Abstract
: Generally, the equations that exist today in the geotechnical field, to reproduce the mechanical behaviour of the foundation soil, have been based on historical observations, study of reduced models and the experience of the authors. Rigidity is normally included in current methodologies, through proposals that evaluate stiffness based on soil compressibility. In this investigation a software based on the finite element method will be used, which allows numerically analysing the variability in the stiffness parameters of the foundation floor, using traditional constitutive models. The variability of the parameters of stiffness and resistance to soil cutting, will be based on the ranges of values found in the state of the art, for different types of materials, depending on the choice of the foundation floor and the statistical treatment of the data. The high amount of data obtained after the iterations of the software, requires a statistical analysis of the results. In the final analysis of the investigation, a comparison between the analytical evaluation using classical equations and the numerical analysis considering various aspects within the computational model will be presented.
