonstrou que 76% dos vãos classificados como de alta a muito alta suscetibilidade à instabilidade estrutural de fato apresentaram alterações físicas, e por outro lado, 94% dos vãos classificados como de baixa suscetibilidade não apresentaram quaisquer tipos de alterações físicas. Os resultados apresentados são analisados com foco na previsibilidade de alterações geoestruturais nas feições espeleológicas e na segurança geotécnica cavernas ferríferas em áreas de mineração. ABSTRACT: Cave geotechnical studies have been key in supporting the requirements of Brazilian environmental legislation for the conservation of speleological heritage in mining areas. This paper presents a new methodology that classifies iron caves according to their susceptibility to structural instability called Cave Geotechnical Index (CGI). This index combines four variables: (1) Rock Mass Rating (RMR); (2) Hydraulic Radius (HR); (3) Ceiling Shape (CS), and (4) Ceiling Thickness (CT). The developed CGI was applied and calibrated over 4 years, by monitoring 63 spans from 27 caves authorized to be eliminated, located around active iron ore mines in Carajás, Pará. The work of duplication is of great importance to the state of Santa Catarina as it is a connecting road between the west, plateau and coast and also one of the main access roads to the port of Itajaí and Navegantes Airport. The landfill studied was carried out on a soft clay deposit approximately 18 m thick, interspersed with layers and sand lenses, where geotechnical solutions for acceleration of the settlements were used, composed of geodrain combined with temporary overload and solutions to ensure stability, like geogrids, berm and step construction. In the execution phase and after construction, the landfills were monitored by repression plates for the evaluation of vertical deformations, and by inclinometers and piezometers to evaluate lateral deformations and excess poropression. Subsequent to the elaboration of the characteristic geotechnical profile of the studied deposit, predictions of the repression were made by the classical theory and by numerical methods, using the PLAXIS software, where good convergence on the values of repression and the stabilization times of the vertical deformations was obtained. Rigidity is normally included in current methodologies, through proposals that evaluate stiffness based on soil compressibility. In this investigation a software based on the finite element method will be used, which allows numerically analysing the variability in the stiffness parameters of the foundation floor, using traditional constitutive models. The variability of the parameters of stiffness and resistance to soil cutting, will be based on the ranges of values found in the state of the art, for different types of materials, depending on the choice of the foundation floor and the statistical treatment of the data. The high amount of data obtained after the iterations of the software, requires a statistical analysis of the results. Além disso, surge a necessidade de melhoria dos solos usados para obras de pavimentação, que cada vez mais não se enquadram nas especificações técnicas brasileiras para uso em engenharia. O objetivo deste trabalho foi avaliar a viabilidade da estabilização de um solo plástico da Região Metropolitana do Cariri com o uso do resíduo das placas de gesso acartonado e cal hidratada para o emprego em camadas de base e sub-base de rodovias. A metodologia consistiu na realização de ensaios de caracterização do solo e do resíduo de gesso e caracterização mecânica das misturas de solo-gesso, solo-cal e ABSTRACT: In view of the growth in consumption and the production of cartoned sheets for use in drywall systems in civil construction, there was a problem with the generation of waste from the production system, as well as the used waste. In addition, the need to improve the soils used for paving works, which is increasingly falling outside Brazilian technical specifications for use in engineering. The objective of this work was to evaluate the feasibility of stabilizing a plastic soil in the Metropolitan Region of Cariri with the use of plasterboard and hydrated lime residues for use in base and sub-base strategies for highways. A methodology consisted of conducting soil characterization tests and plaster residue and mechanical characterization of mixtures of soil, plaster soil and soil of varying content or content of plaster residue (5%, 10% and 15%) and time curing time (0 and 14 days), the lime content remains constant (5%). It was observed that stabilization with plaster does not promote an increase in resistance, nor does it maintain the characteristics of the soil, on the contrary, or cause a reduction in resistance in the soil. However, when adding lime as soil mixtures, there was a significant strength gain. Therefore, this work aimed to study the erosive potential of the soil before applying a supercial protection using means of gelpolymer on a hillside in the municipality of Jaboatão dos Guararapes – PE. The field stage it consisted of geological assessment, geometrical survey of the studied slope and the collection of deformed and undeformed samples for laboratory tests. In the laboratory step, physical characterization tests were carried out (granulometry with and without use of a deflocculant, specific mass of the grains, consistency limits), the dispersion evaluation through the crumb test and the comparative sedimentometric test, and the erodibility evaluation through of the Indebitzen test. The exposition are residual soils of granitic rocks, classified as sand clayey (SC). As dispersivity, for both tests, the soil was classified as non-dispersive. Thus, based on the Brazilian standardization for laboratory tests and analysis and standardization for the recycling and reuse of these materials, the paper aimed to study the resistance and behavior of the soil when mixed with construction and demolition waste. Soil samples from the Universidade do Oeste Paulista (UNOESTE), in the municipality of Presidente Prudente, SP, were analyzed. The object of study was the compressive strength of this soil mixed with construction and demolition waste collected from Universidade Estadual Paulista (UNESP).
